I had been playing guitar without any real structure for almost 15 years before I decided to buckle down and actually learn the correct way. I was initially pretty nervous about the whole endeavor.. I didn't want the way that someone taught me to negatively affect my creative process or ideas, but it was immediately clear after a few lessons that Mark was not that kind of instructor. He goes well out of his way to clearly explain things to you in the level of detail that you are looking for going as deep or shallow

Mark is an absolute fantastic music instructor who teaches you the fundamentals and building blocks of music as opposed to solely having you mimic him playing guitar. When I started my guitar lessons I could not play a lick of music, however in just a few lessons I could play the Open Basic Chords, Riffs, etc. and I began to feel comfortable and confident learning more and more.

Mark is terrific and so versatile. I have played bass off and on for ... yikes 36 years...started lessons with the bass and plenty to offer me. Then we switched to guitar and also we started talking about song writing. We went through all the chords of a scale, the modes, triads, etc. Then and he started showing me all these tricks of choosing chords out side of the key to emphasis song content with examples by artists. He's very patient but gives you the feedback you need with out being aggressive, dismissive or anything unwanted. I really love going to the lessons.

I have been playing guitar for more than 20 years, however, I was never able to understand the logic of scales and improvise. After a few lessons with Mark I was able to not only figure out this entire new frontier of my instrument but also have a sample of my improvisation featured by VOX Amp's social media team, which is something I would never expect to be able to do so fast after taking lessons with Mark. Right now, I'm taking lessons with him for almost two years with no plans to quit anytime soon!

My 13 year old son has been taking lessons from Mark for a while now. Mark's style of teaching makes it very easy for him to learn. Mark also has the ability to teach him how to play the same song different ways, which allows him to choose which option is easiest for him. My daughter and I both took lessons on the guitar from Mark last year. Neither of us had ever played and Mark made it super easy to learn. I loved working with Mark. I had a limited amount of experience playing acoustic guitar, and Mark was great at assessing my current level and helping me build. The exercises he gave me really helped me learn quickly and he was great at watching and correcting technique. Mark is ver talented and an excellent teacher. I've been looking for a hobby for a long time. In December 2014 my wife bought me a guitar and it collected dust. In December 2015 she bought me guitar lessons with Mark Hamrock and I've been a student/customer since. I've really learned to enjoy Mark's lessons. I had never played a musical instrument and decided I wanted to try guitar. I looked up Mark and set up an appointment. Within a lesson or 2, I was playing real, cogent guitar. Very simple and very patient--especially for an adult. Ultimately we had another child and I had to stop after about a year but I am grateful for having had such a wonderful guitar teacher. Mark has met my needs in every way. He has been patient, understanding and even creative enough to find ways for me to play a few songs. While I know he is very knowledgeable, what counts for me is that he is a great teacher.
