Sometimes wounds from the past reverberate in the present in the form of anxiety, anger, depression, grief, confusion, a loss of meaning or unsatisfying patterns of relationships. Sometimes the psychological defenses that helped us survive earlier in life have outlived their usefulness and create suffering in the present, but we are unaware of it because the connection is buried deep in our unconscious.
Teenagers are in the process of negotiating one of life's most intense transitions and often experience turmoil in their inner lives and in the outer world. They often don't have the skills or knowledge to deal with the all the changes in their bodies, emotions, perceptions and relationships. They often distance themselves from their parents or challenge rules in an effort to better define themselves.
My fees are $175 for the initial intake session (90 minutes) and $155 for individual and family therapy sessions (55 minutes.) My services may be covered in full or part by your insurance plan. My billing assistant is available to help you determine how my services are covered under your plan. Fees are payable by cash, check, debit, or credit card at the time of service unless other arrangements are made in advance.
