We can make exam appointments for any and all concerns or issues you are having with your pet. We appreciate you scheduling an appointment in advance. We use Merial and Zoetis brand vaccines. We follow the manufacturer guidelines in regards to vaccine schedules, however we do take into account the individual lifestyle of your pet when deciding on how often to vaccinate and which vaccines are necessary.
We are always accepting new clients. Please print and fill out the new client info sheet and bring the completed form with you to your first appointment. This will help expedite the process of getting you in the room with a Doctor. Please note that if we have not seen your pet before we require an exam with a doctor prior to any surgeries or drop off procedures.

Website says "we are always accepting new patience". When I called the recessionist said "they weren't accepting new patience" and then before I could say anything hangs up, no sorry no bye no nothing. Seriously rude. And might want to update the website to reflect that change so I do not waste my time or your obviously over worked receptionist time.

I love this vet and so does my dog. We lost our cat last year. She died in my lap. We took her to them asking them about where we could take her to have her cremated. They were so kind they took her tiny body and got her cremated without a fee from them and gave us her ashes in a lovely wooden box. The people their are kind. What more can you ask of people who take care of a member of your family.

The staff at Broadway vet are kind, responsive and professional. They have been providing veterinary care for my animals for over 20 years.
My elderly chihuahua underwent a dental procedure and had some problems with regaining his appetite. Dr. Story had me bring my dog back in the next day for sub q fluids, and an appetite stimulant. I also received daily phone calls from the staff inquiring how he was doing, until it was clear that he was stable. I am so grateful for their care of my dogs!

My partner and I recently found a stray kitten and we took her in for a check-up and then had a follow-up appointment to get spayed. I noticed some changes on her tummy and was wondering what it was because the other two cats didn’t have them and my first thought was maybe she was pregnant, but she’s still pretty young so I didn’t think too much about it. It turns out she was pregnant. They knew and proceeded to take out the babies without checking with us first. We actually have the space and the desire for baby kittens and we would not have opted to end the pregnancy. I called the doctor

I used to go here and then I moved to Beaverton and switched vets for convenience. My cat started acting different and meowing as if he was in pain. I wasn’t getting much except anti-depressants from the new vet I had switched to, so I decided to come back to Broadway Vet Clinic for a second opinion. They were able to get my cats treats in a treat form so I could stop the pill-pockets and they cleaned up his teeth in case those were the issues. They explained everything and all of my options clearly. My cat has already started getting back to normal and I am super grateful for this clinics sincere

I just tried Broadway Veterinary Clinic for the first time and could not be more thrilled with my experience! My golden retriever, Poppy, split her paw in half and they saw us with very short notice. After seeing Poppy, Dr. Story called me and gave me a detailed explanation of how he treated Poppy. You can tell that he is an animal lover and wants the best for his patients. If you’re thinking about trying Broadway Veterinary Clinic, I highly recommend that you do!

Broadway Veterinary Clinic has been seeing my dog for over a year. When we started there, I requested Banfield Hospital (Irvington) to send her vaccination records over. I called Banfield multiple times to ensure that they had been sent to Broadway. I came to find today that Broadway did not have her vaccination records, and they did not know whether she was vaccinated for rabies, Bordatella, or Distemper/Parvovirus. They did not attempt to track down her records. She has been seen at Broadway Veterinary Clinic multiple times since she became a patient there in September 2018 (even an appointment

The Veterinarians and the entire staff are warm, kind and knowledgeable. Same day appointments are made available for urgent problems.
All of the Veterinarians are fine, but Dr. Menighed is especially helpful. Yet, he isn't mentioned on their website (probably is on their Facebook site, but I don't do Fbook.

Broadway Vet didn't hesitate to squeeze me in when my 12 year old cat was showing signs of a urinary track infection. After losing 2 very young cats to terminal illnesses, I was super stressed, scared and nervous bringing her in. Literally on the verge of tears.
Dustin, the veterinary assistant, was so kind and caring as he asked me the details and did a pre-check on my cat. Dr. Carroll then came in the room to examine her. He felt confident that it was a urinary track infection, completely treatable, but due to her age and existing heart murmur, recommended bloodwork to check on her

I've got two, relatively young cats, so my vet visits will likely be pretty low-key and not the highest of stakes like some of these other reviews.
That said, my experiences with this clinic thus far have been stellar. The staff is friendly, the doctors knowledgeable, and the handling the right mix of pragmatism and care.
The other reviews with complaints of the front desk being understaffed and wait times long? I could see it happening, but the several times I've been thus far, it's never been anything egregious.
If you're looking for a local, personable vet and are in

I officially will never switch vets!! My 2 year old cat has a history of crystals in his urethra which as you may know can be deadly if he becomes blocked and can't use the bathroom. This week he was starting to show possible signs of a blockage or of having active crystals and I called a few clinics to ask if they could do a payment plan since I was waiting until Friday to get paid. Every one said they couldn't help me, to open a care credit card, or to wait until Friday but know that my cat could die. I called broadway vet clinic and told them my situation and they told me to bring

Honestly one of my favorite vet clinics I have ever been to! I initially picked them out because they were close to me and sitting right on a main public transit line, and kept going because of the AMAZING staff and overall fantastic experience. I know my Beowulf is in good hands here, and he always gets many compliments on what a handsome kitty he is!

And we've decided to move on from BVC. My wife says, "I want a smaller practice and staff who listen." This after booking an appointment with a vet and instead getting a vet tech because someone decided we didn't need a vet. After waiting for the nonexistent vet to appear, she walked out. It's what veterinary medicine would be like if the county ran it.

We just moved to the Irvington neighborhood and our 3 year old Great Dane/Great Pyrenees mix had a flare up of diarrhea, which he has been having more frequently for the past several months. I called hoping to get an appointment ASAP so we could get it under control. Not only were they able to get us in the same day (which surprised me), but they were able to get all of his medical records from our old North Portland vet clinic by our appointment time. I was worried that there would be some difficulty getting all his records transferred and that they wouldn't be familiar with his issues including

This morning, we brought our rescue dog from Belize to Broadway Veterinary Clinic to work on a toothache he had been diagnosed with.
Later in the day, we receive a call saying he has died due to being given too much anesthetic.
He was fine this morning.
We've been left with no further explanation in addition to our bill for hundreds of dollars to have Broadway Veterinary Clinic MURDER OUR DOG.
I would not recommend this nightmare to my worst nemesis. Please do not make your animal suffer from the incompetence of Broadway Veterinary clinic.

Dr. Duane Schaad is never there, so I can only imagine that he doesn't know that his front people have gone to veterinary school. They seem to know more than he does. That is what I got from my experiences from them. I got a e-mail twice with incorrect information. One was for a dental quote with no discount and another was for someone else. Spoke with the Dr. about how rude his front office were. My cat deserves the best care. Moving forward.

Horrible place!! My poor dog Smokey had to spend his final days on earth in mass amounts of pain before he died today___I called 4 different times to see if his medication was ready and they refused to fill his prescription. Kept telling me they were "working on it" ...he never got his meds before he passed today :(

Since moving to Portland, we have taken our cats to Broadway Veterinary Clinic and we are very happy with their customer service. The staff are friendly, even when my cats act like little hooligans - hissing and scowling up a storm. We buy our cat food from Broadway Vet. and they always remember us - or at least they remember Mr. Sid and Artoo (our cats). We feel cared for and we trust the staff at this clinic.
They are a busy clinic so we try to always make an appointment and come in a bit early. From our experience, wait times are not too long - maybe 10 minutes at the most after being roomed

I took my dog in for a rabies vaccination and that cost me over $200.00 at the end. They quickly gave extra shots to the dog that weren't asked for or needed. Then, I went back to have the dog's teeth cleaned. They were going to charge me $480 at minimum; for a cleaning. Anything extra could have gone up to $900.00 plus. Are they high? I had 3 human teeth pulled (with a cleaning) last year for $700.00. So, what's up with that? And their location is terrible. Getting your pet in and out of the car on busy Broadway is scary and confusing.

I'm giving this a 1 star based on several experiences I have had here over a two year period of time with a cat and a dog.
First, this place is incredibly expensive. I realize that Portland is expensive for vet care, but man... I took my cat there because she was very ill and couldn't keep food down and shrieking in pain. I took her there two separate times (combined totals about $300 for a cat) and they couldn't figure out anything. The first visit they have her fluids and charged us for it (the bill was itemized). The second time I took her for fluids, the charge was more than

The location is fantastic, the staff is friendly, and the service is prompt. And while it certainly can seem a little expensive at times - they seem to do what they can to help. They have waived a couple of fees, and cut other ones in half. And even once when I had to bring in a small pet due to being attacked, they opened after hours and put it down at no charge. So money stuff? They are great.
The vet techs all seem very thorough and knowledgeable. Very friendly and welcoming. Half the time I feel like after my dog is looked at by the techs I know what is wrong with my dog, before I even see

When we first started going there we loved them. We soon lost our love for them when the owner and lead vet told me to use my common sense when telling me that our dogs collar was too tight l. I had asked about the two finger rule because it had seemed loose enough to me.
He further became disrespectful and a poor vet when he had the vet tech take our puppy in back and give her stitches without consulting us prior. I was not told what was going to happen and then I was charged an additional $85.00 dollars after she already had been there the day before and was charged a $100.00 or so.
