It is my first time going to a sushi restaurant, so I do not have anything to compare it to, but Kura came highly recommended by a receptionist at Children's Hospital surgical center. We didn't go at that time, but kept it in mind. We were not disappointed, the food was very good. We ordered the lunch special #2, which had sashimi and sushi, and both were delicious.

My boyfriend and I love the sushi here and would order frequently. However, recently if you call for a To-go order they don’t answer the phone. We tried calling for 20 minutes and the phone just rang constantly. At one point someone picked up and then hung up on me. It’s very disappointing because we love the sushi. We now decide to eat elsewhere since they never answer.

Wow, what a disappointing nightmare of a mess with customer service. This restaurant is clearly understaffed, and I know a lot of restaurants are, so I always try to give restaurants grace, but...
We dined in person in December and it took 20 minutes before anyone even came over to offer us water, but ironically they greeted the other table that was sat after us got them water and took their order before they even addressed our party of four. Then last night we did take out and we were missing a roll and a our standard roll that we always order was smaller than usual. Strange! Today, I called back

Came in today (weeknight) and waited about 20 minutes to even be acknowledged to get seated.
Looks like they were having problems with the register. Which is fine, that happens.... However it's important to acknowledge the existence of the customers waiting to either be seated or those there for pick-up.
A lot of us left in frustration.
1 star is too generous for the poor customer service.

Food, gross. Service, awful. Honestly even my water tasted funny.
We didn't even eat our food. Just wanted to pay and leave only to find out they tried to over charge me $15 and then argue with me about it. Paid $48 for food we didn't even eat. Save yourself the money, Colorado Springs is NOT the place to eat sush

we used to regularly order from here at least once of week. But when schedules changed we started ordering later at night- and the quality took a serious dive.
One night we ordered hot spicy tuna rolls - same thing we always get. What we ordered was not what we got… it was half tuna/half crab and spicy Mayo. I brought them back in to say I got the wrong order (I’m mildly allergic to crab) - and the manager came out and tried to gaslight me- instead of saying sure “let me

Best sushi place in COS in my opinion! Me and my family have been going to this place for over two years, and enjoy going here whenever we are in the sushi mood. We even like the hibachi grill here too, the chef was entertaining and the food was delicious! Also, if you are not in the sushi mood they have different options like bento boxes, noodles, soups, and other wonderful yummy meats.
The service sometimes is slow, but they are kind and generous and make sure you are enjoying your meal!

It's been a while since I dined here. Was so disappointed- poor quality sushi, poor service- had to tell wait staff to bring appropriate # of serving plates and utensils, clear the miso soup bowls and empty platter to make space for the Kura sushi boat. Spilled water by the take our table was never cleaned up. Ambient noise level was loud and distracting. I'll go elsewhere.

Finally went and gave em a second shot and I get a roll that doesn't have the ingredients throughout. Definetly disappointed. Not worth the money.

Why is every slice slightly different in size? Slightly off is whatever. This is a bit stupid. The bottom of my roll was also not cut all the way through. Is it that hard to care about what you're doing?
Have some respect for the art and the product.

Highly recommend! We have eaten here throughout the pandemic, and they’re always courteous, safe, and consistent in quality. Most often we order takeout. While the wait can be a bit long now and then, they are always communicative and kind. Whenever we go into the the restaurant to eat, we’re seated quickly. The sushi is so good.
My favorite rolls are the spicy California roll, the Cadet roll, and the Diablo roll (tempura jalapeño on top, yum). They’re pictured in this review.

13 of us went out for the hibachi experience on my sisters birthday. We made reservations about a week prior and had no problems getting sat on time. The floors around the table however, were extremely sticky. It was gross. My shoes kept getting glued to the floors.
Our chef, Frankie, was nice. Though, we all found it quite odd that the entire dinner conversation revolved around him and his life and family... even though we told him we were all here to celebrate my sisters birthday.
Our server was absolutely in over her head. She was of little to no use at all. I oftentimes had to hunt her down

You know, I read all these other recent reviews about how terrible the service was, but I still thought we should try it. At 930pm and with empty bellies, I realize that was a poor decision. Waited 45 min to get seated when they kept telling us we were next to sit down. Waited 1.5 hours for dinner till we got up and left. You shouldn't be seating at full capacity if you don't have the staff to support all those customers plus online orders.

Ordered online and received an email stating the order would be ready in 45 minutes. 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, was told it would be another 15 to 20 minutes. Finally received the order 70 minutes after order was placed. Sushi was ok, nothing spectacular, higher prices than other places for simple rolls, and the rolls were loosely wrapped and fell apart. The staff never once apologized for the delay.

It took them forever to serve us. The restaurant was fairly empty since it was a Wednesday but the sushi took a long time to be prepared. It was partially due to the fact that some of the rolls included shrimp tempura and soft shell crab and the people in the kitchen did not cook those until the sushi chef went looking for them. Still, great service and the food presentation was outstanding. The price to food quality ratio is ok, maybe a good place for a celebration.

Still always the best service and fresh sushi around town! Whether you get all veggie rolls or sashimi or sushi or some of each, there is a roll or appetizer for everyone! I've never had a bad experience here and if you go online, in advance, and print the coupons you can save 10% one your whole bill or get buy one, get one 50% special rolls! Boom!

Kura has been my goto spot since I moved to The Springs they have some of the best sushi in the Brairgate area and also some of the best teppanyaki. Although this place is small and is always packed the service is still always spot on. If you are doing teppanyaki I would highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time! As the wait times can be a little ridiculous. Overall a definite must-try spot in the Brairgate Area.

This is my second favorite sushi place in town. We come here ALL the time. Especially because the kids LOVE it. And they are picky little monkeys! They won't eat sushi but they love the Bento boxes. My husband and I love the Nigiri, the baked mussels (with crab!), the Cadet and Research rolls. We love that we have a huge menu so you can bring (lame) friends who maybe don't like sushi.
Was a little surprised to see so many negative reviews about the staff. We come here about once a month and have never had that experience. Everyone has been sweet and wonderful. And incredibly patient
