Services
From the humble beginnings of a home studio in 1996, BodyMind Balance quickly grew into a new location in a Chiropractor's office on Madison Rd, then to Hyde Park Square and now to it's NY loft-style location on Dana Avenue. Jill Dema received her training through the Pilates Guild and brought The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning (as it was then referred to) to Cincinnati with her partner, Jay Apking.
BodyMind Balance is an educational center for Classical Pilates and the GYROTONIC Method. We educate our clients in every session on how to strengthen skills, concepts and an overall understanding of the philosophy of each method. We educate our professional community of Pilates and GYROTONIC Instructors through mentoring, workshops and intensives and training courses.
I came to Pilates to recover from a debilitating hamstring injury. I stayed for the increased strength, flexibility, coordination and grace. Now, both the Pilates and GYROTONIC methods are integral components of my weekly fitness program. After a year and a half studying the Gyrotonic Method I have noticed amazing changes in the shape of my body and how I feel.
Pilates is a time-tested exercise program invented by Joseph Pilates. The Pilates Method has been helping people get healthier and stronger for more than 80 years. It's a gentle and effective exercise plan that strengthens, stretches and balances the body's muscle groups. Pilates focuses on the core muscles or "Powerhouse."

I've been doing pilates at BodyMind Balance for 20 years now. Each session is a new workout that provides a challenge and leaves me feeling energized. The teachers are excellent--well trained and attentive. The studio is gorgeous with a wealth of quality equipment. If you are just getting started, working with an injury, or looking for an advanced workout, you've come to the right place!

I don't usually write reviews, but had my first workout at BodyMind Balance with Kathy and she was so knowledgeable and positive. I have a lot of injuries and returning to exercise has been stressful. A collegue recommended this studio and all the instructors. I couldn't have had a better experience, it was strenuous, but Kathy made sure to help me modify if I had trouble with anything. Can't wait to go back!

I started going to BodyMind Balance two years ago and would not consider going anywhere else for Pilates training. The teachers that have led me (Mike, Julie, Kathy) are not only very knowledgeable and passionate about Pilates, but they are very caring and considerate in providing a very personalized experience every time. I primarily train with Mike, whose patience, persistence and attention to detail brought me back to life after suffering an injury at the hands of a yoga instructor at a different studio in Cincinnati two years ago. This studio is in a super-cool space with original brick walls, wood floors and lots of windows. The equipment is plentiful for group classes and privates. The instruction is exceptional, the staff are all certified and spend time in continuing education. If you want a challenging, authentic Pilates or Gyrotonic workout you have to try Body Mind Balance.

This is THE BEST pilates studio in Cincinnati! It was also the first. Owner Julie T. takes the studio seriously and will give you the most thorough workout ever. I've been working with Mike the last few years and he is excellent--very attentive to detail, with meaningful corrections to achieve peak form and results. The excellent training is only surpassed by the warm, caring, personalized service. If you are considering pilates, whether a beginner oran advanced student, this is the place for you.

The BodyMind Balance studio is a wonderful place! Everyone there is so helpful, and the workouts are tremendously helpful! Pilates is a great workout for anyone wanting to strengthen their core and posture. I love the space of the studio, and always being greeted cheerfully.
