Mr. An's Teppan Steak & Seafood Sushi Bar

Food tasted good but the portion sizes were small and the prices were high. Not great value in my opinion.

Coming to Tucson and visiting Mr. An's is a yearly ritual. I should visit more often, but I enjoy trying new places around the city. Nevertheless, Mr. An's is always a hit with my guests and me. I find it very endearing that Mr. An never fails to stop by your table and say hello. This brings a unique level of dining experience to your visit, and perhaps this is one of the secrets to his success. The other essential element is the staff. Everyone there is very welcoming and efficient. The food is always cooked to perfection and delicious, whatever you order.

Terrible experience, had a reservation for 6:30, they didn't have our reservation. Joined our friends that also had a reservation. Food was ok they up charge for every little thing, had the coconut shrimp appetizer, you only get 4 shrimp.
Had the land and sea teppan, you only get about 8 small bites of steak, shrimp was good, fried rice good.. wait staff was not the friendliest..

We were in the area to visit my sister and she was interested in sushi. She said she had been here about 3 years ago and that it was very good, so we made reservation for party of three. We got there 15' early and then proceeded to wait another 30' before we were seated...I wish that I had read some of the prior reviews here on Yelp! For whatever reason, the hostess tried and tried to persuade us to sit at teppan table, but we insisted on a regular table as we had stated in our reservation request. Went on a Friday night. Soft shell crab had to be sent back, the table’s consensus was old fryer oil. The sushi was badly packed, crumbling when you pick it up. Mr. An’s also has dingy bathrooms.
I’m confused by the high ratings people are leaving here…
For these prices, you’d think there’d be at least a budget to replace commercial toilet paper holders…

Living in the hotel nearby, the reception give us a list of restaurants and we chose this one and waited a long time.

The environment is lively, and you can choose to sit at the Tepanyaki chef's live demonstration, or you can make it to their bar and enjoy the food directly inside.

we ordered two combo with scallops, shrimp , squid and steak. Everyone will have rice and noodle as their side dish. To be honest, the rice and noodle taste no good but the meat and seafood there is great. And we also enjoyed the chef's performance.

Highly recommend. The filet mignon and lobster were delicious. Husband and I shared the combination plate and was the perfect amount of food. Had 4 beers and total came out to $120. They do charge a $5 fee for sharing a plate. Pricey. But the experience and food was worth it. Didn't have to wait more than 5 min for being 530 pm on a Friday night.

Went for my birthday at the Teppan tables. I've been for sushi but not Teppan. Had a party of seven with me.

Food was really good, but I felt that they cram too many people at the tables. Wasn't room for any extras, elbows. My birthday is a week before Christmas, and they are probably extra busy. Might have to try again at a different time. I also felt that dinner was a little rushed.

Mr. An came out to greet us and take a picture with our party. That was a nice touch.

Overall I like the place, but prefer a regular table.

I have no idea how this place got 3 1/2 half stars.... Every time I have gone to this place it was phenomenal!!! Food and service is Great.

This is a Japanese steakhouse style restaurant with a few other tables that offer a nice selection of food and sushi without the show. The crab puffs were the best I ever had and the sushi rolls were excellent.

We went for Happy hour sat on the patio they had heaters which was good because it was chilly, the waiter was friendly and attentive. They have a great Happy hour menu and the food was delicious with tasty cocktails 🍸

I was here with my wife's family. It's a quaint place to visit, but the food was just tepid. I forgot the name of my dish, but it had the lobster, scallop, and shrimp. Unfortunately, everything was over cooked. I also tried the chicken, and that was also over cooked.
As I'd mentioned, this is a quaint place only, fun for entertainment for newbies and the kids.

Bad customer service. I asked for a table because we didn't want anything off the grill. They proceed to sit us at the grill. We place our orders they later come back and tell us we have to move because MR. AN was going to get upset if we didn't order off the grill. Even though they were the ones that placed us there. Once we're relocated they forgot to bring us our order.
We went there a second time asked specially for a table again. Once again they sat me at the grill. I asked then to put me on a table because I didn't want to relieve the last incident... Then after 15 minutes

Our new go to for special occasions! Hibachi and fresh sushi, plus Sake bombs! Ample portions and attentive wait staff! We had steak, shrimp, chicken and calamari. Chris was our cook and he was perfect! Will be back!!

Mr. An's is kind of two different places in one: (1) The main dining room area with all the Teppan style grills and (2) the bar. The main dining room is crowded, loud and busy on weekend evenings. The chefs are entertaining and people seem to have a fun time. But the bar area, along with the patio outside, is calm and comfortable. Pretty chill overall.

The service is really good. In fact we ordered a bunch of happy hour plates and it all got to the table faster than we could eat it.

Nice ambiance, good food, would I come back eh probably not I wasn't wowed. It was good but I dono something was missing in the food felt like it was just plain not much flavors.

Excellent experience especially for larger parties. Went here for a Team Arizona rider coach dinner and we got to sit in our own room away from everybody else which was super cool and quiet. The wait staff went above and beyond to make sure experience was enjoyable. There was about 17 people in our party and we had 2 chefs prepare our meal which brought entertainment fun and they were both wearing masks the whole time. I really appreciate the wait staff going above and beyond. The food was super quick and the sushi experience was one of a kind. I highly recommend the Alaskan roll! also got to meet

Came here for my sister in laws birthday. We had a table reserved for 7 and didn't get sat til 730. Completely understandable but it seemed like they tried to cram us in and people on the end of one table were touching elbows with the other. Food was good but definitely overhyped. It's more of a show than a dinner. Best part of my meal was definitely the sushi

Found this tepanyaki restaurant a few years ago and we keep coming back to get our fix every once in a while. The service is very friendly. I normally order the steak and chicken combo for dinner. Their spicy edamame is tasty! The food has been inconsistent the last couple of times I've come, so that's why it's a 3 star and not a 4. The cooks have some good skills and keep the table entertained, too!

Going to Mr. An's was an absolute delight. The food was made fresh in front of you. The Filet Mignon was mouthwateringly good and cooked to perfection along with the Lobster tail, Fried rice, Chow Mein, and vegetables. Wait staff was curtious, professional, and prompt and Mr. An personally oversaw operations on the floor checking on all tables and ensuring quality of service was up to par. I can't recommend this place enough, make sure to arrive early or make a reservation as this place fills up fast!

So glad Mr. An's is still open and serving the best Teppan Steak and Seafood. Always fresh, always a great show, and food was delicious! Lots of Birthdays being celebrated here!

Amazing restaurant for birthday dinners! A dinner with a view? Absolutely. Flames in your face? Yup, you've got that right. The food was phenomenal and very filling! They even have sushi rolls, my favorite!

The restaurant is clean and pretty big. They service was great and Mr. An even came to our table to say hi. He took a picture with our table and we got to take a printed picture home as a memory. I loved that!

We will be returning for more friend's birthdays!

We really enjoyed this place. We called ahead to see if we needed reservations and they said to come on down.
We sat at the teppan yaki table and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the scallops and shrimp. My side kick had the teriyaki chicken. We also got a spicy tuna roll to start.
Everything was delicious! Service was excellent. And Mr An was walking around chatting with patrons.

Yesterday I enjoy good food at Mr An's for Friday night at the tepan table at 6:30pm. I was able to get a reservation the same day, but when I arrived the lobby was slammed and crowded with a party of 11 waiting to be seated, so when I was told it would be a 5-10 minute wait, I did so outside. They offered us to eat at the bar or patio but it was crowded. There is a clearly marked sign informing customers masked are required. After 25 minutes we were seated.
