Dr. Elizabeth (Libbi) Hawkins and the Gabriel Park Veterinary Clinic staff would like to welcome you to our clinic. As we have grown, Dr. Anna Knochel, Dr. Jamie Cheshier, Dr. Jon Perchick and Dr. Keri Ramstedt have joined our staff and brought with them a wealth of veterinary knowledge and experience.

Dr. Libbi grew up in southwest Portland where she attended Bridlemile Elementary and Wilson High School. Dr. Libbi received her B.S. from Oregon State University, her M.S. from the University of Nebraska and her DVM from Kansas State University. Dr. Libbi enjoys practicing all aspects of veterinary medicine and has special interests in dental health, geriatric and hospice care.

The best way to keep your pet healthy and pain free is through preventive care, including regular veterinary visits and physical exams. Our wellness services are designed to manage the health of your pet at every age by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and by avoiding preventive illnesses. Our goal is to establish a healthy baseline in early adulthood and to carry it through the senior years of your pet.
We are passionate about geriatric care and want to assist you in giving your family member the best, most comfortable care. Our canine and feline family members age at a faster pace than their human counterparts. Annual exams, blood work, urine and fecal screenings, as well as other diagnostics become more important as our family members age.
Diagnostic laboratory testing provides our team with information to help our doctors formulate a treatment plan best fit for your pet. We have full in clinic blood and urine analyzing equipment, x-ray and blood pressure equipment that provide us with immediate information when timing is critical. The majority of our routine blood and fecal analysis results are available within 24 hours.

I only just started going here - after my first few encounters I can say that the staff and my vet there, Dr. Hawkins, were all very lovely, competent and helpful. There is none of the VCA-Banfield-mega-vet upsell / rigid vibe and everyone seemed busy, but not stressed and unhappy. That makes a difference to me. I have started making a point of not going where people seem like walking sales-pitches and you sense they are friendly because that's the script - there is entirely too much of that in the world. Kudos to Gabriel Park. I'm glad we found you.

We've been enjoying the services of Gabriel Park Veterinary Clinic for about six or seven years. Initially, when we were recommended to them from our prior "emergency" vet, we were told that Dr. Libbi Hawkins was an outstanding veterinarian. My dog has gone to this vet for years and is now almost 18 years young and going strong. He just had to have a lot of teeth removed recently though, and has had some complications... perhaps mostly that it feels so strange to him. The Doctors are having him come back and taking care of making sure he's OK, even calling after hours and checking on him. If only my human doctor could be so good! [Just kidding, she's great too!]

We switched to Gabriel Park vet clinic after we grew dissatisfied with our previous vet. I have since been blown away by the level of service and care. Our first visit was an hour long chat going over all my dog’s health history and letting him get to know the doctor. It was immediately clear that our elderly dog’s quality of life was a priority… for them with an approach of proactive care and not just treating the problems of aging as they come along. I absolutely love this place. I moved to the suburbs and tried to switch vets, but we realized there was no comparison and now we drive back every time we need anything. Each and every member of their staff is… friendly and caring, but our main vet, Dr. Ramstedt is particularly wonderful. Our cat, Danger, came in for a checkup and she managed to catch the fact that he had a kidney stone blocking his ureter even though he wasn’t really showing symptoms. She patiently explained everything to us and then did a ton of research and consulted with OSU’s veterinary staff for us on her

They always take the best care of all of our animals, even our difficult cat who poops and pees everywhere every time she comes in. Everyone who works there is always friendly and very easy to work with, and they take the time to make sure you have an estimate beforehand so no surprises at checkout. I've had some terrible experiences with vets in this area, but always 100% positive experiences at Gabriel Park.
