Jose
Jose is a Guadalajaran inspired restaurant in the family-friendly Lovers/Inwood neighborhood, serving contemporary Mexican-inspired cuisine, with a focus on Jalisco style dishes. Jose is founded by local entertainment and development firm WoodHouse, which has enlisted famed art collector and Ceramica Suro founder, Jose Noe Suro, to collaborate on the unique design elements guests will experience.

A concept of more than a decade in the making, Jose is born from frequent trips to Mexico, a love for tequila and a desire to have an inspired place for friends, neighbors and family to gather and feel at home. A horseshoe bar is the focal point of the space, with an extensive inventory of fine tequila, mescal, whiskeys and rum, displayed on backlit shelves.
Services
Anastacia Quinones-Pittman, executive chef at Jose in Dallas, was named Eater Dallas's 2018 Chef of the Year for the bold culinary creativity that she brings to her Jalisco-inspired, modern Mexican eatery. We are thrilled to invite her to the Beard House to take center stage and headline a dinner! Her restaurant, Jose, features Guadalajara-inspired food with flavors as big and bright as a Texas sky.

This review is mainly about comparing the quality and taste of the food to the price. The quality and taste are mediocre, the portion size was tiny and the prices were high compared to what we got (quality and portion). I honestly prefer to eat a Fajitas plate in a Tex Mex restaurant instead.

I cant wait to visit this place again. I love the aesthetic which was very open and airy. This place is perfect for summer or spring. The drinks were amazing and the food did not disappoint. I had the queso add chorizo and my friend had the ahi tuna ceviche. Both were delicious. Give the beets drink a try it's definitely flavorful.
The only downside was that our service was a bit slow but granted it was a busy Sunday.

I made a reservation on 12/18/21 through OpenTable for a table of 10 at noon on 1/15/2022. When we arrived at the restaurant on 1/15/2022, we were seated on the patio in 30° weather. Even though there was space available, the hostess and manager refused to combine tables inside to accommodate our group. I am HIGHLY disappointed, and my birthday brunch was RUINED. I do NOT recommend Jose if you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion during the winter months.

This is a classy Mexican spot for tacos, enchiladas, rellenos, beer & mezcal margaritas. Dress to impress and get ready to take selfies. The cocktails are colorful and tasty. The main dishes were most electric.

The overall experience was great. Location, aesthetic, was all there. The service was great everyone was attentive. The food was good but it didn’t do it for me. I expected more flavor wise. Nevertheless it was still a great experience.

Nice ambiance, nice tables and chairs but not the best of service. It took over 20 minutes for someone to come back to our table to take the order. The food was so so.

Unfortunately I was really looking forward to this place and ended up being disappointed. The service was probably one of the slowest I've experienced. The food, although looked and was presented very well was mediocre at best. I will probably not be returning. The layout was cool snd the front greeter was nice and attentive.

Big let down! Margarita was watered down from the one I had last month. Oh and the house wine is $16 a glass. Food was average compared to other Dallas optionS. And our server decided he deserved a 22% tip. He was reluctant to show us the itemized bill on his electronic pad. All I was handed was total with 22% tip included.
Last month we ate at Jose's and had a pleasant dining experience. Maybe it was a bartender and server issue.
Might give them another try in a few months.

I had very high expectations for Jose when I first found them online. I'll start by saying the ambiance was perfect. I loved the way the restaurant looked and felt while dining. The draw back was unfortunately the cuisine. I felt like it was quite bland for what I expected, considering this is an elevated Mexican restaurant. It isn't bad, don't get me wrong, but out of all the other places in Dallas I most likely won't return.

Came for the aesthetic, stayed for the food. José is an absolutely gorgeous spot in Dallas, perfect for catching up with friends under the retractable patio roof on a nice day over delicious margaritas and Jalisco food. The drinks, made with all real ingredients, cannot be missed. There is street parking and valet. We ordered the:

* carnitas de olla
* short rib enchiladas
* coconut ceviche
* quesadillas doradas
* kale salad
* cocktail: la malinche

Went last night for a friends birthday. The chips and salsa were delicious. Started with the guacamole and ceviche. We enjoyed it. I had the shrimp tacos and they were very good. Service was a bit slow.

Lovely somewhat hidden spot on Lover's with plenty of seating and both indoor/outdoor seating. The service was great and the food was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot!

We came in for margaritas and appetizers, and they didn't disappoint. I got the seasonal frozen margarita, which was watermelon - really tasty and refreshing. My husband was driving so they made him a pineapple mocktail, which he really enjoyed. The table shared the ceviche, which I would recommend. Would probably try the tacos if I were to go back - the food menu looked excellent.

It's been a while but I feel it necessary to update my review

The food quality has gone down hill. I tried the same pescado Veracruz dish and it's way different than before. The fish plain and dry. The salmon and avocado was hilarious, it was liked canned salmon, lettuce, avocado, with a pool of aoli, so lackluster for 16 bucks. My wife got the shrimp fish - it came with 3 shrimp. What happened ?

Drinks are still stupid expensive and not worth it.

Service was ... lacking. Server forgot a lot of drink orders and request for a cold mug. Another server had to step in even

Went for brunch and will absolutely be back to explore the rest of the menu. I had the marinated shrimp tacos. They come with refried black beans and rice. Everything was yummy; so flavorful and filling. Jose has a great selection of drinks. I chose the La Scolca cortese, very light white wine, perfect for a hot day.

A great place to dine in. The services was great and he was attentive. I had the skirt steak but honestly I had better. Next time, I would like to try the chicken mole. They do have a healthy range of specialty drinks. Overall, great experience.

Delicious! Everything our group had was *chef kiss* mouthwatering! From the drinks, to the apps, entrees and service!

Try ALL the drinks. Seriously.

Then indulge yourself w an order of queso fundillo and some quesadillas. All the enchiladas are IT- portion and flavor wise. The mole, yum.

Go and enjoy! You won't regret.

My first margarita Mile stop was this place.

Rolled in around 6pm on a Friday. JAM PACKED!

We had a seat at the bar and were greeted immediately.

How can one experience gross queso fundido!? I don't know, but I SURE DID that night!

Chips and salsa were meh.

The marg was a marg. Don't sure if it was deserving to be on the marg mile list. Oh well.

3 stars for an "ok" tasting cocktail and A1 service!

Enjoyed my dinner with friends on their amazing open patio. Great vibe and ambiance. For dinner I enjoyed their guacamole, a couple frozen strawberry margaritas and the Chile relleno. The margarita was excellent! (9 out of 10). The food was overall good. (7 out of 10). The flavors were good a fresh but disappointed with the limited vegetarian items.

Our service was probably the best part. Our server Shakti was incredible!! Loved her energy and how quick and thorough she was. She even double checked out tab at the end and ran through all our items to make sure it was accurate. Very quick and super

This place has really cute dining area, the patio is a little crowded but the further end is more wide spread. This is a great place for a date night.

I personally really enjoyed the appetizers and ordered a few of them.
- The fried quesadilla was amazing and the meat inside was so good. These were so large so one of these started to fill me up already.
- I ordered the ceviche to pair with the heavy meat/cheese dish and it didn't disappoint. I really liked the seasoning and the seafood inside it.
- the pumpkin spice tres Leche was good but a little too rich and heavy for me. It really
