Situated in the heart of San Francisco's elegant Pacific Heights, we invite you to experience a taste of Italian Mediterranean cafe culture and cuisine in a cozy and romantic setting. At the heart of any restaurant is it's food and Florio offers a variety of Italian and French classics, a "greatest hits" of cafe fare: everything from house made Pasta to Steak Frites.
Simple dishes such as Veal, Pork & Ricotta Meatballs round out the comforting menu. One featuring rustic food such as crispy roast chicken and good frites, a little (but not much) music playing, a good bottle of wine and a warm smile from the server. Designed by Brayton + Hughes Design, Florio is situated on the corner of Fillmore Street and Wilmot Alley (between Pine & Bush Streets).

Lovely spot. My fiancé and I popped in for a drink, sat at the bar and got the Florio 75 and Birds Cage. Both great - the Birds Cage especially was a flavor I've never tasted before in a cocktail that I really liked! We munched on the warm olives app (very good and good portion size). Watching the bartender was a lot of fun too.
My one suggestion would be to play some quiet music - jazz or similar vibe - otherwise the ambiance is perfect (low lighting, feels like you're in a restaurant in Europe).

This place was sooooo good! What a find! My boyfriend and I easily got a reservation through Open Table, came in and the place is all dark wood and very cozy and dimly lit. Super romantic.
We got two negronis, which were done super well, and then some wine, which was great.
Great apps, we had the mussels and Caesar.
The food was outstanding. He got the Kobe beef with fries, I had the roasted chicken. Both were so flavorful and perfectly cooked (chicken is a huge portion, FYI).
The desserts were fab too, get the creme brûlée, it's perfect.

I'm so upset with myself for putting this place off as long as I have. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful and the professional servers were welcoming and attentive. This was easily one of my best dining experiences this year. What a wonderful place to catch up with a friend that I deeply admire and adore. I loved it so much that I'm making my boyfriend take me again this week. Thank you Florio!

Mmmm, didn't love how close tables were, how loud the restaurant got, and how the waitress took away plates (when we didn't order appetizers/starters). I PRAY they didn't go in "the clean pile" for future guests.
I ordered a pork which was hearty & well seasoned. It came with beans and a few random veggies. Juicy, not dry. Well balanced. Wish they had a syrah by the glass.
They check your vax status at the door. I'll be coming back again but I will request to sit outside. Feels more quiet and spacious.
Thank you to the gentleman at the next table for moving his

We came here for dinner one of the nights around Father's Day. Upon arrival for our reservation time, we stood by the host stand for a bit as he was the one taking phone order as well. The restaurant was busy at the time because the bar was fairly full, same as the dining room. We were greeted immediately as he looked up while he hung up on the phone.
He guided to our small table for two at the corner. It was hidden and tight, therefore, I was not a fan of it. Though, it was not a big restaurant. It was clear that they make arrangements for seatings the best they could. Our server, Peter

Had dinner last night with a friend. They have a parklet that was well sheltered and heaters and they were very covid safe in all areas. I had a Gibson and my friend had a mojito, neither were on the menu and they were made to perfection. We started with an order of fries then I had the short ribs and my friend had their seafood stew. We both enjoyed our meals and our glasses of wine. Our waiter was professional, helpful, friendly, and attentive. I would go back anytime! Very nice evening!

Super romantic ambiance. There was a painter there while we were eating. He would paint one picture on a back lit glass canvas...then completely morph that photo into something else. It was entertaining and stunning. To top it off, the food and drinks are excellent. This is the perfect place for that special night.

I feel badly about saying anything harmful about any restaurants right now, knowing how hard it's been with covid but I have not had a worse covid experience than here and I think they'll get someone infected. Three people working, bartender and server both with masks under nose, owner in bandana, open at the bottom to freely shoot all exhaled air directly onto plates etc..... I asked the bartender for a refill on my drink because the server was just not coming to us and as I approached, she put on her mask with her bare hands then, despite my holding the glass for her to pour (I was

Great romantic restaurant, for any special occasion. We had the best waiter, Oliver, and great great food too. I had pine crusted scallops and he had a mouth watering filet Mignon, both a must try for any first timers. Couldn't ask for a better first experience at The Floris Bar & Cafe . Will definitely be back, and make sure to ask for Oliver .

I really wish that this place would have been better. I have come here one time and it was very disappointing. None of the food was very great and the one item that we ordered that was somewhat good, they ran out of immediately (mind you, we got here the moment the restaurant opened on a Saturday and tried to order the same thing within 30 minutes and they were out? WHAT? How?? ).
This didn't just happen once, it happened 2 times during our time there. Once with an appetizer and another time with a dessert. It just seems like a poorly run place to be running out items within the first hour

Very disappointed. 2/3 fell sick after eating here (we had the petite filet steak frites and the octopus, both just alright and not overly flavorful. Ordering the steak medium comes out more well done, as an FYI). The food was expensive but not great quality. The add-ons were also unconscionable. We were warned that each slice of bread requested was $1 so we assumed ok, fresh baked bread, sounds worth it. What we got was hard, toasted, teeny slivers of bread - none of the pictures you see on here reflect the current bread offering (sorry, should have snapped). My friend and I each ordered diet

I frequently visited this local restaurant, then moved to Marin for 9 years and just returned. The adept host, John, remembered me as well as Tara, one of the bartenders and several of the staff. They all welcomed me back. The fact that many of the staff members have stayed for years tells you that customers are happy because the staff is as well and always welcomes new and regular guests (and tourists) with the same warm and polite greetings. The food now is even better. Try the mushroom/celery salad. Fabulous. The chicken is expertly prepared, as are all the steak options. The tempting wine options

Wow. This place was fantastic! Feels fun and intimate inside with dark lighting and lots of reds and blacks.
Great, attentive waiter who had answers to all our questions and kept on top of our needs.
The food!
We began with olives (yum!), the Caesar (one of the best I've had in the city) and the broccollini which was packed with the bright flavors of lemon and capers but not overpowered by them. Well, lots of wonderful restaurants mail their appetizers so excellent job. Where they really separate themselves from the pack was their entrees.

I stumbled into this dining situation because I wanted to go to Roam Artisan Burgers a few doors down, but the line was out the door and I was starving. Enter the intimate Florio Bar & Grill. Think mood lighting, sleeky and sexy bar, dining by candlelight. It's a small place but we were lucky to sneak in without a reservation at 6 p.m.
My table shared warm olives for an appetizer and I was unoriginal and got a hamburger (see: original dining preference above) with fries, which was very good despite it being more undercooked than I preferred. The cherry chocolate tarte was the perfect

He suggested to meet there for dinner. She said okay but she thought he meant another location. The place sounded like another place that was affiliated with him. The names of the places were just one letter apart. As if he could read her mind, he sent her the link to the restaurant, and preemptively told her to not show up at the other place.
She arrived an hour early. So did he. Neither knew each other's early arrival, they went about their own business. Until they both figured out they were early and they could have hung out together waiting for the restaurant to open. So they went to
