What an amazing dining experience! HB started off with the house Chardonnay and I sipped on the Murky Bengali Martini (it has a kick! especially nibbling on the huge olive!). Ranjan was an excellent host, guiding us through the Chef's Tasting Menu for two. The appetizers were very different, the entrees provided a nice assortment of vegetarian, chicken and lamb dishes, the rice was fantastic, and the desserts nothing like we'd every had before. We enjoyed all of the dishes and found it to be an excellent way to taste different foods. Superb evening!

This restaurant is a class act! Authentic North Indian food served in a style reminiscent of the finest restaurants in India! We had Navratan Kurma which was very subtle and delicious! And we ordered Kali Dal which was simmered to perfection. Accompanied by soft Tandoori rotis and parathas grilled just right! We ended with Chai which was spiced perfectly just like the desi chais back home that we get in glasses in the platforms of the train stations all over India! The service was also truly wonderful- very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates the finer things

This place is awesome. Great service and even better food! The owner/chef came to our table and suggested some of the best tasting Indian food I've ever had. He even makes his own "special" hot sauce that you have to ask for (he roasts the peppers for two days). I highly recommend this restaurant!

I can't say enough about this place. I come to the area once a year for a trade show, and every year Ranjan the chef/owner is always fantastic. The food is extremely flavorful and my companions always rave about it. If you're looking for a great mango lassi, ask for a shot of Indian rum and you will never want a normal mango lassi again!!!

The food here was fabulous. We highly recommend the tasting menu. The nan was fresh and tasty. The service is fast but friendly. The owner circulates around the tables to make sure all is good. The tasting menu was more food than we could eat. Prices very reasonable.

Wow! Incredible service, but even greater food. We loved every single dish and definitely a great deal for the amount of food that you get. The servers and all of the staff was nothing but amazing. I will be recommending this place to everyone.

Very bad service , waited for more than an hr.and after that the food served with so less quantity that one order is not even sufficient for one person.
When we asked abt the delay the person said there is no need to argue on it.
Worst ever experience.

I found this place on google and it was walking distance from Hilton Hotel SF Union Square. I ordered some mango slush with yogurt and some dinner. It was my first time here but not my first time eating Indian food. The servers were polite and attentive. The food was okay, but the mango slush wasn't at all. It's not that it doesn't taste good but it has a dead baby fly right in the bottom of it. I asked for my check and left. The guy server replaced my drink even after I told him I don't want to coz it might be the same batch where that fly been swimming til it died. Eat at your own risk. I read

Extremely BAD Service, portion size is not even enough for one person and you will laugh looking at the SERVING BOWLS. The Bald owner ( sorry he did not introduce himself) is rude to the core. He needs to go back to culinary school to learn mannerisms and to understand the herbs to COOK AUTHENTIC INDIAN FOOD! You are better off eating Pizza than wasting your money here! Only thing appealing was the white linen!!!! And not to forget his punchline, “I want my customers to order minimum of $20 PER PERSON”
He will push you for his signature dish ALOO CHAT CROUSTADE, please save yourself from eating

I can't say enough about how impressed I was with the Kerelan Pepper Chicken-- I'd order that again by the gallon! Our table also ordered many other items (which I can't all remember because the one I ordered was so good!) and everything was delicious. Kudos to this restaurant for being able to immediately seat a table of 6 without a reservation and serve us delicious cocktails and food. Service was outstanding as well- never an empty water glass! Thank you Ranjan and team for a delicious dinner!

New Delhi is such an integral part of San Francisco and a pillar of the community. I have been going here since 2017 and never does it disappoint. The owner, Ranjan, and his staff are always welcoming and always treat all their guests with the utmost respect and give incredible service. The food is amazing and always consistent! Samosas are my favorite here and their chutneys are always so tasty. The interior is also beautiful and we love being here. Highly recommend!!!

Where do I start... there are flies flying around the food and the table. Two dishes came cold, and when we complained and tried to ask for warm food, the waiter said, and literally word to word "its windy outside, its windy and cold in the kitchen also so the food gets cold. Sorry thats only how you will get it. We can't do anything about that".

Terrible service, food was awful. Cold dishes, damp papadams, rude waiters. Food also did not taste good, the tandoori platter seemed undercooked and the butter chicken and akhbari chicken were below average. (Although the bhindi and black

We arrived early as we were going to the theater for the first time post Covid. What a great historic building replete with original detailing.

Due to such an early arrival, we were the first here. The menu was very full of choices of all sorts of dishes, some I have never seen before. My Indian husband was familiar with them, but also wide eyed that their were so many dishes not usually available here in San Francisco

We had the Bari pakoras, Tandoori chicken and the Lamb Bhuna. All were quite tasty!

Although we skipped pre-dinner cocktails, we noticed how inexpensive they are ($7) as

I came here with 2 friends, the chefs tasting menu is made for two but they modified it for 3 easy peasy! It was truly a magical experience. We were so torn by all the wonderful menu options we just couldn't choose and the Chef's tasting menu was the perfect solution! Every course was incredibly delectable, the perfect combination of different flavors, so complimentary and unique. The chutney sauces were good enough to drink! We would have taken home a whole jug if they would have let us! The atmosphere was so gorgeous and felt comfortably sophisticated! The staff was so friendly and

Beautiful place and the service was really good as well. The owner was kind and talked to us about the years the business has been open and other things. Great! Now, the food was not so great. The starters (we ordered the platter) were over fried, reheated, a little dry and nothing special. The butter chicken was quite small, flavorless and having lived in the UK and eaten many curries, it could have been also re heated, dry chicken and only warm… rice and naan were standard.
In response to the owner.
Nothing was bad or to be made into a complaint, just average. If not reheated, the chefs are

Must go to place if you staying in Downtown and craving for authentic Indian food

Great customer service. The owner was very nice and friendly to us. The authentic flavor is there in the tikka masala and butter chicken. Samosa with chutney was delicious. I would definitely come back for dinner and recommend my friends/family to try this place out. Pricing was fair for the portion!

New Delhi is the absolute best Indian restaurant in San Francisco hands down. The mouth watering flavors, the drinks and the service were outstanding. We felt at home. This was an amazing cultural experience that brought back familiar childhood memories of eating similar flavors in Jamaica. I’m coming back soon! Thank you Mr. Ranjan Dey and your team for making our experience memorable 💕
