Skyland Camp & Retreats is a beautiful mountain getaway that is steeped in history, love, and a whole lot of fun. Skyland began as a mountain hotel in the late 1800s, served as a privately-owned overnight camp for girls for more than 100 years, and is now serving girls, women, families (and humanity!) in new and beautiful ways.
The Skyland property, with its tree-lined paths, babbling brooks, and cabins with screened-in sleeping porches, is the perfect location for you to experience one of our mini-camps, host a family reunion, or participate in one of our equine programs. Mountain Yoga Retreat with Shellie Chiet for a week full of relaxation and meditation in nature, with a little bit of adventure thrown in.

We believe that what we do every day has the power to change the world. Every conversation, every experience and every moment is an opportunity to uplift another person and to inspire greatness. At Skyland Camp, we take that responsibility seriously. Through Meaningful Moments, Creative Conversations and Inspiring Interactions, lives are transformed, inspiration ignited and worlds changed.
Skyland campers spend time each day in a mix of core activities and camp electives that allow them to craft their own unique schedules. Games, musical theatre, and swimming unite campers through all-camp performances and team events, creating a shared camper experience and a strengthened community at our all girls summer camp in nc.
Beyond hitting a bullseye, archery teaches awareness of one's body and position, persistence, and self-control. A combination of shooting drills, practice rounds, and creative games help campers learn the art of archery using both compound and recurve bows.
Classes one day may include aiming at apples on top of the targets, while another day may find the Archery Instructors leading you in a game of target tic-tac-toe to improve your aim and stance!Cooking and making delicious food dishes are a fun way to awaken the senses as well as teach empowerment and self-sufficiency.

Skyland Camp for Girls is located just 25 miles west of Asheville, North Caroline, near the entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Great Smoky Mountains, and Pisgah National Forest. Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is about 140 miles from Skyland and offers some families greater direct-flight options.
It's Skyland's amazing staff. Staff members create experiences that are so unforgettable that campers return year after year, and families rave about their camper's experiences. In fact, when campers age out of their camping days, they often return to work at Skyland so they can help create the same kind of priceless summertime memories for the next generation of campers.

My daughter, a rising sixth grader, just spent the first of what I hope will be many visits to Skyland Camp for Girls. I picked Skyland because of the smaller number of campers accepted per session, the location, the swimming pool, the variety and number of activites offered, and the philosophy, as well as its established history and family ownership. My daughter had a wonderful time, made several new friends, seems more comfortable with herself and her strong, independent nature, and she loved the food. I am chuffed, and we have already committed for next year.

MY daughters found out about Skyland Camp for Girls at a Camp Expo in Arden. Kay is the camp director and the "doorway" to this wonderful camp. She cares about young women and the girls can feel this in everything she says. This camp's "bells and whistles" is actually it's rustic unadulterated charm. The Big House houses the younger girls and is the hub of the camp. The older girls are housed in wonderful cabins with screened in sleeping areas. In addition to daily activities of Archery, horseback riding and swimming, the girls are treated to off campus hikes an overnight and tubing. The camp crescendos
