LASIK (Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) is a refractive surgery procedure used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. LASIK may reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses. LASIK has a wonderful record for both safety and effectiveness, with rapid recovery time and little or no postoperative discomfort.
Cataract Surgery to Restore your Sight | Providing Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Care Since 1914. A cataract is the clouding of the natural lens inside the eye. It can cause images to become distorted or blurred, bright colors to become dull and nighttime driving to become more difficult. While cataracts can be caused by other factors, the most are simply caused by natural aging and cannot be prevented.
At North Carolina Eye Ear Nose & Throat, we have a team of ophthalmologists who specialize in and have extensive knowledge of the retina and vitreous as well as the treatment of diseases and disorders affecting these important parts of the eye. Because of the thorough examination needed, required dilation, and testing needed to fully evaluate your vitreo retinal problem, your visit can take at least two-hours.
We pride ourselves on helping each patient in the selection of their frames and eyeglass lenses. Our opticians and optical assistants are well-versed on the latest lens technology to enhance our patients' visual acuity and to better support each patient on their choice in lenses. Each optical location hand selects an array of frames for display delivering the latest styles for your eyewear collection.

We highly recommend Dr. Li for cataract removal. My 82 year old parents (Lewis and Harriet Tilghman) had cataracts removed from both of their eyes in September and October 2018. Dr. Li is a very skilled surgeon and has a super bedside manner as well. Mom and Dad called the office days prior to the procedure because they had some last minute… questions. Dr. Li returned their call personally and answered all their questions and made them feel so comfortable. Both my parents healed quickly and got great results from the surgery. Thank you so much, Dr. Li. God bess you.

Very disappointed with Dr. Shaw. My wife presented with early cataracts in both eyes. Dr. Shaw replaced her lenses with a low cost lens ,that we have learned has a history of dysphotopsia. She went in several times to let him know that she was experiencing fogginess around the edges of her field of vision and he assured her it was nothing to worry about. Guess what... it was and she now lives with that condition permanently because action was not taken in a timely manner. We also take issue with the fact that he never warned her about the risks of cataract surgery. Given how mild her condition

From the excessive wait times of 45 minutes to an hour, to lack of communication as nurses (whoever sees you prior to seeing Dr.). Now I received a bill for my follow up visit, yet was told both when I made the… appointment and the of my appointment (again waiting 30 minutes to be seen) that my appointment was not within the 10 day period and I have to pay out of pocket. One, had I been told that when YOU all scheduled he appointment I would have been
