This is a great hotel!!
Centrally located on Coronado Island, this old style Spanish themed hotel has lot to offer!
The room we had was like a 2 bedroom house, with a full kitchen, dining room, and living room. Each bedroom had its own fully stocked bathroom as well as huge walk-in closets.
The living room and bedrooms had big screen TVs, and the kitchen had a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave along with cabinets full of all the dishes you need.
The location was great, with only 5 minute walk to the beach and many restaurants within walking distance also.
And if you don't want to leave

If you make a reservation here, MAKE SURE TO NOT GET ROOM 117!!! This room is so small it can only fit a bed and night stands. No desk or even a chair. I am here on a business trip yet have nowhere to work :(
No counter in the bathroom to put your toiletries and no big person is going to be able to comfortably take a shower. It's almost as small as an RV shower.
The walls are so thin that I am laying in bed right now listening to the movie playing in the next room. Also know that there are no elevators, so pack light!
Great location and nice staff, but uncomfortable accommodations.

Arrived at 3pm, room is situated on a courtyard with an active restaurant- noise level is very loud and you can hear all the multiple conversations of the restaurant patrons along with a constant music behind it until 9:30pm. Room was moved to a quieter side of the courtyard. Much improved and now we can enjoy how wonderful this hotel is! Beautiful pool, courtyard and amenities. Rooms are a lovely mix of old style and modern.

Don't believe the pictures, this place is a dump. If you want to feel like you're living in 1902, then I guess this is the place. It smells like rotting wood. There is electrical run outside the walls. The bathroom and kitchen don't look anything like the pictures. I don't think they've been updated since the 70's. The "full kitchen" is anything but full. Half the cupboards don't fully close, no counter space and the half fridge doesn't even work. There are no pans to use in the oven. You get plates, glasses, and silverware. That's it. We get

I have lived on Coronado for many years and recently moved out of state when I had the occasion to return to visit with family and friends on Coronado. My husband spoke and booked with Marisio. We showed up and he was kind enough to show us a couple of different rooms so we could choose what would best fit our needs. He kindly helped carry my luggage upstairs as it is an old building without an elevator. Our stay was beyond pleasant! Our room was extremely clean, the air-conditioning worked perfectly, Our bed, bedding and pillows were crisp, and comfortable. Bathrooms were cute, clean and water

My boyfriend and I can't say enough about this place. AMAZING!! I am late writing this review due to our busy crazy lives. We stayed here back in the beginning of June? It exceeded our expectations! We loved the cozy suites and the service was great. Tim and his staff went above and beyond. It's also in the center of everything. It's truly is the hidden gem of Coronado Island. We can't wait to go back!

I have such nostalgia for El Cordova-- my family has been staying here on and off since my childhood and the place has kept its character-- it feels like visiting a relative-- the rooms still have their lovely Mexican tile bathrooms and kitchens and the place smells like Bounce sheets and delicious refried beans (there is a Mexican food restaurant that is integral to the hotel.)
Im not an unkind person and you'll see I like to leave honest reviews and I'm going to leave out names: we are sad this year to be treated extraordinarily rudely by front desk staff. A female staff member is in

The moment leisure stay occupancy was approved & announced by Governor Newsom, the hubby & I immediately begin researching the right spot to enjoy our Babymoon. Avid fans of San Diego, we opted to try something old but new, which landed us in Coronado Island.
So the stay.
Absolutely amazing! Customer service started off on the right foot prior to our check in, when we phoned just to see at what capacity El Cordova would operate in -- despite the Phase 2 of the pandemic, we wanted to confirm the pool and dining wouldn't be an issue.
-Tim really assured us that all would be well

My first time staying at this cozy hotel was truly a mini-vacation. I appreciate the hospitality of Matt when he walked us to our guest suite on our check-in day. He was so personable and always pleasant when he spoke. I loved the tidiness and the Spanish layout of the suite given to us. Everything from the full kitchen to the comfortable bedroom with the large king-sized bed were absolutely clean and orderly. I was happy to run into the housekeeper Maria on a brief stroll around the grounds. She was very nice and hard-working. She inquired if we needed anything. Great service. Our stay the first

I stayed here with the fam over Easter weekend. It's a charming hotel located in a complex where there's other shops as well as a popular local restaurant (Miguel's). This means that it's quite noisy at night but it's manageable for deep sleepers. They don't have parking lot so you either have to park on the side with metered parking or in the back where the residential neighborhoods are. It's two-hour parking from 8am-6pm on certain blocks so just be mindful of reading the signs. The room we stayed in had one king bed and a pull out mattress in the living room

Edit: dear owner, thank you for your response. I'm sure you never intend to inconvenience your guests. And I don't fault you for not being able to get us into our room early, although it shouldn't normally be too difficult to get one clean room within an hour or so. But check in is at 4 and when we came back at that time we were told 4:10. At 4:10 we were told our room was being cleaned right then and would be ready in 20 more minutes. 20 minutes later we were told it was being vacuumed, and 15 minutes after that we were finally given a room. for a 200 sq ft room this seems like

We booked 3 nights stay through RCI. The hotel complex is colorful and pleasant. We saw many young families enjoyed the pool and spa. Our room was on second floor facing the pool, but the noise level was always acceptable to us.
Our room was comfortable. The staff was great!
The best is the location of this hotel-right on the busiest corner of Orange Ave. which offers many restaurants, shops, grocery, drug store....and the residential houses are such a joy to stroll around to enjoy the nice beautiful gardens and architecture. It is also an easy walk to the ferry port area.

Truly one of the best experiences I've ever had! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a little farewell one-night stay before I left the country for a month.
We checked in on around 7pm on a Tuesday and the front desk was outstandingly polite. He made everything hassle-free and was extremely nice. So nice that my boyfriend and I tried to find an ATM to get cash out to tip him, but by the time we located one the overnight shift person had come in.
