Magnificat High School, a girls' Catholic college-preparatory high school, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary, educates young women to learn, lead, and serve in the spirit of Mary's Magnificat. In an ever-changing world, Magnificat attends to the holistic development of each of our young women.
With Mary as the model of a strong woman and faithful disciple, speaking truth about the realities of her world in her Magnificat song of praise, students grow into models for others. Compassion, confidence, and courage will be engendered in each student so that she will become a model for transforming the world.
Sophomore Service is a Sophomore Theology class requirement and an important component of the overall Theology curriculum. In the Sophomore Theology course our students encounter ways they can respond in charity to the various social justice issues that exist in our world today.
In our Sophomore Theology classes, teachers help students reflect on and process their service experience through a series of class activities, discussions and journal assignments their entire year.

Research demonstrates that young women achieve a higher level of academic success in an all-girl educational setting. Graduates of single-gender schools generally also have an easier time with the transition to college. The ability to establish their optimal individual style of learning, in conjunction with excellent academic preparation, provide them with a strong foundation for post-secondary education.
Magnificat High School was founded and sponsored by the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in the former Wooster School in Rocky River with a freshman class of 63 students and three Sisters of the Humility of Mary. Magnificat established the Genesis program, the first of its kind, involving seniors in a two-week community service and career exploration under a mentor in the broader community.
