Dell'anima
Our menu offerings change daily and we use local, seasonal, and sustainably harvested produce where possible. Executive Chef Andrew Whitney's menu features a selection of pastas made fresh in house every day, traditional dishes rarely found outside of Italy, and his own Italian-inspired creations. More recently, dell'anima moved to Hell's Kitchen in Gotham West Market just a few blocks away from Times Square on 44th Street and 11th Avenue.

Very good food and a fun concept to be a restaurant inside of a food hall. Everything I had was delicious especially the tagliatelle bolognese. Also was a huge fan of the rice balls and the seasonal salad

A bit torn here. My husband LOVES Dell'anima. It's one of his favorite spots in Hell's Kitchen. Many times it's pretty awesome food, though not the greatest ambiance or atmosphere being located inside. The lights are typically off in the dining area and it feels more like a cafeteria than a restaurant, where people with food from other spots can sit, which is kind of disruptive.

In the past service has been good, if not great. But this last time, which really really really left a bad taste in my mouth, the server was just awful. She seemed to hate her job. She was rude because

Been on a bit of an Italian food (specifically pasta) spree lately. dell'anima impressed me with its very high quality food; I also loved the ambiance and open kitchen concept.

I had the brussel sprouts and bolognese. The brussel sprouts were quite literally the best CRISPY brussel sprouts I've ever had, and this is a must-try if you come here. The crispy brussell sprouts with the crunchy pepitas are the perfect side to any of the comforting pastas.

The bolognese was also very good, maybe could've used a pinch of salt, but the pasta was perfectly al dente, and bolognese sauce still

Our dinner at dell'anima exceeded expectations. Really enjoyed the meal and experience. Sitting at the chefs table and watching the food being prepared was really fun. Also led to a bit of FOMO after we placed our order but will just need to visit again. We started with the Arancini and Bone marrow. Then had 2 of the pastas - bucatini and trofie. And finished with the chicken. Everything was great from start to finish. Can't wait to visit again!

Make your reservations and go! Everything was so outstandingly delicious and we loved being able to watch the chef/owner create our dishes and listen to his conversations
Yes, I saw other reviews comment that the tagliolini was too peppery but *ahem* it's cacio e Pepe. It's perfectly peppery. PERFECT I SAY! Don't change it please.
Hubby ordered the bolognese and that was incredibly delicious as well. The charred octopus: so tender and the rice beans were interesting, never had them before. The little chorizo slivers heightened the flavor and I think there was a squeeze of lemon

Haven't been to dell'anima since they moved to Gotham Market from West Village. Was in the area and stopped by for a great meal.

I had;

Bone marrow appetizer - excellent, and a good sized portion
Tagliolini - very good

If your at Gotham Market I would highly recommend dell'anima over the other options. Granted it's more of a traditional restaurant and pricer than the kiosk style of most places in the market, however in terms of quality it's the best.

Chef Andrew is the best. Great wine list. Amazing homemade pastas. Always finish the meal with the chicken.

This restaurant is spectacular. It is unassuming by appearance but don't let that fool you. The flavors are spectacular. We got the Burrata and I ordered the Carbonara. The Burrata was absolutely delicious. I wish other places served their Burrata on pesto. The Carbonara is made with fresh pasta and it's absolutely delicious. I think this might be one of the best carbonara dishes I have ever had.

I came here today for the 1st time ever for lunch and I wasn't disappointed. My friends and I shared 3 apps and the Arrabbiata Pasta. The pastas are pre-portioned out and cooked to serve. The chef cooked it perfectly al dente. This was my favorite pasta dish in Hell's Kitchen and I have been living here for over a decade!
The Calamari, Eggplant All Puttanesca and Bruschetta were also lovely. Our server was attentive and friendly and we also had to do a temp check upon checking in indoors into Gotham West Market and we were given a wrist band to wear, which the host graciously cut off

Torn - the pasta itself tasted homemade and quite good, but the flavors were way way too peppery for me, and I've never had that complaints. Had the cacio e Pepe, and a pasta with mushrooms. I'd definitely try dell'anima again and would ask for dishes with very little pepper! Ordered delivery, and had no complaints about the delivery process snd food packaging.

If you're ever in Hell's Kitchen, you need to stop here. If not, you need to go to Hell's Kitchen. Right now, they're gradually allowing customers to eat inside with reservations and temperature scans. However, the Gotham West Market (where they're located) has nice, airy outdoor eating areas. When it comes to the food, it's delicious. We got the bucatini alla arrabiata and the tagliolini Cacio e Pepe. Both were absolutely delightful. Beyond that, we also got the charred cauliflower and Brussels sprouts sides. The cauli was good, without a doubt. But those sprouts

Fab 5 Freddie!!! Fabulous. Everything was superb. I generalize because my partner ordered everything and I didn't pay attention. One standout, you Must try the Bone Marrow. I thought 'eww', but I was pleasantly surprised. We brought our own wine, so there's that. Loved it.

Dining out during covid times may seem weird, like life is these days. Went to the Gotham West Market and ordered from Dell'anima. The entire block has the parking lane set up with tables for outdoor dining. It took awhile to get the attention of staff to ask about how to order. We were told told find a table and someone would come help us. No one came to our table. After ~15 min we checked the menu online and I went back to the window to order. It was a rough start but by the time we were able to order and the food came out, then everything was upwards from there. We had table service and

Before I moved to New York, this was the one restaurant I always HAD to visit when I was in town. I found them completely by accident while attending a convention at the Javits; they came up as a highly-rated Italian restaurant on google maps. Since google reviews were why I found this amazing little restaurant in the first place, I feel compelled to post one of my own.

There is no experience quite like sitting at the counter watching the chefs prepare your meal to order, seeing the care and effort that goes into making these dishes--and the smells are incredible. Every time I come I discover

Really enjoyed my time here at dell'anima. This place happened to be both my last restaurant visited pre-quarantine and my first restaurant visited post-quarantine.

Pre-quarantine: We didn't know dell'anima is located inside a food hall until we got there but nevertheless, it didn't feel like it when we were seated. I really enjoyed the Charred Octopus and the Carbonara. The waitstaff was very accommodating and we got about 2 bottles of wine. The fish was alright in my opinion but I actually enjoyed watching the cooks making it while we dined.

Post-quarantine: They really

Big fan of this place. Being a Hells Kitchen local, and being able to walk over to here for dinner - when the area really lacks local dining options - is truly appreciated by a foodie like me. Dell'anima is basically a kitchen counter no frills pasta and wine style Italian restaurant. You can tell the chefs and servers enjoy their job, I've seen some sneak a drink and cheers each other under the counter during a weekend night - which to me means they're having fun and enjoying the vibe just like the patrons. The pasta dishes here are great. And it's no BS, you sit, you eat,

To make it clear, this "restaurant" is in a food hall with several other small food stalls. There is picnic style seating, as well as seating at the bar where you can watch the chefs. (I was also told that were was a small quieter seating option in back - though never saw it).

The food was excellent, service good, and we enjoyed sitting at bar watching the cooking happen. It wasn't fancy but it was an experience and I'd do it

Octopus- excellent!
Sausage Risotto- reminded me of thanksgiving and home (my dad makes amazing sausage stuffing)
Kale salad- hit the spot! Also excellent

Absolutely incredible.
This place has very limited bar-only seating as part of Gotham Market, but man does it deliver. Super fun to watch these talented chefs do their magic.

I recommend the branzino (fun to watch them make this one), polenta, and orecchiette with sausage. Really great variations of traditional Italian dishes here.

Negroni is good too.

Wasn't terribly impressed, but had a tasty meal here overall. My boyfriend and I got a walk-in on a weeknight and sat outside, which was very pleasant.

We started with the charred octopus, which was fine, then the bone marrow. I liked the bone marrow but felt the portion could have been a little bigger, since they mix it with other stuff. For entrees, we shared the bolognese, the carbonara and a side of cauliflower. The carbonara and cauliflower were great, but for all of the hype, I actually found the tagliatelle Bolognese to be a bit bland. Almond cake for dessert was decent.
