Moxie's is a local family-owned restaurant with two locations in Reno, Nevada. The original Moxie's, on Caughlin Parkway in southwest Reno, opened in 2000 and features a full dining area, large bar, dog-friendly garden patio, and gorgeous panoramic views of Reno. Our second location, on Robb Drive in Northwest Reno, opened in 2005 and features a full dining area, a separate "adults only" bar area with dining, and a dog-friendly garden patio.
Moxie's has a full bar selection, along with a complete wine list (most available by the glass) and a variety of beers, both on tap and in the bottle. We provide full lunch and dinner menus that will satisfy those just wanting something simple or those wanting a full dining experience. Our focus is to provide you with a casual, comfortable, and mature atmosphere to relax and enjoy food and drinks.

Another great time at Moxie's! We stopped in on Saturday for drinks and snacks. They have the friendliest bartenders in town! They are so welcoming and provide excellent service every time.
I love that they always have a large number of specials. We split the pork egg rolls and the potatoes skins. Both were perfectly cooked and oh so delicious. Fair pricing and generous portions make this place a great stop. We will definitely be back!

Had a really good lunch at this place. The coconut shrimp were huge! I had the fish and chips which were fantastic. The bar area is big and very inviting to hang out and have a drink. It was a little cold out so we couldn’t go outside on the side patio, but the views are absolutely breathtaking of the valley. I will definitely be back

My husband Joey asked me to do an update and it's well deserved. We had a free time the other night. Went in a little late. Empty I think one person was in there besides us. Bradley our waiter was fast, accommodating, professional and even took the time to explain the recipe of their chicken piccata. It beats Biscotti's by just a hare. It's the mushroom and cream mixed with everything else. My only issue due to COVID the menu changed leading to the removal of the brie and fig jam burger. Bradley had never heard of it because he started right after it was taken off. He did leave a

Moxie's is a casual place with very friendly staff. Its a comfortable place and you'll see a lot of locals hanging out there. They have a wide variety of food choices and everything I have tried over the last couple of years has been very good. Its definitely not a destination location but if you're in the area its worth considering.

This place is the definition of a hidden gem!
We visited Moxie's on a Friday night and they sat us right away. Our server Casey was kind and friendly to our 4-year-old, which always gives me the warm and fuzzies about any restaurant!
We started with wine, clam chowder, and calamari fries, all of which came out super duper quick! The chowder was hot and amazing, probably one of the best clam chowders we've had in the area. Our server told us it was homemade, which explains the creamy dreamy texture and abundance of tender clams throughout! The calamari fries were also piping hot and

Was not very impressed by the service. I ordered a salad had to ask for it again asked for no sour cream an still got it. Asked to sit next to the window an was told I could not because we only had two people not 4. There was tables open. Eventually got the option to move by then I was frustrated with the service anyway. Then the good order getting jacked up. I have been here many many times over the years I will NOT be going back.

We were always fans of Moxies on Sharlands..Today we went in for some favorites . Calamari came out as some kind of sticks instead of body parts fried. my burger was dry and had no tomato ,onion , or lettuce as it was before . i was told there is a new chef..my advice would be to try and rehire the old chef . won't be going back..

We dined at Moxie's for lunch. The woman who served us was very sweet. The food was just ok. We ordered the San Francisco burger and it didn't have any seasoning. It tasted like ground beef on sourdough. My husband orders the fish and chips and the fries tasted like fish. I got the Moxie mixed green salad that was ok. We probably wouldn't chose this restaurant again. There was only other party their but we did dine at about 3 for lunch.

Just had dinner again at Moxie's at Robb and Sharlands. As usual the food was great as well as the service. My youngest has food allergies and they go out of their way to provide an allergy free dinner. The thirteen year old asked me as we were leaving "Why are the people who work here always so nice."

I enjoyed a meal there last fall.
However, I went there yesterday and I had to leave shortly after I sat down. There were at least 5 dirty tables which indicates not much attention is placed on cleanlines which is unappetizing. Then the stink of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. I mean very overwhelming. I just had to get out of there.

My wife and I came here about 1 pm on a Saturday. It was not very busy and we were seated right away.
The place has two sides, the first says it is for 21 and older only. This area has the bar, slots and allows smoking. The other side is a dining area with one TV. Although we usually enjoy sitting at the bar and playing some slots, we sat in the dining area to avoid the smoke but could still smell it slightly on occasion.
We both thought the dining area and restrooms were very clean and the menu has quite a few options.
We ordered a small basket of onion rings for an appetizer. My wife ordered

My boyfriend and I went to Moxy's last weekend for lunch on his suggestion. He had told me about it a few times and I just never got the chance to stop in.
We both smoke so we went to the smoking area (thumbs up Moxie's for having a smoking section in this day and age.)
Moxie's has a very impressive, warm and inviting ambiance to it. The dark wood bar along with the modern lighting features compliment each other well. I appreciate the demographic during the lunch hour, it feels much more upscale than your typical "bar & lounge" would be and you can still watch

I have been to this Moxie's location more than 6 times now, and the quality is variable, and that's not a great thing.
I've eaten some amazing meals here, and on other occasions I thought I had been salted to death by the soup. I guess intermittent reward is as effective as they say...
"Intermittent Reinforcement is a term that originated from B.F. Skinner's theories on Operant Conditioning and Behaviorism. Intermittent reinforcement is given only part of the time a subject gives the desired response."
When the meal is great, I congratulate myself on having come
