Amazing food and amazing service! I’m visiting from out of state and can say this is the best Indian food I’ve ever had. They have very kind staff and are very efficient .

I'm writing an update for the dine-in experience, now that I've stopped by a couple of times. In both instances, I've brought out-of-town guests who are unfamiliar with Indian food or have eaten it only once or twice. Everyone enjoyed the food thoroughly. 8 Thumbs up both times.

Ordering is done at the table with a QR code. The software could be a bit more intelligent. Unless you put your name down, the menu doesn't come up. The rest of us decided to just google it and have one person place the order. The food arrived super-fast. After the food was delivered, the servers disappeared

Super yummy with many options and decent portions, especially for the lunch special deal. The servers are all extremely friendly, and when they got our table an extra naan on accident they just let us have it. Meat is tender and the curries are flavorful, looking forward to trying more of their menu!

Delicious food! Must try chicken briyani and coconut chicken curry.

Had the best experience, placed an order on Yelp and accidentally ordered vegetable briyani instead of chicken. I called in but by the time I called they had already made the veggie so they said unfortunately they couldn't add the chicken.

Then received the order and they did in fact make a chicken briyani and wrote a note. Thank you!

Amazing place! It was so empty when we came but it deserves so many more customers. Our server was so attentive and sweet throughout the whole meal. We were so thoroughly impressed by the food. We got Coconut Curry with chicken, Palak Paneer, and the combination plate with different kinda of dips. The pita bread that came with it was so nice and soft and the naan was perfect. We also got chai ice cream afterwards which which we all really liked.

Quality of Indian food was extremely poor. Food was heated up in a microwave- too much food coloring used. Nothing was being served fresh. Even the tea was not fresh, they took literally 2 mins to serve the entire order, which clearly means that nothing was made fresh.

Dear Cedars,
Thank you for being so accommodating given we were the last people in the restaurant and you probably really wanted to close and go home for the night. We may have ordered WAY too much food for two people, but it was well it to sample some of the fabulous dishes on your menu. The garlic naan was smashing with the baba ghannouj. The falafel was tasty, crisp and not dry, just the way I like it. I can't wait to come back and try the vegetarian plate and the channa masala. Note to self, next time don't order so much food that they have to start putting it on the table next

The BEST curry I’ve had in Seattle - and I’ve lived here for 10 years! Their lunch specials are also a steal. Paid $12 for a full entree of chicken curry, rice and freshly baked naan bread. A wonderful find.

The best Indian restaurant in university district! Not only is the food amazing, but the staff are very friendly and appreciative of customers. My friend and I received chai on the house our first time here. The portions are big and the lunch specials are a great deal if you are able to stop by in the afternoon.

I've been a regular patron of Cedars since my UW college days and it's my go-to place for Indian food.

My typical order is the Butter Chicken, Aloo Gobi, and two orders of Garlic Naan. Also, included with your entrée is basmati rice. The garlic naan is both delicious and a great deal because it's as large as a medium-sized pizza. In my opinion, one order of garlic naan can probably feed 3-4 people comfortably. The naan also comes in multiple flavors if you're not a fan of garlic and also includes coriander and tamarind chutney sauces. The price of the naan has increased over

Cedars never disappoints! I've been coming to this restaurant for years and it has always amounted to a great meal. Their naan is huge and super crispy (we shared one between three people and still had a hard time finishing it) and their curry is amazing.

Wow. I had dinner here with a friend after she recommended it and it really blew me away.

LOCATION & PARKING //
On Brooklyn (parallel to the Ave), this is the University District. The restaurant itself is on a corner and there are a lot of street parking options around it.

FOOD //
We each ordered an entree and shared some delicious naan.

SPINACH NAAN: First of all, the naan is HUGE. I mean *huge*. IT was so soft, warm, and flavorful. It tasted delicious on its own or dipped in your curry. The spinach was creamy and blended into the naan and it was truly the best!

Specializing in Mediterranean, Indian, and Pakistani dishes, Cedars is one of the best restaurants in this genre of food in the Pacific Northwest. I'd challenge anyone to find one with better service or better cuisine.
I use to come to Cedars once a week or so when I lived in the area. I moved with my wife and child to San Diego for a number of year, and we could not find anything nearly as wonderful as the experience with Cedars. Now that we've been home (Seattle) for a few years, we are delighted to see the ownership of this wonderful establishment was passed to the caring hands of people who

I really loved this place! Came here on Friday night and got seated right away.

Ordered samosas, chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo and garlic naan.

The samosas were big and very tasty we loved the mint chutney and tamarind sauce served with them.
The naan was massive and was fresh out of the tandoori Oven. I haven't had a naan like this in a long time! DELISH.

The chicken tikka masala and the lamb vindaloo were a good portion and they didn't skimp on the meat. The meat was tender for both dishes and the sauce was great. I will say that the medium hot spice level was not spicy

Cedars has a reasonable selection of middle eastern and Indian cuisines. The menu varied and there's something for everyone. The food is mildly spiced, if you're looking for a meal that fits a broad range of tastes/diners, this is your place.

Good vegetarian options and as well as meat dishes. They are in the heart of the University District and value priced. I've eaten there many times but this trip was not a good memory.

The need to know

I ordered, what I thought was a side bowl of tikka sauce. I was charged $8 which is almost the full price ($8.99) for the full dish. It was

Fantastic spot with large portion sizes and quick service. Heard lines can get long at times so ordered through DoorDash which was a good experience.

Ordered their Mango Chicken Curry and their Butter Chicken Curry- both great flavors and not too oily. What struck me as a standout was their generous chicken portions- which is great when most places give less protein even if you order extra meat.

We also got their Spinach and Paneer Naan, which also was large (perfect for two to share) and also with great flavor.

Overall highly recommend stopping here! No pics since the food was eaten too

Great food! Would recommend stopping by. Their naan/roti are quite big, so we ended up asking them not to bring out the rice otherwise it would be too much food

I was pretty underwhelmed by this place. There are so many great options for Indian food in Seattle, and this isn’t one of them. The food is alright but definitely affordable, and the service was good even as businesses struggle to recover and return from covid times. I wouldn’t come back here but could definitely see this being a good option for college students in the area!

Great food. Dining experience left a lot to be desired. Our table was filthy, the digital menus card was filthy, water glasses had lipstick on them, replacement glasses were filthy. Three tables of people and two waiters but still terribly inattentive service.

We were craving indian food and this place was nearby so we decided to check them out.

Since we had other food plans, we decided to share a meal and had it to go.

We got the butter chicken which comes with rice. We also got the plain naan bread. The butter chicken was probably one of the better butter chicken I had. The chicken was super tender and I love the flavor of the curry. The rice was standard, nothing spectacular. At first, I thought the price was a little high, but after I see the amount of food you get, I can see why.

The naan was another hit! I usually try to get the plain naan

My friends went here after seeing the cherry blossoms at UW Seattle. This place is just as awesome tasting as I remember. They gave us giant naan bread, had delicious dishes, and amazing customer service. At the end they treated us to baklava! So kind.

Nothing is more heartwarming than supporting a local business and receiving amazing food. Especially during this time of Covid-19 and where spending time with friends and eating food together is such a rare occasion.

Cannot wait to return. Also can't believe I haven't been back for 3 years. Wish they had a location in Tacoma!!
