In case you missed my interview with Jim Bouchard, you can watch the full interview on the right. Today I prepared my mother's meatball recipe. This special recipe doesn't have garlic. Also we will be posting another recipe for our sauce so you can prepare this special meal at home. Sal is a Mover and Shaker!
For those who love martinis as much as appetizers, I've combined the two to create the Meatball-tini. These mini-meatballs (they are no bigger than a thimble) go down easily, and I can eat them like candy. Here's the southern Italian way of presenting roasted peppers, with garlic, capers, anchovies and olives creating a piquant dish.

Touristy? Yes. However as locals this place is amaze. True stuff your face Italian food. Literally my husband could not move for an hour. So so good. Just what you would expect. Sal the best. Comes out and visits the tables and asks if everyone is okay. He has been there 38 years. 38. Let that sink in. Would go back in a NY minute. Loved every minute of this visit!!

Been wanting to try this for a long time and finally made here on Christmas Eve. Our group wanted to come enjoy some god old school Italian with some history. All of the staff was friendly and we even had the head waiter serve us. Think he told us he's been there 42 years. Super nice guy! We sat downstairs, everything is dated, so the tables are small and the decor feels like original stuff. We didn't mind, we wanted old school. The bread came out, cold. We thought it should have been warm. We were worried. We started with some apps, the mozzarella, tomato and roasted peppers salad and

I first came aware of Patsy's because of Frank Sinatra and Peter Lawford and eat there a lot in the early 50's. Later when working as stuntman on "North By Northwest" in 58 I suggested to Cary Grant it would be a meal he'd love, and it was. When I first dinned it was Patsy's I was singing at a piano bar on 54th and the Patsy himself was chef and we chatted most time I went in. I also met young Joe. To or three years ago Wendy my wife and I had a chance to visit again and met Sal and family and recalled old memories, we were made very welcome.

This diamond in the hectic BROADWAY district has the most AMAZING service and homemade specialty Italian dishes.
First of all, guests are welcomed and have their coats checked, then, seated at a charming table where the wait staff are all professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable.
The homemade gnocchi and sauces were a reminder of my Italian grandmas. WOW.
And THE ICING ON THE CAKE, was not only the freshly prepared tiramisu, but the executive chef (and grandson of the owner patsy) personally came out to check on his guests and see how their food was.
One word … AMAZING!!!

What makes this spot absolutely charming and deserving of 5 stars is the family atmosphere and charm that you feel instantly upon entering this restaurant. (Reservation strongly recommended)
I've been coming here with my Dad once a year for at least two decades, and always have a great time and feel like I'm stepping back in time, inclusive of waiters that are all dressed in uniform with a napkin that is perfectly pressed over their arm, and the dessert cart that displays beautiful Italian treats like napoleons and ricotta cheesecake.

Went here for the first time based on reviews while visiting NYC. It was an intimate restaurant with amazing food and service. Family owned restaurant with Grandpa in a tuxedo pushing the dessert cart! I never thought I liked tiramisu until I had it here. AMAZING! The Alfredo, spaghetti sauce & fried zucchini were on point. Give this little place a chance, you will not be disappointed!

Visiting from California, we met my husband's family here for dinner. The food was good, not great. The restaurant was really loud and crowded, which doesn't bother me. However, the reason for the three star review is because their lack of concern for the fact that we are in a pandemic and the staff either wasn't wearing a mask, or if they were, they had them pulled down below their chins. I don't want to get on a political soap box, but when you blatantly disregard rules, it makes me think twice about recommending this establishment.

Don't understand the negative reviews. Patsy's is a delightful experience, from the ease of making a reservation (always have one), to the attentive waiters, to the great food. We both had pastas ( Manicotti and Fra Diavolo). My only complaint was they ran out of Napoleon for dessert.
Otherwise, we loved it.

Looked forward to a great meal yet disappointed in quality and value. We had the Eggplant Parm. $27. The Eggplant had uncooked flour taste as the coating didn't seemed cooked the plate arrived with two small stacks, hardly any sauce and you think they would go broke to add a cup of pasta. Poor taste, poor value. Not coming back. Stale bread too.

This would be a hard no!
I have no idea why this place is so popular, the service is lousy and the food is bad.
When we arrived, we were quickly shown to our table. The waiter/server was very condescending to all the women in my party. When my mother asked about the preparation of a dish, he was nasty and condescending. When she asked if they could add something, he had to "mansplain" to her why it was wrong when we have gone to far better restaurants that prepared their food that way.
We asked what was in the green salad, he said "green salad." Thank you for being completely

Horrible! Ordered a take out order and this is what I received! Spent $80 for this?! Called the restaurant, all they can do is say “sorry”. Sorry for what making me paid $80 for basically not even a take out to go container that wasn’t even full! Have more bread than food. Mind you items were missing too. Highly disappointed; especially when I’ve been here twice before. Never again

Came to Patsy's on a Saturday, with no reservation. Room was pretty crowded, so we had low hopes. The staff were very service-minded though, arranging a table for us in just a couple of minutes. Enjoyed a light starter of tomato, grilled peppers and mozzarella, before indulging in today's special which was lasagna. Extremely tasty stuff, though the size of the portion was almost overwhelming haha.
The most impressive thing though (and I told the chef this when he came through to talk with some guests), was that I could *feel* that this was food made from the heart. Patsy's will probably never

Came here because Howard Stern bangs on about the eggplant parm. From the moment I made the reservation to the second we left the restaurant, this was a fantastic experience.
This is the nicest family-run restaurant ever. They were all SO incredibly nice, accommodating, easy going (we changed the reservation then were running late AND we had a service dog)...like Southern Hospitality nice which isn't the norm in NYC, but better because they're New Yorkers.
Anyway, of course we had to try the eggplant parm which we shared as an app. It was perfectly cooked, not too thick, and not

Wife and I ate there (again) Thurs. Great old world Italian food and great service. Sal the owner stopped to talk to the patrons to make sure everyone was happy and his son a friendly young man sat us. Love to patronize family owned businesses and to see a family working together....Excellent experience and can't wait to go back!

I really wanted to like this restaurant as it was highly recommended by one of my best friends. She hasn't been there in about 20 years and I'm afraid it may have gone downhill in those 20 years. One thing that really bothered me was very few of the restaurant employees were wearing masks. I understand that we all had to be vaccinated to be there and I assume all of the employees were vaccinated, but I know a lot of people that were vaccinated and still contracted Covid and two of those people actually died.
My meal at Patsy's was honestly the worst meal I have eaten in a long time

Honestly my first time here and I came with my mom. Normally not usually the type to write bad reviews but, this experience really bothered me. When we first sat, our waiter Danny I think was his name was polite at first. After we got our appetizers, he asked us if we were ready to order and was in such a hurry to grab the menus out of our hands.
And when my mother tried to confirm our order he was like yeah yeah. During the duration of our meal, these ladies had sat next to us and when they saw they were done with their bread, they automatically gave them a new basket. On the other hand, when

I surprised my Dad with Patsys takeout for Fathers Day. I called a few day before to ensure that take out would be available on Fathers Day. As usual, everyone I spoke to over the phone & in person were so friendly. My family has been going to Patsy's for years but take out was easier option this time.
All of the food was perfect (even as takeout).
The takeout order consisted of house salad,
Chicken Parmesan, spaghetti & meatballs, tortellini Alfredo with peas & prosciutto & shrimp scampi served on spaghetti. They included a generous amount of bread & butter. Amazing

It was really great to be able to go to Patsys in New Jersey! Their location in Asbury park is easy to go to and a nice break from the city. I was happy to support this business during Covid.
Patsys really did a great job by bringing the New York feel to New Jersey. The Decour had lots of all-time photos and you really had that Italian family vibe. The staff was really friendly and attentive.
The three stars is actually for the food I was pretty disappointed with it expecting really five-star food. It was good Italian food not great. For an appetizer we ordered the fresh mozzarella and for dinner
