Services
What sets Devine's apart from all the rest? It's hard to know where to start. The Consistency -- Owner Gene Devine (Duke graduate and former Blue Devil football player) has been Devine's hands-on manager, non-stop since 1978. His commitment to excellence shows through in every aspect of the restaurant.
At Devine's we take pride in the quality and quantity of every meal we serve. You'll find a tremendous selection of comfort food in a fast, casual environment. All of the sports bar pub favorites you've come to expect are here. The Devine's difference is the extra lengths we go to make our food extra special.
Whether you're looking to enjoy a cold beverage with a delicious meal while enjoying live music, on the way home from work, watching the game, or at the end of the day, Devine's is the place for you. Devine's offers our customers a wide selection of wines and a full complement of mixed drinks, all prepared by our experienced bar staff.
Devine's works hard every day to provide our patrons with delicious food and beverages at a fair price. Our whole idea is to bring value to every customer we serve and every transaction we make. However, we're not above offering additional bargains from time-to-time. Be sure to ask your server or bartender about today's daily specials on beer and drinks and bring in the coupons below for more savings!
A lot of people have come to think of Devine's as Durham's sports bar. Before and after Bulls games in the summer and for every Duke sporting event imaginable, Devine's is the place to be. Our 20 high def TVs are always playing sports of every conceivable variety. And they're situated throughout the bar so that every fan can see several screens at once.

This is my favorite spot in this tow. Very friendly staff with good food and cheap booze. It gets busy on Friday night with live music. They were one of the few bars opened after a snow day.

I have been here three times over the past few years and it's pretty good. Nothing fancy or anything, but good bar food. Sometimes in the summer they have live music in their patio which is fun. I went last night with my family and everyone enjoyed their food. I got the buffalo chicken fingers and fries with ranch and I would definitely get that again.

Very enjoyable out on the patio. As a plus size person, the chairs were very comfortable and didn't dig into my hips. The restaurant next door had live music which would have been too loud if we were there but was an enjoyable volume from Devine's patio. The food was good and the service was great. The cocktails were watered down but otherwise...

Got drawn in on our way to another restaurant by the fantastic jazz. We got some great sandwiches and enjoyed the music outside. Fantastic atmosphere, food, music, and staff! Man running everything seemed very welcoming and hard working. Haven’t heard good jazz live in a long time great place, can’t wait to return!

I am 3 years late to this review. That's because I rarely write reviews, and I only take the time when it has a profound impact. However, I never really thought much of Devine's food during my time at Duke. This place was more like a habit for me. I had always appreciated their fine gourmet qualities, but it was never anything eye-opening, say like a Michelin. But we know this bar is not intended to be like one. Its purpose was to serve the locals with the best bar food NC could provide, and it was always on the spot. When I think of Durham, I can only think of few places iconic, and Devine's indeed

What an eclectic place! Just a great, wooden, hole in the wall! Gives you a better feeling than walking into your house after a long day at work. Everyone knows everyone and everyone is better than the next. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like you are able to kick off your shoes and put your feet up and relax. Metaphorically speaking of course! Danya, Julian, Brian, Savannah, and Whitley are like coming home from college and asking your mom to do your laundry. It's just one of the greatest places I've ever been.

This is one of those places that forget they are in Durham. They only cater to the college students locals beware. They have lost the customer service skills for regular paying customers. The food is ok just get it to go. The place was much better years ago, but it does depends on what you look like in order to receive basic service.
