This place was delicious! I ordered a fish taco and a grilled shrimp taco, both which come with a side of chips. The beer battered fish taco tasted very fresh, not overwhelming in the slightest. The shrimp taco was very fresh as well and packed a little more flavor as it is topped with a mango pico de Gallo. The tacos come with a side of chips and tomato Pico de gallo. Delicious! There is seating right outside, but if you get the tacos to go, you can eat them closer to the harbor, which is what we did. The only downside is the price, each taco is $5.75, it looks like they used to be $4.50 as these

How can anyone give this less than four stars? The food here is the prepared perfectly almost every time, the calamari can be a bit tough but the fish and chips, great. The chowder is thick and creamy , the salad was fresh and crisp.
Always a stop for us when we are in town.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch on the way to San Francisco. The service was fast, the food incredible (I ordered a Baja shrimp taco and it came with chips and pico de gallo. The chips and pico aren’t anything to write home about, but my god, the taco. I’m still salivating 18 hours later), and the views and environment better still! I’m definitely coming here next time I’m in Santa Barbara

Decided to pick up a burrito after a long morning walk.

What I ordered:
- Chorizo breakfast burrito: I love a good breakfast burrito and this did not disappoint. What got me was the tater tots! I love a tater tot and they added a nice bit of texture to the burrito. Came with some pico de gallo on the side.

Pros:
- Open early! I wasn't expecting to get breakfast, but after my long walk I was happy to see this place open
- Located next to the SB Harbor/Marina area, there are lots of little shops and restaurants, but this was one of the few places open early morning.
- Staff was friendly

One of the better Clam Chowders we have tasted in Santa Barbara. It even came with sourdough bread and oyster crackers. Creamy and has good amoutn of clams. Very tasty!

Fish & chips are amazing, period. Detailed breakdown below:

**Service, 4/5** I come here probably once a month and it's a hit or miss how friendly the staff are. Most are awesome, but there are 1-2 people who act irritated when I order -- maybe they were just having a bad/busy day?

**Decor & cleanliness, 5/5** Limited decor but it's on the harbor which has a lovely view. The staff wears masks.

**Price & portion, 5/5** The prices are pretty reasonable and the portions always fill me up. Usually I can't even finish!

**Food, 4/5**

- Fish & chips (~$13), 5/5: Probably

Got lucky with no long line this time. You go inside to order, wait outside & they being you your food, which was very tasty. Would have been nice to provide some spicy salsa, or even small containers of chunky salsa with the fish tacos. They had containers of ketchup to pick up, but not of salsa. But when they were asked, they gave us some chunky salsa. We were surprised to see they added tortilla chips with the taco, and potato chips with the wrap, which my husband raved about being so delicious. Outside seating was very limited.

I am a black man who went to order food and I was completely ignored and was interrupted while trying to order. I also went to ask for extra lemons I was completely dismissed. This is my first experience of Santa Barbara and I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone with especially with those young employees. 0 star if I was able. Food unseasoned.

The worst experience! I went to the restaurant tonight! The cashier was very rude and kept cutting me off while i was trying to order, then when i asked for more lemons from the other girl she rolled her eyes and gave me the worst attitude! I came home and the food made me even more disappointed! It was rushed and still not throughtly cooked! Will never come here again

May be my favorite spot so far. The Baja fish taco was outstanding. Coupled with the tots and a cold beer. Sitting outside in the cool air overlooking the boats and mountains made this spot extra spectacular. Everything was hot and fresh even at 2 pm. They definitely make to order. Well done. The birds are probably the only downfall. Some spray water bottles might be a great addition to the tables.

Wow, I thought I enjoyed this restaurants food, well that was until this recent morning when I order a breakfast bowl for $15 that was merely a somewhat decent froyo bowl of egg and bacon. Disappointed to say the least. :(

Much love for On The Alley, the food is delicious and relatively inexpensive! I would come here all the time when I was a college student for a quick meal. From burgers to breakfast burritos to Brophy Bros. classics, this casual harbor eatery has everything everybody will enjoy. Some of the menu items I've tried:

Fish & Chips - Always served piping hot and fresh out of the fryer. The batter is light and airy, with just enough crunch every bite. Perfectly flakey fish as well.

Clam Chowder - No need to travel to New England, Seattle, or Pismo! OTA's rendition is super creamy and savory

Great fish and chips, super fresh and tasty. Delicious burrito as well. Overall a great experience. A hole in the wall fun place with outside seating, partial view on the Harbour. Thirteen dollars for the Fish & Chips with fries and eight for the burrito is st. Barbara pricing. Little high.

Delicious and very filling breakfast. Enjoyed probably the biggest breakfast burrito, filled heavily with eggs, chorizo, and potatoes. We also enjoyed some wonderful French toast and waffles. Staff was very polite. We would certainly feel comfortable returning in the future.

A great seafood meal without the formality of a sit-down restaurant.

On The Alley is something of a hidden gem. It's not visible from the road or really even from the main harbor walkway for that matter. It's surrounded by a handful of full-service restaurants with a price tag to match. Why pay extra when you can get the same quality of food right here?

This restaurant is small, and the seating is on a front patio. Order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. This place has a good selection of quick seafood favorites as well as other casual items like sandwiches. I&apos

Fried chicken sandwich - it's okay. Would pass

Clam chowder - good and v comforting

Fried shrimp tacos - one of our favorites. An order comes w 2.

Delicious spot right on the wharf! I went with a group of 4 gals and we each ordered different dishes to try. If you don't mind sharing, then I would recommend to do so cause why not? My personal favorites from here though is definitely the fried shrimp tacos and clam chowder!

Best fish n chips I've had. The fish was so fresh and flaky. It was perfectly golden brown and evenly coated. The tartar sauce was delicious. The breaded shrimp were also very good. I also recommend the clam chowder, it is so creamy and tasty with big chunks of clams and veggies.

We were exhausted and just needed something to eat. We ordered online for pick up since it seemed super easy. Upon arrival, everything was ready and packed up well for us.

We got chicken tenders and fries, plus a cup of clam chowder. It ended up being really really good! Chicken tenders can be pretty basic and blah but these were super tasty. The clam chowder was also delicious. The fries were just okay, but the rest made up for it.

Everything was packed up in cardboard boxes and traveled well for takeout. I'd recommend trying this place out!

The restaurant is only open for take out right now and the food is great! We ordered fish and chips and the grilled cheese and ate by the beach on a sunny day. The fried fish was crispy outside and soft inside, and the sauce to go with the fish made it even better!

For a no fuss, straightforward, fresh delicious meal, On The Alley is a perfect stop. They're located at the harbor and are located near Brophy Bros.

It's first come first served and there's only a couple communal outdoor tables, so takeout and going elsewhere seems like good idea.

We stopped in for a quick bite and had a good experience here. The line wasn't too long for a weekend afternoon when we stopped in. Food came out nicely prepared and served in a timely manner.

Fish & Chips - These were great! Well cooked, golden brown, perfectly crispy with a good batter and

We tried the Crab Cake Burger, the patty was tasty but the burger felt slightly dry. The place has a nice ambience of the harbor and great outdoor seating. House made potato chips were heavy!
