Eye exams are an essential part of preventive health care, regardless of your age or overall health. Nearly 11 million Americans need some kind of vision correction, and eye exams are important for determining your required prescription. But they do much more than this. Eye exams are crucial for detecting and ensuring the swift treatment of vision-threatening ocular diseases.
Your child's eyes are incredibly valuable to their ongoing growth and development. Good vision accounts for 80% of what your child learns, which means protecting their eyesight is imperative to ensure they have the necessary resources for future success. During the first 6 years of their life, your child's eyes will experience rapid changes.
If you're someone with diabetes, you're likely familiar with your increased risk of diabetic eye disease. Over time, diabetes can cause damage to your eyes that can affect your vision and overall health. Having your optometrist evaluate your eyes regularly can ensure any early signs of eye disease are spotted before they cause permanent damage.
Contact lenses are thin plastic lenses that sit directly on the eye to provide vision correction for various vision issues. Many patients prefer to wear contact lenses to glasses as a less bulky alternative to achieve clear vision. For individuals that live active lifestyles or have occupations where eyeglasses can get in the way, contact lenses are a great option.

When I was 30 minutes late for an appointment to have my glasses adjusted, I knew the assistant might not be available. Both front desk staff were busy with other customers. To my pleasant surprise, another staff member came out immediately from a different work area to offer to help me. That was Frannie, who did an expert job adjusting my glasses. I think now I won’t have to be going in for adjustment every few weeks! She also helped me to find a second pair of frames, along with Deborah, the original person with whom I had made the appointment, when she became available. They were both very

I only needed to pick up contacts I ordered and already paid over the phone. They required that I make an appointment. Ended up having to be another week out for a 3 minute process! They do not make it easy for the patient. I understand it is Covid time, however, when I came to pick up, there were more staff in the office than customers!
Also, I called back after about 3 weeks after I ordered the contacts without hearing from them. The front desk claimed they have called me to notify me. If someone did call, they did not leave a message, so I would not have known the contacts arrived.
It gives

I'm a repeat customer because Dr. Ashley Tjoe is such a great doctor, highly intelligent and fun to visit with. Their office is meticulously clean, well organized and easy access. They honor their appointment times unlike the last business I used to dread visiting. The best decision I ever made was switching from Contra Costa Eye Medical Group to Diablo Valley Optometric Group. I highly recommend Diablo Valley Optometric Group.
