The original location of the restaurant was opened on Morse Road. The original chef, Juliano, incorporated creative & authentic recipes from Italy to Columbus. Trattoria Roma quickly became a local favorite, a hidden gem of the city. In the spring of 2000, Trattoria Roma relocated to the beautiful strip on Grandview Avenue, the same year Chef Matt Prokopshak continued as an apprentice in the culinary program at Columbus State.

You may like the food or you may not agree with the flavor but no way you can call this bland. This is not Olive Garden. Every dish, even ones you think you know, comes at you from a different place than what youre used to. The calamari at first bite weirds you out but by the last bite, you’re pretty sure its the best you’ve had and thats how i can describe the menu.

I have eaten here three times. The first two times the food was delicious. Based on these experiences I brought my parents here for a celebratory dinner. Sadly, two of our 5 meals had undercooked meat. My daughter ordered the pork chop and this was raw in the middle. My salmon also appeared raw in the middle and was served lukewarm with a cold center. We sent the pork back, and the waiter was very polite, did apologize and took this meal off our bill. However, this really cut our appetites. I am not a great cook but I at least can serve pork fully cooked--I don't see much excuse for this and this

Lovely Italian restaurant in Grandview! I went there with some friends because we were craving some paste. It did not disappoint. They started us off with bread and it was delicious. I got a build-your-own pasta with pesto and really liked it. I will definitely be going back.
Great place for a meal with friends/family!

For being as expensive as it is, I expected much more. Very average Italian. I got fish with risotto and everything was too buttery-- no need to cover the dish in butter if it is high quality fish. The rest of my group got chicken parm and were not impressed. The chicken wasn't very thick and all of the sauces were a bit weird

My friends and I came to Trattoria last night for the first time and were quite pleased by our experience. The dining room was quiet enough to feel intimate but not so quiet you wouldn't want to have a good conversation with friends. We got a bottle of Chianti Placido, which was probably the sweetest Chianti I've tasted but still had that desired Tuscan flavor. To start, we had Caesar salad along with their complimentary bread and butter. The butter was filled with herbs and the star of the appetizer show even though it was the free part haha. Two of us ordered the taste of Italy which

Absolutely fantastic! From service, to atmosphere, to food. We live so close and had not tried this place, I am kicking myself now! Everything is reasonably priced and delicious. Sean, who we assumed to be manager or owner, was so kind! I have Celiac & places are rare where I can trust but they knocked it out if the park. Thank you so much Trattoria & staff

Delicious key lime martini, lasagna, stuffed meatball, creme brûlée, and bread n butter.. came here by chance behind another google review saying how amazing the stuffed meatball is and I completely agree .. a perfect experience with fast service, hot food, cold drinks…exactly what I would expect from an establishment of this caliber! Way to keep the reputation intact . Thankyou Marcus for being attentive, sincere and professional with your suggestions. Definitely will be coming back for happy hour 4-6 in the bar.

We were so excited to go here because we read other reviews.
We made a reservation on the fly and was only able to get a 7:45 pm spot.
We arrived and was greeted promptly. We sat down, received waters right away and we ordered appetizers. We were given the most delicious bread and butter and waited for our appetizers. We ordered the brushetta and the fried vegetable plate. The appetizers were delicious. They came and then we ordered.
There were 4 of us. Two adults and two teenagers. Our oldest ordered angel pasta with a vegan sauce. Our youngest daughter ordered a steak, with a ceasar salad

I am going to give this a four star even with the salty veal. So, my mom and I went here for dinner tonight with reservations at 6:00 on a Thursday night. We were the only ones there until about 7:00 then it filled up as filled up as restaurants can these days. The wine was good, the bread and butter was good, the lobster bisque was amazing,, but the veal saltimbocca (sp?) was crazy salty. Even my mom said it was way to salty and she loves salt. Any way we ate a little of the veal but just could not eat the rest. We told the server and she apologized and said she would let the chef know
