We're constantly brewing, both our year-round favorites as well as special one-off beers that you'll only be able to try at the brewery. There might be a lot of science behind this brewing business, but our brewers keep as much art in their craft as possible, and the proof is in the beer. Mindful Brewing utilizes a state of the art 10 bbl 2-vessel steam-driven system.
At Mindful Brewing we wear our locavore badge proudly, and for good reason. By supporting the local community we help to build up this city that we love and its surrounding neighborhoods. By striving to truly be farm-to-table, we make the trip your food takes as short as possible. That means food that's typically hours old instead of days or even weeks old.
Think of our bottle shop as your own beer fridge, only we have 1,000 bottles to choose from. Create your own mixed six-pack with the beers you want, when you want them. Want six different IPAs? You got it. How about six dark beers? Deal. How about a different style of beer for each day of the week?
We'd love to hear from you. Whether you have any questions or would like to leave feedback on a recent visit, contact us. We hope you love our beer as much as we do, and welcome any comments, questions, compliments or concerns. I came here for a Yelp event and had to try the beer and tacos!
I had the Lambda and sleeping giant IPAs, fruity and hoppy just how I like it. The taco was the perfect pairing for it. They don't have just your typical tacos either. I had the gringa taco, it had a ton of flavor, the pork wasn't dry and it had the perfect amount of onions and salsa. They're on the smaller side so I would order a few. They also have vegan and veggie options, plenty of choices and not too steep prices.

We have eaten at this location several times before and have had great experiences each time. However, this time not so much. Decided to celebrate my daughters birthday here on October 9.
My wife ordered the portebello sandwich with the mushroom sliced so thinly it was like paper and burnt as well. My caprese sandwich on sour dough had almost nothing inside I felt like I was eating just toasted bread for $11.00. The waitress acted like she wished she were someplace else and came back to the table once. Not very friendly. I think next time when I consider taking my family out and spending $100

I wasn't here long. I didn't eat. I've only been here once, so this may be just a fluke that I experienced. The beer I had was super tasty, clean, no off-flavors. I would go so far as to say remarkable.
My issue was service. When I can't get a bartender to look at me, that's a problem. You're supposed to be looking for opportunities to sell beer. That means looking people in the eye. He seemed more concerned about looking cool.
The set up has challenges. There are picnic tables, but they are not seat yourself. They want you to only have plastic cups outside, but no one asks if you are staying

I hate to be mean, and I rarely complain, but this was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with a sit down restaurant. The $16 teeny tiny “fried chicken breast” was so overdone it was inedible. I had 3 pieces and it was so dry it got stuck in my throat and couldn’t eat any more. I mean, it’s clear in the photos. Some was too tough to chew. There was hardly any meat on this anyway. It was truly pitiful. I never send things back because I feel bad, and I know every place under the sun is short staffed, but I 100% regret not sending it back. I took some home thinking I could try

Good variety of beer to choose from. Food was tasty. Only minor thing, they don't offer tasting samples of their beers but you can buy a 5oz pour for $2.50. They have indoor and outdoor dining and a shop for beer/merch inside.

I would probably be more adventurous with the drinks there if I could handle that spicy gluten. I got a cider I have never hard and it was tart and delicious! I had the stake burger with a gluten free bun and it was also delicious. The atmosphere was quite nice, and the weather was very mild. I had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend and go back. Next time I want to try the gluten free pizza!

Just came here for taco Tuesday. Ordered 6 tacos: Pittsburgh, Carne asada, al pastor, shrimp, beans, gringa. They were all great, but I especially loved the Carne asada and the beans. They were fresh, and had a multitude of flavors. Very refreshing the drinks were also strong. I got the peach Margarita and the cherry limeade mule. Definitely a fan of the mule!

Came here for dinner a few weeks ago and YUM. First, we started with margarita flights and the guacamole - both were excellent, but I was partial to my mango and strawberry marg.

For dinner, I got two tacos - just a traditional ground beef taco and the al pastor. The al pastor was my favorite with the grilled pineapple, but I enjoyed both!

Overall, the service was just okay...we had to stare down our waitress a few times because she kept skipping over us. But, this was a nice, simple spot with good tacos and vegan options!

Beer and food was very good. Although, was disappointed by the lack of mindful brews canned to go. Enjoyed the igloo like enclosure for sitting outdoors, very nice set up

Love this place. Family and outside pet friendly. Great selection of beer and all of the staff was helpful and friendly. Food was good quality and served hot. The best thing in the menu is the fried cauliflower, it’s a must try. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. I took some beer to go also.

Decent little brewery with its second location in Carnegie. I like the self-serve coolers.
Food offerings from Asadero are a bonus.

Met a friend here the other day and loved this place!! Plenty of parking and spacious "outside" patio (dog friendly). We sampled some brews.. I liked the lime agave - it was a wheat beer. They have a nice small food menu too from wings to tacos. We had salsa and chips and loaded fries with bits of steak and cheese on them to munch on. It was tough to decide but they do offer a small yet nice food menu.

I did visit the other location in Castle Shannon a few years back and was also a great experience.

Service was outstanding and it was a great visit. Thanks Mindful Brewing."

Ordered tacos and margs here spontaneously on a Friday night, not expecting much as I am a taco snob and the reviews aren't stellar... well let me tell you this was a FANTASTIC taco experience at Asadero !!!! I was feeling froggy so I ordered 2 of almost every taco, Al Pastor, Shrimp tacos, chicken tacos, and steak- each one was better than the next! The flavors were incredible and had me thinking about the next time I could eat here again!! The Al Pastor taco and shrimp taco were my two favorites! Thinking I may have ordered too much initially, there were none to spare at the end of this

Just checked this place out for first time since changed from 99 bottles. The tacos were great. Excellent beer selection, tons of craft with reasonable prices. The outdoor patio seating is definitely the highlight of this place. Nice and cool under roof on hot days. Has ceiling fans and TVs outside too. Staff was friendly. Order up at the bar and they bring food to your table. Everything was extremely clean. Very chill vibes at this place. Will be back and would recommend to anyone looking to relax outside and enjoy some beers and tacos.

We have been to this location maybe 30+ times as it is close to us. It's our go to location. They have many beer, cider and wine options. They have their beer on tap as well as visiting breweries. They have local cider and wine on tap.

Food options are pretty decent for being a brewery. There is always a vegan or vegetarian options available. We never had one bad experience here. We've been here many of occasions and all of them have been awesome. Great brewery in the South Hills and highly recommend visiting.

I am glad I gave this place another chance. Today for lunch, all three of my tacos were made correctly, and they tasted very good. Also, I enjoyed my beer this time, much better than last time, the Wi-Fi worked today, and I even tried the Chocolate Churros, and they were pretty good. Lastly, there were some credits on the Ghostbusters pinball machine, so I got to play some pinball for free too! Cheers!

Update 3/9020 . . . stopped in again with a friend, and got the Cactus Taco and the Cool Beans Taco. They forgot the guacamole on the Cool Beans, but thankfully, the server went in the back

My fiance and I had went to Asadero almost a month ago, excited for a new taco-based bar. Sad to see the 99 Bottles menu go, but, was very optimistic for Asadero's menu.

Right before getting there, I had read a review on Yelp where the person had stated they got every taco wrong in terms of what ingredients were missing, or were different for each of the 3 tacos he got. I thought that was weird, and chalked it up to probably a one-off deal and still decided to go.

We had ordered 6 tacos (3 each) and the Carne Asada fries - late dinner so we were starving.

We ordered:

Beer was amazing. They have a "day drinking" section of the beer menu with lighter beers. I really liked that, because it was a warm day and a light beer is perfect with food. But the service was so slow. We sat for a long time before anyone gave us menus. We ran out of water, and it was about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. Then our server went to get our water but never came back. Another waiter walked by after about 5 minutes and got us refills. The burger and fries were good, but their steak wrap (a special) was awful. It was so dry and under seasoned. I would go back, but make

Awesome place to get some good beer and food. This is one of better breweries in Pittsburgh. If weather cooperates it's awesome to sit at bar. I went here for lunch and luckily it was awesome weather that day. They have huge collection of beer for you too choose from. If your care for food, its descent too. Have some time on hand when go here ao that you can sit back and enjoy.
All n all this is a nice place..will definitely be back here.
