Services
Incorporated in 2007, Just Mind is a boutique mental health clinic with a mission to remove the stigma sometimes associated with therapy, both through the environment we create and the unique attitudes of the associates who work with us. Our team receives regular clinical education from visiting guest experts and group supervision.
Just Mind Counseling was founded in 2007 and is run by a husband and wife, William Schroeder and Teri Schroeder, who are both therapists. The practice was started with the dream of making a stigma-free environment for counseling where clients could seek help and feel comfortable while creating change in their own life.
Just Mind periodically hires new clinicians to join our team. We work with adults, adolescents, and children and view our practice as a center of excellence. We want to help our therapists grow and feel part of a community. If you are interested, please let us know more about yourself below. We have a structure for therapists that is based on years of experience and that encourages professional growth.
Want to join the Austin Mental Health Group? Do you work in mental health and are you interested in joining the Austin Mental Health Group? If so, thank you for your interest in joining our group and we would love to have you! We have over 2000 members who are a community of people involved in mental health in Austin.
Just Mind is a great group with a plethora of therapists that ensures their ability to pair clients with therapists who can best relate and meet the client's needs. There is not a better group in Austin to seek help from. I refer my patients to Just Mind for individual and group therapy. I get back reports that have been universally positive.

I have had two sessions so far with Sapana Donde, PhD and I am beyond grateful and excited for this journey. Sapana Donde is a true expert in her field and you can genuinely feel her passion for helping others. She has the most humbling and welcoming energy ever. I am so happy that I called Just Mind & got on the wait list for Sapana Donde, PhD.

This is a company you can trust in terms of commitment to excellent care. They are large enough to cover variety of specialties and providers while not losing commitment to individualized treatment, provider/ client matching and follow up care. They pay close attention to evidence based treatments and client centered care. Looking for a solid local agency? Start with Just Mind.

I was able to schedule a single session in September after a dog attack. The entire experience, from start to finish, was wonderful. I was able to make a choice of counselor via text, working around my school/work breaks. The profiles offered to me also included the upcoming dates and times of availability.
My counselor, David, was right on time for our video conference and utilized our time to the fullest extent. While results vary for everyone, he was able to help me move to a place where I could go running outside again. He praised me for seeing someone so quickly, as this can bring added benefit

I like to leave an honest thorough review so apologies for the long paragraphs you’ll read... I tried Just Mind maybe 3 months ago? They’re very fast in scheduling you and conveniently have a texting ( instead of phone call) option for scheduling. Which I really appreciate.
So on my first attempt/ visit, the therapist I was matched with. Although I was hopeful, just didn’t work out. I was disappointed. Then, William ( the owner) contacted me and offered me a try with a different therapist.
So I took the offer, and a month later, I’d say we got a great match. Thus far, my visits with David

I am beyond grateful for Just Mind (and specifically my therapist, Nancy). I drive from San Antonio and it's so worth it. The revelations I've had while working with Nancy have been vindicating, and the work we've been doing together is helping me truly heal. I am finding peace within myself and that's why I'm going - peace is what this is all about. I feel safe and calm there.
My first experience with Just Mind was awesome - I reached out to them, and they got back to me super quickly. I explained what I wanted to work on, my availability, and my preference for a female counselor. Everything

I’ve been working with Marian for almost two months and she has been so wonderful. My experience with Just Mind has been nothing less than exceptional from the very first phone call to the office. Communication has always been great and I’m so thankful to have found such an amazing therapist to work with with. I would highly recommend Just Mind to all of my friends and family.

It's great! I was contacted right away and had an appointment almost immediately. Most other places had a wait list a month plus out. Also, the availability of the counselors is very convenient. Weekends and evenings.... unheard of and work friendly. Patricia has been stellar with helping me help myself. I've been to a few counselors where I just felt very disconnected and like a number rather than a patient or person. Love Patricia and the work that she does! I always look forward to my appointments!

Loren was amazing. She works with preschoolers and young children and we are so glad we found her. Everything she said was research-based and it was obvious she was updated on the literature and concerned with providing the best service possible. She provided so many strategies for us to deal with our preschooler's behavior and it has made a distinct difference in our family life.

Loren taught me extremely valuable information about my son's ADHD! She shared several tactics to help him understand his own impulsivity and how to calm down. She also summarized information to share with my son's teacher. All of this has helped him greatly, and we're so fortunate for our experience!

I have been working with David since September 2014. I previously worked with a handful of therapists but never connected with them. I am female and was hesitant to see a male therapist, but decided to give him a try because he accepted my insurance. I am os glad I did! I decided I needed therapy after going through a divorce and struggling with relationship issues. I wanted to focus on being the best me possible. I cannot put into words how much David has helped me these past 5 months. If you are truly open to therapy and looking for someone who can help you think about your issues and give you

William was one of the first people I met when I moved to Austin three years ago. He is personable, professional, hard working and an amazing listener. It will be no surprise to you that he is a fantastic counselor. He truly cares deeply about helping his clients. If you or a loved one are looking for counseling in Austin, I highly recommend contacting him and seeing whether or not there is a match. Good luck.

Billy is one of the most warm and compassionate people I've had the pleasure of meeting in my time in Austin, TX. He is professional and always makes you think about things from a different perspective that you wouldn't necessarily think of right away. I miss his life advice and always listening ear! Make a satellite office in NYC! ;) If you're looking for someone compassionate and caring without being mushy or touchy-feely, Billy is the guy for you. Proud to call him a friend.

I have known William for 3 years personally and professionally. William Schroeder is warm, relatable, and intelligent and it makes him a great counselor. If you want someone who listens to you, works to understand what makes your difficult times unique and what you personally need to do to work through them, William is a great candidate for the task. His passion for his career and clients shines through in just about every conversation he has. He's helped me personally, and I have had and will have no hesitation recommending him to others.

Excellent collection of mental health professionals. Depression, social anxiety, spousal abuse, obsessive procrastination, anorexia, grief, et al. They provide tools to help clients grapple with all of these issues. If I could offer more than five stars, I would attach as many as possible to this review.
Outside of their counseling expertise, they have great administrative staff. Many payment options available. I needed receipts to submit last minute before my FSA money was deleted. They mailed them the day I called and I got them the very next day!!! No charge to me for the postage, which was

Billy is a rare bird: he has both deep insight and strong compassion to help people with their struggles. My dad was a psychoanalyst and I grew up around people in the therapy field, so I have met many people who do what Billy does.
Unfortunately, not all of them are great at helping others. Like I said, having compassion is only part of the equation. You also have to be insightful and well balanced in your own life.
I guess some folks call him William. I know him as Billy, but the name isn't what matters. It's how he approaches things, and what he can do to help. Trust me, Billy can
