Positive Eye Ons Optometry opened in 1989 with the idea that fine and exotic eyewear could be dispensed in an atmosphere free of all pretense of a "stuffy" doctor's office and the "typical optical store." The cliches of "white lab coats" and "pocket protectors" in the medical profession weren't in tune with the pulse of creating cutting edge eyewear designs.
If you've had a vision screening recently, you might say, My vision is fine! I don't need a comprehensive eye exam. But a vision screening provides a limited perspective on the overall health of your eyes. It's a bit like getting your blood pressure checked and not getting the rest of your annual physical.

Here at Positive Eye Ons Optometry Optometry, we work hard to maintain a family-friendly and fun atmosphere no matter what the reason you come in. I’ve been going to Dr. Stybel for years. His office, his staff, his “bedside manner” and communication style is excellent. Angela is great - she sources a curated selection of frames that are always getting me complements and she helps manage my insurance to minimize any out of pocket costs. Dr. Stybel treated me like a valued client from day one, I enjoy my visits, and his team has never let me down. I would fly to LA for my appointments if I ever move.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Stybel for years now, and I throughly enjoy the whole experience. The staff is wonderful, and he definitely takes the time make sure his patients are happy and well taken care of. He is warm, approachable, relatable, professional, and totally personable. I recommend him to everyone I know.

I have been a customer at Positive Eye Ons for 25 years (really). But the shop has gotten even better after Dr. Stybel arrived. He is great--it is now not just a great store to buy frames, but a first class optometry. Honesty, I'm not much of a Melrose hipster/shopper. I head to the area just to visit Dr. Stybel and to look at frames. He is probably the best optometrist I've had. I highly recommend his practice!
