Using running, yoga, and mindfulness, we aim to help you thrive in a world filled with many challenges, including health and everyday life stress. We offer Yoga to help you build a strong mind-body-spirit, Mindfulness Training to help you build resilience to deal with whatever comes your way, and Fitness, and Lifestyle Coaching for holistic health.

We value the relationship between teacher and student, with this purpose, we offer small, intimate classes. Our intent is build that sense of togetherness. We want to help you to push the limits of what's possible, starting on your mat and spilling over into your life and the world. Charmaine van Niekerk was born in South Africa.
Running is my passion. I've enjoyed running for more than 35 years, because it's how I best start my day. Going long has been my forte right from the outset. I ran my first ultra-marathon within a year of starting my running adventure and have run marathons and ultra-distance events competitively since 1989.
Personalized Coaching ("PC") is a premium training opportunity offering the additional support required for marathon and half-marathon runners who desire to train with an individualized schedule and target goals that fit their life/work schedule while focusing on a goal race.

PC also benefits athletes that wish to train at a higher level with scheduled accountability and experienced guidance to keep them focused on their individual running goals and objectives.While running is predominantly an individual sport, success is often greatly influenced by our training partners.
Sign the waiver and join the Tuesday 5K club on Strava. Introduce yourself and tell us your goals for participating. Run your best time trial, post to Strava, rename your run "Tuesday 5K", and make it public to see where you are on the leaderboard. If you're on Strava, join the Tuesday 5K Club to see where you are on the leader board (optional).
How many times have you searched online for upcoming run races, only to find that the best ones are already sold out? Recently that's been me. Nevertheless, I am always surprised by how quickly the races fill. Sometimes I fail to schedule events because I don't know what will happen in my life in six.

Running with Charmaine has been a life changing experience for my teenager. What an amazing coach and wonderful human. Very highly recommend her if you want to motivate, train kids to run long distances.

Charmaine embodies everything you'd ever want in a yoga instructor. She introduced me to yoga ten years ago and helped me to develop from the beginner to advanced poses. She has a specific eye for form and encourages you to challenge yourself. Her classes are perfect for strengthening the body, lowering stress, and focusing on the breath in a way that promotes well-being.
On top of being a devoted instructor, Charmaine has the kindest heart and a giving spirit. You will love her!

Charmaine is a wonderful, highly skilled teacher with great experience and personality. Her classes are not just about doing asanas on the mat, even though it will challenge you ;o) Her teaching helps to get to know yourself better and to reconnect with yourself again. It will reach out to your body and finally touches mind and soul. That´s the way I have found my truth and started living with more mindfulness and awareness again. I recommend this incredible yoga teacher to all: those with experience will be challenged to increase their goals and those who are new will be guided with encouragement and modification options to satisfy their needs. I have attended her classes for years and continually learn new poses and strengthen my practice. This class benefits mind, body, and spirit!

I enjoyed the hands-on and technical experience of this class. Very intimate and relaxing. I am going to invite my neighborhood friends to practice with me plus it's a walk away from FCMS. So less stressing out to drive to class.

Charmaine is an excellent yoga instructor.

She pays special attention to each student working closely to make appropriate modifications for the student's level and at the same time challenging each to grow in their practice and get stronger.

Charmaine is incredibly knowledgeable and shares to educate each student to build a strong yoga foundation and an understanding of the benefits of each pose.

She also has a wicked sense of humor which is also a must for any great yoga instructor.

I've had the immense pleasure of taking Forrest Yoga classes from Charmaine for the last 6-7 months. Today, I observed her class for teacher training and learned so much from Charmaine's fluid and strong instruction techniques. I've never had a teacher who was so clear in her instruction that I could close my eyes and imagine the pose without first seeing it. She truly meets the needs of her students and is ever watchful of alignments and modifications. I can only hope to become this type of instructor as I continue in my Yoga journey! Thank you Charmaine!
