Ordered a few things. Some good some were not.

I can start by saying that the Beef Pho is not really beef pho. I'm almost positive it wasn't a beef broth. Broth flavorless with a ton of whole black peppercorn... Wait what? Black peppercorn? In Pho????????? Anyways... No cilantro or any flavor in the broth. Just spice.

My wife had the beef and onion noodle salad which she said was decent.

The saving grace was the bbq honey pork rice. A little dry, but the flavors were right on. They used jasmine rice instead of broken rice. The pickled daikon and carrots tasted a little off as well

Food is absolutely terrible and it took them an hour. To be fair I got a cheese burger and crab Rangoon's. If it was so bad I had to review

We love Gaveston Cafe! The Ban Mi's are GREAT. Everything is so fresh, you can tell the owner really puts a lot of effort into making sure everything is up to his standards. No MSG!! And now he has created a little Oasis outside the cafe for outdoor dining. Make sure you look in the pots for the fish swimming around.

Food is very fresh and tasty! The BBQ beef sandwich is worth the trip.. trust me! it is sooo good! the pizza is also excellent - BUT not when you go to heat it up the next day.. weird? But it was amazing when we had a slice in the restaurant. The owner has passion and it shows in his food!

BUT if you are in a rush, this is NOT the place to go! For two BBQ beef sandwiches we waited at least 45 minutes. Was it worth the wait - YES! Does everything come out very slow - YES! but it is worth it for fresh food!

I should preface the review saying I was in the area for a doctors appointment and had never been to Quincy's Marina Bay so popped into my GPS and after a few hiccups, finally made it. While admiring the gorgeous view on this chilly day, I went on Yelp to search for a fun dinner for me and hubs for later and this place was close by, and the reviews were good so thought, yes, let's try it. It's mostly take out only especially on such a chilly day as today but in nicer days there is a patio to indulge your senses.

Best food in Marina Bay!

We have eaten at every restaurant in Marina Bay, but Galveston's is consistently the best food. It's not a sit-down restaurant, although they do have a few tables outside to use. It's more of a place to order takeout and walk down to Squantum Point for a picnic overlooking the sunset. They even sell chilled wine in a carton to take with you.

The menu is mostly Vietnamese, but also has something for everyone with pizzas and subs. My Dad gets a Steakbomb every time he visits from New York. My favorite dish is the beef stir fry, although all of the

Hands down the best food in Marina Bay. A hidden gem!

First, the "bad" ... this is primarily a "pick up" kitchen instead of an "eat in" restaurant, although they do have a few interior tables and some basic patio tables outside, which you should use when the weather is nice. It is essentially the inverse of every other restaurant in Marina Bay, which are all huge and have great seating / ambiance / views, but mediocre (or downright bad) food ... this place is tiny, but has great food (regardless what you order), and it's up to you to find priority seating with

Gaveston Cafe is really excellent. Great food, really nice folks and splendid outside view of the Marina. Love the Peking ravioli, the pho ga, the pizza as well as the sandwiches. The Italian and the steak bomb sandwiches are especially wonderful; so too the Vietnamese ban mi.

Updated: in addition to the excellent pho ga, the ox tail pho is absolutely incredible. So too the stir fry noodles and stir fry rice. The bread for the sandwiches is excellent French style bread, that we just cannot find elsewhere.

The owner "Gavi" is absolutely charming, if you come when the place is not too

Updating my review here: Since my last review (3 stars) was a while ago, I have since tried more of the menu and I am impressed, the fried rice is amazing, the 2 people who work there are fantastic as week, really nice. The only kinda bad thing about this place is that it's slightly overpriced and that's it, besides that it's a great local shop with good food.

Customer service is the last thing they care about.
I live and have a boat at Marina Bay would rather drive somewhere else then purchase anything from Gaveston's.
The inventory in the store as well as the menu are all over the place. Nothing is consistent. Meat lovers pizza.....$32, extremely long wait, no flavor, not that big of a pizza....for $32! As I was waiting I saw them utilize their two microwaves more times than I want to remember. Frozen meat and nothing seems fresh. Prices are through the roof. I don't mind paying for expensive food if it's good quality and has

I am so selective where I choose to go for Bahn Mi, etc. I absolutely love going to Marina Bay and ordering take out for the work week! Although I live locally, I often get my Asian food in Wellesley, Westwood, Natick, but this is one place locally which I rely on for great food!!

Best tofu banh mi I've had to date (tip: ask for extra raddish and aioli). Huge menu with many enticing options - mostly asian based. The standouts are the noodle salads, banh mi sandwiches, summer rolls, and surprisingly, the pizza (tip: buy a whole pizza so you get it fresh). Even the french fries are quality. If you're looking for a grilled cheese sandwich, that's one of the few things to avoid here (but do get the world-class sourdough+tomato one from the Marina Bay Cafe nearby).

Walking inside might give you second thoughts - barebones building with exposed infrastructure overhead

Stopped in recently and had the Saigon BBQ Beef Noodle Salad. Delicious. Bought wine to go with it at a price that was $1.00 less than the sale price for the same wine at Stop & Shop.
Read a review dissing the service. I've always been greeted promptly and cordially and my order taken promptly. You may wait a bit longer for your food to be… served but that is because it is made to order and fresh. The chef is very accommodating and will tailor your dish to your tastes. (Degree of "hot" or "no cilantro" etc. ) Gaveston's is an asset to the Marina Bay community.

Reasonable prices, we just did a few different entrees (Beef and Jasmine Rice Platter, Chicken pho, and Chicken Pad Thai). Don't be fooled, they also have a great american side to their menu as well.

They provide very little and hardly can have someone to ring you up. There are flies that are around the produce section if there is anything there to begin with. If you need a quick 30 pack of beer to head out on the boat- then that's the place

Best place hands down in Marina Bay. I’ve lived here for over 10 years and honestly I hate all the restaurants here except this one!
The owner is amazing and he makes the best food. It’s Always Fresh ingredients and you can tell he has a passion for cooking and serving the best quality food. Don’t waste your time eating at the other restaurants in… the marina, their quality of food doesn’t even come close to here, all they have is a view if you can even call it that with the new buildings/apartments they recently put up here. If you want quality food come here!

First of all. The banh mi is the best I've ever had. I mean wow!!! At first this place may not look like much but the food is phenomenal! Had the beef banh mi which was great (although I'd ask for it extra spicy next time). The shrimp summer rolls were super fresh with a great dipping sauce. The vegetarian noodle soup also had a great flavor although I'd ask for extra veggies because I love veggies. Can't wait to try more things here. Also the owners are super friendly. AND you can get wine and botta boxes. What more do you need??? Love it!

Pretty good sandwiches at this cafe in Marina Bay! There's nice seaside seating outside a bit, and my friends thought the banh mi's were better than expected. We've had slightly better banh mi's and sandwiches but this was nice for the mostly more expensive restaurants around the area. Also a small shop connected to Gaveston's, so easy to pick up a few drinks while waiting!
