I called to get some type of advice for a friend and I guess I was over explaining because I was cut off and told he can’t help because there’s a public defender and was very rude. It’s disrespectful when someone who’s vulnerable and seeking help is brushed off in a rude manner.

Mr. Petro was assigned to be my attorney by the courts since I couldn't afford an attorney. I was afraid and didn't know what to expect from him. During the pre-trial all the way to my sentencing date Mr. Petro made me feel like a normal person not a criminal. Mr. Petro always kept me informed about my case. Unfortunately I can't give a negative !!! I called trying to inquire about a lawyer for my son . Obviously going through a stressful time & when my call was returned .. I was trying to tell them his situation & they were so RUDE !! He literally said "what are you trying to do ? seems like you are having a hard time getting a story out" Wow !! Obviously I was trying to hire a lawyer !! Isn't that what you do?? I don't think it would work if they can't communicate without being ignorant!!!

Mr. Petro is a great attorney. My family came to Petro cry for help. My older had been wrongfully accused in federal court. He assured us that it was going to be okay. With the help of Mr Petro and his attorney team, my brother was found not guilty in federal court. My brother was facing 2 charges and beat his case in front of a Ferber all jury. My husband had the most complicated X felony case ever. We called a lot of attorneys but no one was able to help us. I had never been arrested before. I freaked out. I looked up the statutes and feared I'd end up in some version of Oz for the next few years.
Michael was great. He was what I imagined a good defense attorney would be. I knew he was my advocate. He asked me about the facts. He told me what to expect. And, important for me, he helped me calm down.
The fees were very reasonable. After it was all over I felt like saying, "Michael, you didn't charge me nearly enough!" But I resisted

Michael has been doing this for over 20 years. I contacted him after getting thrown into jail and assaulted by the police over a crime they knew I didn't commit but was a way for them to look good, close a case, and spend some time off the beat for an evening at my expense (I don't link to other reviews, but I will say I did review the jail I spent an evening in).
