Enjoyed a delightful meal experience today! My girlfriend is half-French and knows good French food. She raved that her MOULES MARINIERES were fabulous! The mussels, sourced from Prince Edward Island, were plump and luscious!
Look at the photograph attached.
And, contrary to an earlier reviewer, the onion soup had a delicious stock and was perfectly prepared. The BUTTER LETTUCE SALAD with fresh herbs, shallots & champagne vinaigrette was tart and elegant. The POULET ROTI was masterfully and fall-off-the-bone delicious. Their light fresh bread was excellent. Paired with French viognier, we had

The setting is fantastic and the food is.. passable, but disappointing. Had the onion soup, fries and eggs Florentine. Fries were good, soup was ok and the eggs were bad. Split hollandaise, undercooked eggs (some wobbly/runny whites) and just generally untasty. Also service was slow, but it was quite busy. Recommend it for some coffee, a glass and wine and a good hang but don’t come here expecting great lunch/brunch food.

Service: 4 stars
They were mostly quick and helpful. They turned on a heater for us for outdoor seating.
Oysters 4 stars
Not shucked completely, but tasted fine
Onion Soup 3 stars
A little too salty and not sweet enough for my taste
Mussels and fries: 2 stars
The mussels, especially the large ones, tasted undercooked, mushy, and gross. Kind of ruined the experience for me. Wine flavor in sauce was a little too strong for me. Fries were pretty mediocre, but ok when dipped in ketchup.
Pricetag: $$$
Did not feel the food quality was worth how much I paid, even with the nice service.

The stews were absolutely delicious, especially on a chilly night!
The veal stew was creamy and paired perfectly with the rice, quite generous with the amount of veal.
The beef stew was a tad salty but the beef was tender and was great dipping with bread.
Service was also amazing and friendly.
Will definitely be coming back again for more!

My family and I dined here twice in the last month and are already planning the next time we will come back! The food is excellent, the service is friendly and wonderful, and the amount of outdoor dining is incredible (especially when the sun is shining).
My favorite dish lately has been the French onion soup. I can't seem to have enough! I've had many French onion soup's in the Bay Area and Chouquet's by far has the BEST one. Super flavorful and they put plenty of yummy cheese. My daughter loves their French toast and my husband thought the smoked salmon Benedict was excellent

This review is not about the food as we decided against eating here after all. We've made the reservation and were seated inside due to chilly sf evenings.
I found the decor downright depressing low ceilings , sticky table top, and Mexican music blasting from the stereo.
This is supposed to be a French restaurant , right? Ultimately we made the decision to eat elsewhere. Dear Owner, if you want to pretend to be a French restaurant , please put a bit more effort into that concept. And maybe expand the menu a bit - make it more exciting to compensate for the dreary environment.

Came here for drinks and dessert on a Saturday night. There were many tables opened but apparently they were "reserved." They sat us at a table in the corner and we asked if we could get a heat lamp (chilly SF weather) and they said they were all "taken" (more on this later). She moved us to an outdoor booth where the heater was broken and the other 2 booths with heaters that were empty were "reserved." We, by the way, watched both those tables stay empty the ENTIRE duration of our stay.
We each ordered cocktails and dessert. The cocktails were very sweet and the

We love Chouquettes and this review is truly long overdue considering my fiancé and I go here at least twice a month! The servers here, and in particular Mark, are SO friendly and accommodating!
The must-haves are:
-smoked trout salad (they do not skimp out on the trout! And I love the Yukon gold potatoes in this salad)
-French onion soup (gooey, cheesy, rich beef broth)
-cheeseburger (with gruyere and bacon, and the fries are thin, crispy, and salty)
-molten chocolate cake which is served with creamy vanilla ice cream (I don't even like chocolate but this dessert is absolutely delicious

Great find!!! My partner and I found this great eatery close to our hotel. Chouquet has the vibe of a small charming French bistro. The food was over the top delicious, from apps to desserts, and nicely served. The service was friendly, prompt, and welcoming. It was like being at your best friend's dinner party!

I had the Salmon Benedict and it was delicious. For cheese lovers, I recommend their Croque Monsieur (open face ham and cheese sandwich). The cheese was melted and slightly charred on the top, so good! The menu doesn't show that they have bacon but it is available for order. I got a side of bacon to go with my bloody Mary. Their bloody Mary has a good kick to it which I like!

I come here all the time bc I always try to patronize local restaurants, but my experience today has taught me to take my business elsewhere.
We were treated very poorly by a male host who refused to seat us at 3pm for drinks, without even checking reservations. He said he wanted to save tables for dinner but when we pointed out that there were at least 5 open tables, he completely dismissed us. Dude, it's 3pm; the dinner rush wouldn't be for a few more hours at least.
The kicker was how rude he was about it though. When my friend asked if we really couldn't be seated, he said

Good French food with plenty of outdoor dining.
The food was not particularly memorable, but didn't think it was bad. Portion sizes were relatively small so would recommend heading down the street for ice cream at Salt & Straw as a post-dinner treat.
There is plenty of outdoor seating and was easy to book a Saturday dinner reservation for a party of 6.

Got brunch here during covid and was very happy with the experience. Unlike a lot of places that offer outdoor dining. Chouquet had plenty of space between tables. The street next to the restaurant was clsoed down so that they could set up tables giving lots of space and fresh air.
I had the eggs benedict and was very happy with my food. My latte was a bit too bitter for my liking but other than that, everything was great. Service was very friendly and quick.

Oui, s'il vous plaît! This place is tucked on the end of Fillmore street. They have specials on weekday dinner. Always perfect amount in portion and taste. Ordered salmons here many times and was always delicious. Filet mignon is tender as baby’s bum. Excellent service!
Updated review: cleanest and most spacious outdoor dining space in Sf! We love the food here and the service! Our server, Mark, always make our dining experience superb!

A great outdoor dining option during COVID times. The tables are seated far apart, and the servers are regularly sanitizing tables. You scan the menu from your phone which makes ordering a breeze.
The service was quick and the food was DELISH! I ordered the French toast and was very happy. I also saw other tables with the omelette and eggs Benedict - both looked nice too.
The mimosas were refreshing and came in several flavors. I got guava and would order it again.
Overall, prices are fair for the area and the food was really yummy. I will be back for sure!

Went here for a friend's birthday brunch this Sunday for my first brunch out since the reopening. We had a larger group that they were able to accommodate with 2 tables next to each other (still with proper distancing in place). The people working there were really accommodating with the request, when my friend calls in to try and organize the logistics.
The outdoor seating is so cute and along a tree lined street off of Fillmore that's closed to commercial traffic. They had a qr code at the table, and then still came around to take everyone's order. My boyfriend and I decided

A good French delivery option. Have been wanting to try this place out for a while and I was not disappointed. The food was simple but really delicious. Authentic and made with superb ingredients. The roast chicken was done really well but the salmon salad was crazy good. Nice portion sizes too. Should’ve gotten a dessert. Deux glasses up 🍷🍷
