When you're struggling with your partner, yelling at your kids, feeling stuck, alone, anxious or disconnected from yourself, reaching out to a therapist can feel like one more stressor. It may feel easier to bury yourself in work or busy-ness, to endure, or numb out. But reaching out for help actually is a courageous first step to feeling better.

In fact, just the simple act of looking at this site means you're already on that path. I specialize in helping people create lasting change by bringing mindful awareness to the patterns that keep them stuck in anxiety, depression, and in their relationships through compassionate, collaborative psychotherapy.
Services
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist working in downtown Portland, Oregon (lmft T1149) and remotely in California (lmft 88830). I'm also the current city leader of Sidewalk Talk Portland. I'm passionate about helping people heal and thrive - in their relationships, and within themselves. I feel truly honored that my counseling clients choose to share the vulnerable parts of themselves with me.
Modern life is incredibly challenging; and it takes courage to live it in a way that allows us to feel a sense of integrity and wholeness. In striving to meet life's challenges, we create strategies we believe will help us avoid pain, but that unfortunately result in us avoiding our hearts' deepest longings.
I am a Gottman Level One couples counselor, a method based on researching thousands of couples for what makes long-lasting relationships loving and strong. I also draw from attachment theory and EFT, the work of Sue Johnson, which helps couples heal through connection. Couples learn to listen for true understanding, build empathy, resolve recurring problems, deepen trust and rekindle the love between them.
We know it's important for partners to be on the same page when it comes to raising kids, and for our kids to perceive us as a united front. Or maybe the issue is not about you and your partner so much as the way things are going with your little one. Power struggles and angry outbursts can feel demoralizing when you long for cooperation and loving harmony.
While providing psychotherapy to adults and couples is my passion, group support can offer benefits that one-on-one counseling often doesn't. It's one thing for me to tell you, "many people feel this same way, " or for you to read it somewhere. It's another thing entirely when you look around the room at the faces of people you know actually do feel the same way.

I have known Jenny Keppler since 2008. In this time I have been consistently impressed by her ability to understand the minds of children and to fluidly and compassionately support parents. If you are confused about your role as a parent or if you simply need support in a specific area of parenting Jenny is the person to call.

Jenny Kepler worked as a doula at the birth of both my children. Her counseling skills and ability to focus on my husband and I as a couple, in addition to me as a mom, greatly exceeded her role. I am so grateful to have two wonderful birth experiences to reflect on, largely due to our conversations and her insight into the dynamics of our marriage and family. I've never met someone who was more present and at ease with the intense feelings that come along with pregnancy, birth, and family life. She brings love and understanding, along with her professional training. I give her my top
