Services
While Driftaway Cafe was founded in 2001 (a terrible year for all Americans), its founders and leaders are not new to the hospitality industry. Robyn Quattlebaum has been in this business since 1979 and has traveled all over the southeast, opening restaurants for corporate conglomerates such as Applebee's and Bennigan's as well as critically acclaimed local Savannah Restaurants.

Wow! Thank you for the reviews! Got off the plane today and drove straight here for lunch for a party of 4 Chiefs fans. Blackened FRESH Tuna medium rare was mouth watering for our appetizer. Shared a bowl of Crab Stew. Big mistake! We all wished we had our own bowl. 3 Wayne Specials (catch of day n scallops cooked to perfection on top of cheesy grits) and 2 wedge salads later - we have nothing else to say but OMGOODNESS it was worth the 30 min drive out of our way!

Found myself in the Sandfly area a few days ago, so my wife and I stopped in for lunch. It's a cute spot tucked away off of Skidaway Rd., with nice outdoor seating areas in both front and back, as well as a nice-looking bar area and indoor dining room. The service was friendly, albeit not well-polished.
After using our phones to access the menu by way of the QR code, we both decided on our entrées. Unfortunately, our server subsequently informed us that entrées are only available after 5pm. (To be fair, this notice is written on the online menu, but my wife and I both missed seeing it

Great place with tons of outdoor seating and live music on the weekend. If you love sushi grade tuna...you must order the tuna tower, amazing. Service is great and I haven't had a bad thing on the menu.
It is a bit hidden away in a strip mall in Sandfly. Once you find it, you'll be back again and again.

Firecracker shrimp were good, nice and hot, crispy. Had an off taste to the sauce though.
shrimp and grits were horrible. Shrimp was old-tasting, couldn't even enjoy the grits for how much soggy cheese sauce the concocted in the kitchen.

The appetizers were delicious! Everyone in our party killed them! We got crab cakes, calamari, and firecracker shrimp!
The sweet tea is absolutely delicious!
This is just what my husband and myself ordered, the buffaloe wrap and pecan chicken salad! Both absolutely delicious!
The service was phenomenal! So happy we came here for lunch!

I ordered the Firecracker shrimp tacos with the potato salad. The tacos were very good - the right crispy fry, right ratio of sauce, shrimp & toppings, and the tortillas were adequate. The potato salad was chosen due to someone else’s review, but it was so boring. We sat near the live music, which was good, but unfortunately too loud.

Had tuna tacos which is stunning and a local Savannah beer which the bartender recommended. Also had spicy blackened shrimp, super fresh fish and chips, pork belly, grouper sandwich
Too full for dessert but it looked good almost made me want boot and rally, but resisted lol. 10/10, far out but they are good.

Still great food. Took my friends there while visiting Savannah. Everyone loved their food. I still say they have the best tuna tacos that exist anywhere. I dream of that dish. Really nice fun bar tenders and servers. Love the atmosphere. You're missing out if you don't go here. I wish I had this in my city.

First time here, menu selection was excellent. From appetizers to brunch (Saturday & Sunday) to meals you'll have a hard time choosing. Prices are very reasonable, my meal was very good size and taste and temperature was great. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely look this place up and stop in!

Late dinner after long drive. Few friends recommended this place for pet friendliness and good food. Sat on rear "garden" patio which was pretty secluded and quiet. Server was very polite and dog attentive. Brought us a bowl...twice after our 65lb labradoodle flipped it. Had the crab dip app and loved it. Food order came a bit sluggish but signs on door warned of "short staff". We get it. Kids loved the patio area and decor. Would recommend and return if in area again.

For a chill lunch or dinner place, Driftaway Cafe was perfect for what we had in mind. A cozy outside eating area was very relaxing. The workers were polite and attentive. Their long list of craft beer did not disappoint. We shared a tasty platter of fried calamari, peppered and cooked with sun-dried tomatoes. We ordered a buffalo shrimp wrap and an oyster sandwich... perfect for lunch.

We really enjoyed our experience at the Driftaway Cafe. The food was good and the atmosphere on the back deck was phenomenal!
THE ATMOSPHERE
- We sat on the back deck which is set in a magical garden area. It's such a fantastic place to eat. Plants and landscaping surround you. A friendly cat walks around looking for someone to pet her and possibly feed her. The staff even gave my daughter some food to feed the cat.
- Front porch seating is nice too, with more of a beach house atmosphere

Cute local hangout serving up seafood , steak and much more . I really enjoyed the laidback vibe here . On this visit we only ordered two appetizers but they were fresh and delicious. Do yourself a favor and order the Firecracker Shrimp. The shrimp are flash fried and include sliced green onions, diced red pepper and tossed in Firecracker Sauce on a bed of iceburg lettuce. It is the perfect amount of spice and the shrimp are fresh and delicious. If you are worried about the level of heat you can opt to have the sauce on the side (we did).

Tho the patrons were loud, for no reason, the food was excellent and wait staff efficient. This cafe chose to not use menus, but a QRcode on the table. I selected the creamy & thick crab soup and the fish-of-the-day, which is grouper, sandwich on a fresh bun. My selection of grilled fish with their homemade potato salad was excellent.
Total about $22 for generous servings.
There also was indoor seating and a nicely stocked bar with several patrons about 3 pm .

Have been by this place hundreds of times but never stopped in. The tables were socially distant so we sat at a window table. There was a creek or ditch with lots of birds and wildlife. The Calamari was stringy and had no sauce,which I thought was odd. The serving size on a salmon sandwich was huge. Good flavor and cooked correctly.
The reason for only 3 stars was as we were leaving I noticed a bus girl or two and a waitress sitting close together in aisle. They were laughing and chatting with No Mask! I gave them my usual comment when someone doesn't wear a mask. I said, "Nice mask

Service was great. She was courteous polite and wore a mask the entire time. Plenty of ice in our drinks and frequent refills due to heat. Outside fans helped.
My food was a bit too salty but tasty and good. I would prefer more green vegetables over starch veg like potatoes.
