Services
The tostada ceviche appetizer is such a huge portion that it's a sharable plate for 2-3. I was expecting it to be marinated in lime to give it a more lemony taste but none the less it is really good and tastes really fresh. We've been several times and always enjoy ourselves. The food is good quality, prices aren't bad, and the staff has always been friendly.
Palapa absolutely has the best Happy Hour around SB! Some customers have been coming weekly for 10 years! Chips and salsa is ALWAYS complimentary. For the view of the mountains and the friendly staff, you just can't beat the deals. We start at 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Drink specials and food choices for the money are a great way to introduce yourself to the Palapa way of business.

Despite an impressive looking menu, the food served in this restaurant is the worst I have ever tasted! My husband had the tamales and I had the tostada with grilled vegetables. My tostada came swimming in some kind of juice so the tortilla that should have been crispy was a soggy mess. The vegetables were also only half cooked and consisted primarily of carrots that were till crunchy. My husband’s tamales had a weird texture and tasted awful. Both were totally disgusting. I can’t imagine the restaurant being able to survive without unsuspecting victims like us, staying at the Hyatt Place next

Be aware they charge you $1 for each water. The other thing was that we ordered a kids burrito and it didn't come out with the food. We let the server know and she left to go get it but then the original waiter immediately came to us super defensive saying 3 or 4 times that we didn't order it. We weren't mad as it was not a big deal, but I didn't appreciate him coming over and essentially arguing about it. He seemed pretty upset at us for some reason. It's a bean and cheese burrito- takes 30 seconds to make, why so mad?
In the future, just correct the order

We've been several times and always enjoy ourselves. The food is good quality, prices aren't bad, and the staff has always been friendly. They'll meet you with chips and salsa before you even have a chance to sit down.
I've had fish that tasted fresh, burritos that were legit, and a torta that was absolutely delicious. Friends and family have had enchiladas, soup, tacos, and more. I have yet to hear of a complaint.
