Our owner, Sal Garcia has been working professionally on vehicles since 1987. With so many years of experience, he has been working at the dealership level with Volvo, Suzuki, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Mercedes Benz. Working with Mercedes, he was the first person to fix the vehicles that other technicians could not diagnose, including vehicles that were assigned to him as a foreman only.

The service is good, people are nice, the owner Sal, has many years experience working with cars and knows how to fix cars, not giving a run around about the problem. Great service, Mercedes specialists, but I take my Honda and mazda here also. Honest evaluation and fair prices (far below dealer pricing). I highly recommend you go here. The business has grown over the years I've been going here - you now need an appointment for work. This is a great sign of a growing and sustaining business.

I was looking for a autoshop nearby my house to conduct service for my Prius, upon searching on Yelp, Fremont Auto Center show up as an outstanding service provider! I gave them a call and Saul said, just bring your car over for a quick scan to see if anything we need to take care of, and upon the quick scan, we scheduled an actual appointment the next day. Everything went very smoothly, Saul is friendly and professional! I was able to get everything checked and serviced all within a few hours. The best thing about the service they provide is everything is pretty much online and notifications

My car's plates were recently stolen. I went to talk to Sal to help with reinstalling new plates as the screws thread looked damage. I've brought a few fastener sizes that I thought wouldn't work, but Sal was able to quickly identify the correct size. He was happy to share knowledge and saved me $$ in the process. Great guy!

Can't say enough good things about Sal and his team at Fremont Auto Center. In the last 2 months I've brought in my 2006 Subaru Legacy and both times I've received great, honest service. Today, I had an issue that turned out to just be my car being low power steering fluid. Sal topped me off with fluid at no charge, and took the time to answer other various questions I had about my vehicle. If you're reading this Sal I really appreciate all the help. Fremont Auto is the only place I trust to take care of my car in the East Bay.

I feel like finding a great and honest mechanic is similar to that of finding a veterinarian for my dogs - it's typically tough to find so I'm really glad to have stumbled across Fremont Auto Center.

I was in Fremont looking at a used vehicle to purchase from a private seller.
I setup a Pre-purchase inspection so I had a much better idea of any potential problems.
The inspection was thorough and at price that was not out of line.
I left the inspection more knowledgeable about the vehicle I was considering- and with a written estimate that allowed me to negotiate a more reasonable vehicle purchase price.
If I lived in Fremont I would use this shop, and fortunate to find this shop for this vehicle purchase.

I was searching for a place that may be able to diagnose and ensure that I needed to fix my car's battery and water pump. I used Yelp to try to find such place and Fremont Auto Center's glowing reviews just pulled me in. It also wasn't too shabby that it was relatively close, so I gave them a call.

Staff was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. They have this really cool way of showing the results of your vehicle inspection along with pictures from the mechanics about what is wrong.
In my case, there was a minor oil leak. They could have fixed it there but went through the cars warranty with me and found I could get it fixed for free from the dealership instead of there. I wasn't taken advantage of which is my biggest fear looking for auto centers.
I will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend.

I showed up with a squeaky brake ready to pay a couple hundred bucks for a replacement. Sal (the owner) took a look at each of my brakes and said they are only about 1/2 worn. Told me the squeaky sound can be fixed, but it doesn't cause any safety issues and that I should come back when the brakes are worn and he'll fix it all in one go.
Super honest guy. He could have just did a brake replacement like I asked him to do, and I wouldn't have know the difference. He answered a bunch of my other concerns (funny ignition sound).

ALWAYS give businesses a second chance! So glad I did. After writing my initial review, Sal reached out to me the following day to apologize and see what could be done to remedy what happened. I messaged that I would just like to book an appointment for the upcoming Saturday; Sal replied that the center isn't open on Saturdays but would be happy to come in due to what happened.

Sal is very friendly and professional. There was noise from the AC blower in my car. Sal recommended replacing the blower motor and the regulator. Both of these parts were changed and I haven't had any problems since. Sal also listened to other concerns I had about my vehicle and provided recommendations. I highly recommend Fremont Auto Center's services.

My car began stuttering during acceleration and then the check engine light came on. I brought it in over the holidays and said I needed it back no later than the 10th.
They were able to quickly diagnose a bad coil and complete the repairs promptly. They did a great job at a reasonable price.
