Roger Bower, the owner and visionary behind Crown Point, purchased the property after recognizing its potential to produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Crown Point is a true vanguard in the region, crafting premium wines that rival the best throughout the world. Crown Point is nestled amongst the foothills of the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA (American Viticultural Area), where the east-west running Santa Ynez mountain range intersects with the north-south San Rafael mountain range.The east-west traverse mountain range is a geographical anomaly in itself, and only one of a few in the world.

There's a purity to the nose of this bottling that reveals deep, lush waves of boysenberry paste alongside a savory tone of charred beef. Polished tannins frame the sip, where ample amounts of rich black plum and blackberry are enhanced by caramel, coffee bean and mocha flavors, with acidity holding tight into the finish.

Crown Point Vineyards provides the most complete, breathtaking tour and tasting experience as they produce world class Cabernet Sauvignon (and a blend with Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot) in Santa Barbara Wine Country. We were driven in their "Gator" (a 4-wheeler) to the top of the vineyard with a vantage point of the entire Santa Ynez Valley. We returned to their winery for a tour where we bumped into the charming (and handsome) winemaker who was so generous with his time. Finally, we sat down for a seated, private tasting featuring three wines paired with cheese. The wines are

If you are a critical thinker and open to the idea that world class Bordeaux can be produced just outside of Santa Ynez, CA, you must visit Crown Point. A tour with the very lovely assistant winemaker, Sharde, and her dog Diego, is information-filled and helps understand the vision of the owner. The tasting allows you to relax, ask questions, and increase your knowledge. Join the allocation and gift yourself some joy for the next several months or years
