My practice is based on the belief that everyone should have access to affordable, professional therapy. The initial consultation is complimentary, and is useful to determine whether we are a good fit going forward. Read about the issues that I typically treat in Portland. Please feel free to contact me to schedule an initial consultation or ask any questions you may have.

I look forward to working with you. As your therapist I will empower you to strive for change and to maintain happiness and balance in your life. What you learn in therapy will continue to be useful throughout your life. The length of time in counseling may be minimal, but the techniques, insight, and self-awareness that are gained will be rewarding and valuable for a long time to come.
Services
I have a very strong background in family and couples work. I received my master's degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of Southern California, and my bachelor's degree in child and family development from San Diego State University. Prior to going into private practice, I worked in the public school system providing individual, group, and family therapy to high-risk students.
I offer two types of therapy: individual therapy and couples counseling. As a licensed and trained mental health counselor, I help you identify and work through factors that may be causing you mental or emotional illness. Therapy will help you understand your emotions, behaviors, and the thoughts that contribute to your condition.
Major depression is only one type of depressive disorder. Another depressive disorder that is common in Portland is seasonal affective disorder, or SAD. SAD is also known as the "winter blues." Dysthymia is a low grade form of depression, but it can sometimes stay for much longer time periods and go unnoticed, and almost become a way of life.
Anxiety and panic attacks occur when we have an uncontrollable response to what is typically an ordinary and nonthreatening situation. Your heart may start to pound and you may feel like you're dying. You could break into a cold sweat and start shaking. Your vision could become blurry and you may start hearing static or echoes.
This video will allow you to identify which romantic attachment style you have in relationships. I will talk about the characteristics and behaviors of codependency, but what I feel is really going on is a problem with your attachment style. An anxious attachment style is one that is commonly coined as codependent.

Jeff has exceptional ears which he uses to listen deeply to his clients. He also has an exceptional analytical brain (almost choosing to be a computer major).
He uses the latter to stay abreast of technical trends that drive clients to therapists and healers.

He has developed two potent tools to help therapists and healers build their practices. Portland Therapy Network is a local friendlier cousin of Psychology Today. The Practice Academy is a series of tools to help practitioners understand how to attract more clients on line. I study these trends too, but when I am stuck I turn to Jeff
