I was inspired to become an acupuncturist by an experience I can only describe as a calling. At the time, I had no intention of seeking a career in Chinese Medicine and the thought of going back to school and tackling a Masters was dawnting. However, as you often hear "when all doors close and only one door is open, " was my experience.
It was an overwhelming knowing that this is where I belonged and I have never looked back. I completed a Masters program in Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 1996 followed by a two year residency in Womens Medicine. I have been in private practice for over twenty years and love what I do.

Acupuncture is a part of one of the oldest written forms of medicine. Before we had a name for the nervous system, ancient acupuncture practitioners had identified it, mapped its major nerve pathways and nerve bundles and developed an elegant system of medicine that worked by discovering how to use our body's nervous system to heal itself.

Michelle Marcotte is fantastic. She is down to earth and so very soothing. I went to her based upon recommendations and it has been so successful. I had high anxiety and had regular treatments. I am back to Normal. I was so scared before I had the first treatment because I am so afraid of needles. She was so calming that I just felt very comfortable trying it. Highly recommend her. She is so professional without being cold. There was absolutely no pain in the treatment. She was realistic about the treatment explaining that it is a rollercoaster and no miracle tomorrow you are well. But

One of the reasons I chose to go to Michelle Marcotte at East County Acupuncture is that she is a licensed acupuncturist and certified Holistic Healthcare Practitioner who also holds a Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine. She is extremely knowledgeable about different diseases and ailments as well as the many different approaches to treatment. Michelle has a compassionate bedside manner that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. She listens carefully to your needs and communicates her knowledge of both Eastern and Western medicine. As you share your symptoms with her, Michelle is

Michelle is absolutely wonderful. I just started seeing her about 2 weeks ago and I have had 4 treatments with her so far. She makes me feel very comfortable and safe, and makes it very easy to relax. I was very nervous about trying acupuncture but she answers all my questions and makes sure I am always feeling good. Within the past 2 weeks I can say I have noticed a change on what we have been working on and I always look forward to going back. So if you are looking for clean, comfortable, affordable care Michelle is the way to go!
