In 1970, the Sea Pines Plantation Co. (The developer of Hilton Head, SC) purchased approximately 900 acres of land on the SC side of Lake Wylie and built a residential/resort community to serve the Charlotte NC area. The community was named River Hills Plantation and contains 950 home sites with 18-hole golf course, country club, 10 tennis courts and a 174 boat slip marina.
When the development of River Hills was completed in 1977, Sea Pines sold the real estate company River Hills Plantation Realty Sales to John Wilkerson. The name has since been changed to First Properties of the Carolinas, Inc. John had real estate offices at the entrances of River Hills and another resort community Tega Cay.

Jennifer Henderson has been a resident of the Steele Creek Community for over 25 years. She and her husband Tim have raised 6 children in the community and know it well. Jennifer has her degree in accounting and has managed her own Ebay business for many years. Her attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of the area make her perfect for helping clients get through the buying and selling process smoothly.
Karen has been with First Properties of the Carolinas, Inc since 2000. She is our office manager and also handles the billing for our Company and Property Management Division. Karen is known for keeping calm no matter the circumstance. When she is not working, Karen loves crafting and going to the beach.

They were such nice people to work with! They made this process amazingly easy and smooth especially since we were working with them remotely. Karen gave a lot of time and energy when I first came to Charlotte almost 12 years ago. She is personable and shows great interest in her clients.
