Aloha Shack
With roots in Hawaii and Vietnam, ohana is what's most important at Aloha Shack. Chris and his wife, Theresa, grew up in Cali and Texas with food at the center of their family lives. Aloha Shack's recipes come from years of cooking in our moms' and grandmoms' kitchens where they learned the secret arts of Hawaiian and Asian cuisines.

Over the years they've honed their skills in the kitchen to bring you comfort food on a new level. Even if you're not from the islands, this food will take you home. The people of Reno agree, having voted Aloha Shack best food truck in RGJ's "Best of Reno" poll in 2017, our debut season! Our food truck was recognized again in the RN&R's "Best of Northern Nevada" in 2018.
Services
Katsu chicken, pepperjack cheese, Sriracha mayo, lettuce, and tomato on a sesame seed bun. Our homemade Hawaiian style macaroni salad starts with fresh, cooked elbow macaroni. Then we add black olive, onion, seasonings, and a creamy mayo dressing. It's a true crowd pleaser, and the traditional choice for the Hawaiian plate lunch or you can order it a la carte.

Great food and friendly staff! Just be warned, I would order in advance as it takes them about 20mins to prepare the food. Food for 3 cost about $50

This review is based on a first visit. We will try it again and update. The Katsu sandwich was good and tater tots were great. The pancit, however, was so salty I couldn't eat it. The employee offered to make it over but we couldn't stay and I'm not one to complain. We will go again and try other things on the menu.

We LOOOOVE the Aloha Shack! Chris and his family/crew are amazing people who bring such an awesome vibe to the Red Rock area.

The Shack Chicken is out of this world and is my favorite dish from here. My kiddo loves their teriyaki chicken bowl and tater tots. The mac and cheese is to die for as well as the pulled pork cheese shell tacos.

Yeah... everything we have had here has been delicious. I could make myself sick on the macaroni salad...

So, if you are looking for sublime food made by righteous dudes get your booty down to the Aloha Shack asap. Cowabunga Dudes!

I heard about this place through a co- worker and decided to try it out. Sad to say it wasn't what I hoped it would be. The food wasn't aromatic and not flavorful and the rice was soggy. Sorry folks this place is not for me. So far L&L on Mae Anne is the go to place ๐Ÿ‘

Food was good. I got enough shredded pork that I used the leftovers to make a pork sandwich the next day. First time visit. Prices are reasonable.

Aloha Shack is in a convenient location for us living im the Valleys. Service is always great, quick, & my order is always accurate. I am a big fan if the Teriyaki plate. I order the mini one, because the portion is rather large. The rice and seasoning on the tots are addicting! However, I am not a fan of the Lumpia. Excluding that, everything else has been great! If you get the opportunity, you should definitely give them a try.

We ordered yesterday and spend close to $50 on two meals. Both my husband and I were severely disappointed and left hungry. I ordered a Chef's Steak Plate and my husband a two protein plate. My steak had one corner that was red and the rest was a weird purplish color. The steak was TOUGH including the one red piece. It was also super salty. The… macaroni salad was dry and salty as well. The cabbage salad was gross and tasted like pure rice vinegar. My husband got some kind of pork and steak. He had 3 pieces of pork and way more steak. He had some steak grouped with the pork , covered in

Don't order after 7pm I guess. Our nacho chips were very stale. The mac n cheese was dry, hard, and not cheesy. The lumpia needed at least another min in the fryer ( the flavor was good though!) the pancit noodles were good and shack tots were good, needed a little more time frying too. I'd try again but was very sad tonight

I wish I lived closer to this place, because this is what the true flavors of Hawaii are. Everything is so fresh and seasoned down to the smallest of ingredients. You can definitely tell they take time and care to perfect the flavors in their dishes and it makes all the difference.

I enjoyed the pancit with chicken and sweet sausage and it was so addicting, I ended up finishing the entire portion by the end of the day. Their portion sizes are large and their pricing is comparable to any other Hawaiian place in town. I love that they have the classic plate lunch but also some items that you don

Very disappointing. Poor quality meat (x3), soggy bread (x2), stale chips, nasty cheese, wrong meat with meal (x1) & sold out/ unavailable item after 1 hour of opening??? (the reason for ordering in the 1st place) The ordering of their own supplies (food) and the unorganized pick-up are in need of serious re-thinking.

Food here was delicious!
Highly recommend.
Only negative is that my boyfriend asked for extra sauce and got a rude comment back about how the sauce cost money. When he had already placed a great tip for them in the tip jar.
Just unnecessary but other than that it was good.

I just discovered Aloha Shack wasn't too far from me and I'm so happy! My go-to is their Wasabi poke bowl because it's soo delicious. The tuna tastes fresh and the creaminess and spice of the wasabi is just right.

Other things I can surely recommend because they're also just as great-- kulua pork nachos and the kulua pork tacos (the taco shell is made of cheese, yummm)!

Still amazing food and great service.

Just a PSA about their Square payment service. Usually when you leave a tip, the tip is based on the subtotal (pre-tax). I have noticed that when you use their quick buttons (15%, 20% or 25%) to leave a tip that Square is calculating the total bill for the tip. For example, my last bill was $14.50 sub total + 1.20 tax and I hit the 20% button for the tip, which calculated the tip to be $3.14. The tip should have been based only on the sub total (food only) and should have been $2.90. Sure it's only $0.24, but that adds up. Still love this place

Ok so like... I'm a die hard, NdN Taco .. Native Taco.. Navajo Taco... whatever you want to call it, fan.
I'm a big, big fan.
So when I saw this as today's special over at Aloha Shack, I ran over. 25 minutes away didn't phase me. I had to get one.

Once I got there and the nice lady at the counter asked me if I wanted anything else...I couldn't help myself. Why yes...I'll have some Pork Lumpia too!

My order was made really fast for not having called it in first. But if you're an impatient Karen, they do take orders over the phone too, so your wait time would

Hawaiian food is one of the true culinary joys in this world, being soul food so rich and heavy that it's a wonder those islands don't sink into the sea from the shear weight of all the good stuff in these dishes. We know Aloha Shack as a long-time local food truck, and with their new brick-and-mortar location on Red Rock Road, they bring another much-needed addition to the food scene in the North Valleys.

The menu is not ultra-expansive, but covers all the big hitters of what you'd expect. A lot of typical island favorites, along with things like Poke Boles, burgers, wings, and

Okay, why have I not been here?
I feel like I'm super behind.

Anywho, I digress. Let's get to the point.
They serve Hawaiian food at Hawaiian food prices, decked out with Hawaiian decor, whilst playing a Disney Polynesian movie: Moana.

Why 4 out of 5 stars? Because I'm not a fan of the mac salad, BUT, my friend thinks that its the best in town, so, meh. BUT THAT CHICKEN KATSU? My fav! 10/5 if possible. Light breading for the win, and not hard or overcooked. Just delicious. Musubi reminds me of musubi in the Hawaii 7/11's, which means, it's bomb. Not gonna lie, I totally
