This CU stepped in and helped federal employees subjected to the oppressive 2018-19 government shutdown in a way that few financial institutions (and certainly not banks) would. The peace of mind they gave me during that difficult time was a Godsend. Always had courteous and helpful customer service as well, in the nearly 10 years I have been a member. I intend to stay with them for keeps.

I am very happy with USECU, I’ve been a member for years. During the shutdown they were able to help me and when I need a car loan they walked me through the process.

You are only allowed 5 debit transactions per month. It's $1 per debit after that, so you have to remember to use your debit card as a credit card when making purchases. On-line banking goes down a lot.

So far so fair. Dividends for Share (Savings) accounts aren't robust to encourage saving.

Do not sign up with this Credit Union. They have horrible customer service and bad managers running the company. They do not follow up or send correspondence on account updates that lead to collections and ruin your credit rating. Melissa Miranda and Lisa Kimbrough work in concert to poorly bare minimum handle customer accounts. They not go above and beyond, they are a bare minimum or less organization. Don't do it!

I been with this company for over ten years. They don't care about loyal customers they just take and don't want to give nothing back in return. Applied for a loan and was denied after three previous loans in good standing .

If you work in the Loop's federal plaza, then there is something to be said for the convenience of access to surcharge-free ATMs right in your building. Plus there is a teller location in the Kluczynski Building. Other than that, I cannot rave about them at all. In terms of customer service, there are some perfectly pleasant employees, but I'd have to say they're outnumbered by the unfriendly ones. In particular, I tend to get perfectly dreadful people on the rare occasion I have to phone them. The credit union is also fee-crazy (but from what I understand, most banking institutions

I have been with this credit union for two years. They nickel and dime you for everything. The fees will drain your account. When you ask for courtesy fee reversals they say they don't have to. No customer support at all.

My husband and I joined this credit union after some of the major banks started charging fees for checking accounts. I thought the USECU would be great! No-fee checking account as long as you had direct debit of $500 or more. Done!

What no one told me when opening the account was that they have limits on what you can spend per day on your Visa debit card. During the first three months your account is open the maximum is $500 per day. After that, no matter how long your account is open it's $1,000 per day. You can call to have that limit raised for a one-time purchase, but that also requires
