Good for the amazing happy hour. Spicy salmon crispy rice, tuna tartare and friend chicken bites were the stars. Great deal and so tasty. I was underwhelmed with the rolls. Maybe we didn't order right but for 19ish bucks I thought they could be better. We sat outside and the heaters were warm.

Fantastic Saturday night dinner. Hyatt Regency staff recommended this place and it surely did not disappoint! Defrantz was the best waiter we have had in a long time. Explained everything on the menu and made our choices very easy. All six selections we ordered were delicious and we even ordered the fondu desert! Highly recommend this establishment. We will be back when we visit San Fran again.

This has got to be one of the most delicious sushi restaurants I have ever encountered my interaction from walking into the restaurant sitting at the bar waiting for my table to be ready having cocktails and chatting with the bartender and then having some of their wonderful starters was a glorious experience this is a must go for the sushi connoisseur

We visited San Francisco and so glad we decided to try Ozumo as one of our dinners. It was an amazing experience and such a memorable meal. Apart from the restaurant being one of the most gorgeous sushi restaurants I've ever visited, the food and drinks were impeccable. The wagyu was so delicious and worth every penny. You know you're getting amazing quality fish here and its a very impressive restaurant.

The sushi quality was BAD! They were still frozen and the rice was cold. Not worth the money! I have eaten sushi all my life and this is one of the worst!!

The appetizer(wagyu tartar) was ok. Don't come unless you like the vibe.

Ozumo did not fail to impress. Was looking for Uni sushi rolls and found quite an impressive roll here. Their Uni was fresh, creamy, and melted in your mouth. We also ordered their garlic tamari edamame as a starter and were impressed with the rich flavor it provided while we perused the menu.

We ordered the Hamachi Maki roll, a classic spicy tuna maki roll, and Sekiwake roll. All were unique in their own ways and provided an immense variation in fresh flavor. The fish tasted fresh and melted in your mouth. The sticky rice was perfect. Vegetables on/in the rolls were crispy and provided a nice

Very pricey spot but the food is great ! We ordered the scallops, a white fish, the salmon and the mushrooms. The mushrooms were amazing! The flavor was indescribable, it was so delicious and flavorful. Definitely a must get! The fish and scallops were very good too and cooked perfectly. Don't forget to check out the dessert menu! We got the fluffy yuzu cheesecake and the chocolate fondue ($22 but enough to share between 2-4 people). The cheesecake was very good and the sharpness of the yuzu citrus really gave it a unique taste. The fondue was very fun to share and it came with an assortment

This is a review for Ozumo's happy hour which is Monday to Friday at 4:00-6:30pm. I thought the prices were very reasonable, and the service was great too. I was able to sample a ton of food and cocktails. You can sit outside or inside by the bar (which has a dark and relaxing vibe). This is perfect for a casual yet elegant date or catching up with friends.

The Giddy Geisha was 5/5. I loved the Midori Sour and Toki Highball too (not pictured). I'd definitely come here just for the cocktails alone, but the happy hour-priced food was a great bonus. I highly recommend the Tuna Tartare

What a ripoff.
Bucho - the shrimp was fried long before it was put in a roll, tasted stale.
Salmon avocado is served in 6 tiny rolls for $14, by far the most expensive salmon avocado I've ever had.
Gyozas were $15 for 4(!!!!) and they were mediocre at best.
Service was also terrible, got the beer after we finished eating.

Came here for a birthday dinner with about 8 people and our experience was good! Most of us were a little turnt and the waiters were being super patient with us since we took long to figure out what to order.

We had the beef tartare, tofu, ribs and a few rolls. The stand outs were the beef tartare and the tofu! The rolls were just ok... prettty basic. If I were to come next time, I would try the nigiri.

This was a great spot to go for my birthday. All of the appetizers were DELICIOUS! The Wagyu Tartare especially was so flavorful and made me wish I got more! The Seared Scallops, the Miso Soup, the Karage...UGH. They are all amazing. By the taste, yo I can tell the sushi is high-quality and that each roll is made with care. The waiters and waitresses accommodated us very well. The atmosphere felt modern but casual as well, so it was a great place to have dinner with friends.

High end Japanese restaurant. Seating is available inside or outside, with a fantastic view of the Bay Bridge. Service was excellent. The menu for alcoholic drinks is massive. Plenty of small plates, entrees and sushi to choose from. Expect to spend from $100+ if you want to try all the small bites. Reservations are allowed. We went after 9 pm so we didn’t need any. Masks and proof of vaccine is required if eating inside. Parking is in front or around the back. Free during certain hours.

Located on the embarcadero, the location is definitely a big draw for the place especially the water facing side, but also makes it feel a bit less intimate and pricier. We came without reservation on a Friday evening and there was no wait to sit at the bar.

We ordered one of the recommended rolls and 2 orders of sashimi. The portions were standard and the fish was all very fresh.

The chocolate cake is special with the Izumi pattern printed all over the fondant on top.

They also gave complimentary macaroons at the end.

They have in house made ice cream to accompany the cake and that was pretty

We visited this place before a show at the warfield. We got there around 6 pm on a Saturday night and sat at the bar without a reservation. Not only was the service incredibly fast but everything we had was amazing. It was our first time and I'm not sure how we never visited before. It was delicious and we are so happy we found it. 10/10 would recommend and will be going back ASAP.

Rarely do you find yourself saying a dinner in San Francisco is worth every penny, but we had the loveliest dinner at Ozumo on Monday and wanted to thank the team that reminded us what hospitality should be at all restaurants. Sena’s recommendations were all delicious and I appreciated that she would immediately come back to double check on extra orders we had placed with the bussers. She even offered to take our photo at the end of the meal. Each course was perfectly timed (the Hitokuchi is not to be missed) and I was impressed by how promptly and appropriately a napkin was folded in our absence

Fantastic experience from start to finish! A friend and I got here at 5:30pm on a Tuesday for their happy hour (it ends at 6:30pm) and it's definitely one of the best happy hours in the area for its range of food and drink options and because it doesn't end at 5pm, which I noticed are the hours for a lot of SF spots. I didn't have a reservation, but there were quite a few tables available at this time when I arrived. I like their new parklet with hanging lanterns too for those who prefer outdoor seating!

Service was absolutely fantastic from every person I spoke to. I can only

Three stars mainly for the service.

While the quality of food, the presentation and service was on point, the food tasted pretty average and is a tad overpriced for what they deliver. The rolls were bland and lacked flavor. The cocktails tasted like mocktails. Overall, this place is definitely not worth for the price they charge.

My family took me here for my birthday. Impressed by their creative menu items and gorgeous ambiance. Having a chance to eat here in SF was such a treat. I would really recommend for special occasions, for those who are like me and don't do too much fine dining.

For COVID safety purposes, vaccine cards and masks are required, and tables are socially distanced. The staff are just spectacular. Very courteous and attentive without being obtrusive. Though spacious, Ozumo feels inviting and intimate in its decor.

No complaints about the food. Fish is obviously fresh and well-prepared. I do think

Amazing modern japanese resturant. Try to get tables outside facing the bay and the bridge. The wagyu beef is of course incredible. All of the sushi was very high quality and the vegetable roll was also outstanding. I would recommend the tofu appetizer as it is very silky and the broth was very tasty.

This is an excellent restaurant. So why the 4 stars: the prices. $150 per person excluding alchohol and tip. We sat outside with a view of the bay bridge which was fantastic. The atmosphere inside was very good. The service was a bit low but again friendly. Miso soup was excellent. The way sashimi was tasteless and I would not recommend it. The sushi was very good and the rolls excellent. The Gina guy is highly recommended and please order it medium rare for optimal experience. The cheesecake was light and not very sweet.
Would come again.

Ozumo has some premium sashimi and flavors of sauces, cocktails, etc. nailed down, but the price point is extremely steep. I think at one point, there is some diminishing returns on your enjoyment of the food when spending so much.

If you have the luxury to do so, then this is a solid place to eat, but for the food, it was a bit too much for me to come back even for a special occasion. I'd rather buy from a fish market and make myself instead -- while the presentation wouldn't be as good, the quality feels similar. I'm also deducting a star because the service was very slow and

Really impressive and creative dinner menu and ambience! I left feeling satisfied and impressed with the service and quality of the fish.

We started with the hanabi, their signature hamachi sashimi. It was very light yet so flavorful. The sauce that comes with it is perfectly balanced in sweet and sour flavors.

The toro (bluefin tuna belly) was to die for. So soft and buttery, it melts in your mouth.

The yuyake roll was well balanced in texture and flavor. The yuzu kosho was a nice touch that lingers in the mouth after each bite.

The sashimi course with uni was so well balanaced and light

Overall - nice outdoor seating right by the pier. Omakase was a mix of unique sushi rolls and select dishes from the menu. It was a LOT of food - we couldn't finish a lot of it.

3 star rating is mainly because the service for the omakase needs improvement. The dishes weren't really explained to us and one of our servers dropped the wagyu on the table when grilling it (didn't seem to know how to use chopsticks) and then proceeded to bring it back to the grill and serve it to us! We had to stop him and take over ourselves.

I really enjoyed the gindara (black cod) and the taro chips

Happy Hour Review

Located on the beautiful Embarcadero, Ozumo is an incredible Japanese restaurant with one of the best happy hours in the area! We came here spontaneously after noticing that they had said happy hour and we were not disappointed with a delicious and affordable meal. We ordered the following:

- tuna tartare
- nagima yakitori
- karaage
- nori truffle fries
- giddy geisha, Fuji-San, the Yakuza cocktails

Personally, my favorite dish was the tuna tartare. The tuna was incredibly fresh and the crispy taro chips were an excellent pairing. I also loved the nori fries which featured
