Jois Yoga is a teaching institute with a mission to train and educate students in both the practical and philosophical aspects of traditional Patanjali Ashtanga Yoga as developed and taught by the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India since early last century. At Jois Yoga we believe an effective yoga practice should bring contentment while helping you to move through life effectively with both grace and ease.

Our teachers are direct students of Sri K Pattabhi Jois, R Sharath Jois and Saraswati Jois and have received extensive training and certification at the prestigious Sharath Yoga Centre and KPJAYI Institute (Formerly Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute) in Mysore, India.

Services
The foundation of the Ashtanga method is the Mysore Class. Regardless of age or ability, students in these classes practice and learn together under the guidance of one of our highly experienced teachers enriching the experience of all. Offered once per week the Led Primary Series Class is a 90 minute class in which the teacher leads the students through the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga followed by pranayama.
Regardless of age or ability, beginners are always welcome at Jois Yoga. We will work with you where you are now, and we treat every student as an individual, guiding you toward your highest potential. In both cases you will start from the basics and work your way toward a sustainable practice that will be yours forever.

Excellent place to learn yoga (astanga method). Practice makes body flexible and strong also heals body and mind. I am IT engineer for more than 15years. My metabolism degraded with sitting and working for long hours. This method benefitted me to regain my strength and improved digestion and metabolism, also improved triglycerides levels a lot. Andrew is excellent teacher and very friendly. Very lucky to be have him in San Diego and learning yoga with him.

Andrew is amazing! He is patient and his passion for the practice is palpable. I attended his Ashtanga yoga retreat at swaswara in gokarna India and loved every moment of it and plan to return next year to his retreat. Highly recommend anyone lucky enough to be in Encinitas or looking to attend a health and wellness yoga retreat.
