Services
Texas Health Credit Union (THCU) has been in operation since 1956. It was originally opened and staffed by volunteers looking for an alternative to higher priced, for-profit institutions. Since that time, THCU has continued to grow and now offers a wide variety of affordable products and services for both individuals and small businesses.
THCU accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration. The NCUA is an independent agency of the United States Government. Each qualifying account is also provided with an additional $250,000 of protection through ESI (Excess Share Insurance). This additional layer of coverage forms the highest level of federal and private account protection available.
THCU's great rates and convenient terms make it easy to get behind the wheel of the car, truck or SUV of your dreams. Our loan staff can get you pre-qualified to make shopping easy and free of dealer pressure. Our loans are calculated using simple interest and there is never a pre-payment penalty. Credit life and disability are also available on all credit union loan products.
Members can take advantage of lower interest rates with personal loans secured by a THCU savings account or CD. A share secured or CD secured loan allows you to keep your money and use it as a security guarantee for your personal loan. Since they are secured by your account balance, there is less risk to the credit union and we are able to offer these loans at lower rates than rates for conventional lending products.

I've been a member since 1981. The credit union is small and personal which is perfect for me. All my business transactions are handled at the credit union. Over the years, I have developed many professional relationships with Tammy, Karen, Josh, Jessica, Shira, Jose, and Doyle; who are awesome! I can always count on Texas Health Credit Union for any personal issues.

It is horrible experience. I have the account with this bank for more than 20 years and walk to their bank pretty much every weekday to deposit my checks. Today they told me I should not to looked into their employee's cars when I walk around their bank because they can see it from the camera. I even don't recall I have done that because most of time I am on the phone with my mom while walking there. I might look around the cars on the street while walking and chatting because we are interested in purchase another new cars soon. THCU is the best bank in Austin! Maybe in the whole state! My debit card was compromised and used around town. Not only did THCU catch it after only 2 transactions and shut down access, they had the money back in my account in less than 30 minutes from my going in to fill out new paperwork. I also appreciate that they were able to print a new card for me on the spot. Cody was so kind and helpful! I am so pleased with the service I have received from every employee over the years!

I gave it an ok rating. Because I have bank there a long time. However, I have had two problems with this credit union. At one point years ago I kept losing my debit card because I ride the bus and I admit should have been more careful. But, one of the officials threaten to take my debit credit card away. That would have been inconvenient because even then which was around 10 years ago you could rarely used check to buy or pay for anything. I still have the card because I have enough money that they don't hassle me. However, I am upset that they do not have on line bank transfers. And

We have done business with THCU for years, with loans......we referred a buyer for our RV to go thru this credit union and to say the least it has been the worst experience ever. This transaction was completed on 02/10/17 and because my husbands license was going to expire at midnight that night, we are running into a problem with THCU regarding title transfer.....the buyer took care of loan and down payment on 2/10/17 and now we are being told until the title comes back we cannot get the money owed to us because of license expiring as of above date.

Nice small branch. This place seamed to be a very personable bank. Since most of their traffic is from local business that would make them a favorable place for banking as apposed to a larger, impersonal banking chain. If I was local, I'd do business with them. My transaction with them went smooth and quick.

This review is long overdue. I joined THCU a little over a year ago. I have a saving, checking, master card and auto loan with them. Josh (my loan officer) is amazing.
They are one small branch so it can be a little challenging at times but once you get used to using the affiliate branches most of those issues become non-issues. You don't have the convenience of larger banks extended hours but you don't have the extra fee's or the random people who don't know you or care about your problems either.
With THCU when you call to resolve an issue that you have they jump on it
