Welcome to the NEW online home of the Halloween Yacht Club (Stamford, CT). We are a group of boating enthusiasts who operate a non-profit facility in Westcott Cove. We have been a fixture on the Stamford shore line for 90 years and we currently number more than 300 members and their families. We welcome members and guests to view our club information and resources available to them through this portal.
Services
The Halloween Yacht Club is a true community yacht club. Anyone may join, taking advantage of the Club's year-round social, educational, and recreational programs. But only bona fide residents of Stamford may berth their boats at the Club. There are 134 berths, which accommodate sailing and power boats up to 35 feet, summer and winter.
The Halloween Yacht Club was founded in 1926 by Commodore Al Phillips and 16 other fishermen with small boats. They acquired several acres of waterfront property by leasing it from the City. This lease is renewed periodically, and today, although the Club owns its clubhouse, the Club still leases the property from the City of Stamford.
For nearly a century, Halloween Yacht Club has evolved to meet the ever changing needs of its members while maintaining the tradition and spirit of the club. Halloween has the most convenient and easily accessible docking facilities in lower Fairfield County. It offers individual slips for boats up to 35 feet with water hookups, dockside power and WiFi.
For several years there have been two weekly sailing events held in Stamford: the Breakwater Irregulars' Tuesday night Races, mainly for spinnaker boats, and the HYC Thursday night Twilight Races for non-spinnakers. Starting in 2017, the two groups joined forces. Combined races are held on Tuesday nights from mid-May to late August, and use Stamford YC/Breakwater Irregulars Race Committee facilities and expertise.
In 2012, Past Commodores Richard Kondub and Pat Buzzeo of the Halloween Yacht Club wanted to do something for our Veterans. They decided to start a fishing contest to raise money for a Veteran organization. In 2012 and 2013, the proceeds went to the Wounded Warrior Project. Since 2014, all proceeds went to the local Chapter 13 DAV Stamford CT "Operation Gift Cards" resulting in tremendous response from our veterans.

These jokers need to get their weather cam's fixed up and put back into service. Both cameras have been offline for over 12 months now. This is not acceptable. Amateur sailors and aviators rely on these cams for a visual aspect of Deception Bay, this helps us plan our outings before we leave the home. Please repair your cameras.
