I ordered a dozen unicorn cupcakes as a surprise for a friends birthday and it came out perfect! After looking around and reading reviews at a few places I decided to go with Shakar Bakery. She was so easy to work with (easy communication, different flavor requests, easy pickup). Not only did she make the exact cupcakes my friend wanted but the taste was just as amazing. Can't wait to order cakes/cupcakes in the near future. Thank you for everything!

Shakar Bakery has basically become our official family baker since this is now where we often get cakes and cupcakes. It's consistently fantastic in both taste and presentation and Shantal is always a pleasure to deal with.
We just got a great lemon-flavored birthday cake and when I brought it out everyone got wide-eyed because it was so cool-looking. And I thought I had ordered a bit too much, but it was nearly finished even with everyone full from dinner and snacks.
So good! Highly recommend!

Shantal at Shakar Bakery went above and beyond to recreate two cakes for me in the last two weeks. She did a cake for my sister's baby shower and for my son's first birthday. My sister's theme was "Life is but a Dream" and my son's was a circus theme. She's an exceptional baker and an incredible artist. Couldn't be happier with the work she did for both cakes. Amazing talent and such great customer service. Not only were the cakes so well detailed, but were also so delicious! I would refer her to anyone who asks in a heartbeat.

Shantal was recommended to me by my brother in law and I am so glad I took his recommendation under consideration. She is extremely organized, hard working, and knows exactly what she needs to do. After meeting her for our cake testing, I knew 100% that she was the one! She is very prompt and quick to respond to emails. We ended up choosing the "chocolate dulce de leche" flavor for our wedding cake and it was a great hit! Shakar bakery is my favorite baker in town. She baked my wedding cake. The theme was mermaid/merman and the merman must have handlebar mustache. She delivered the most delicious cake I had lemon flavor and chocolate and both where delish. I am so tempted to defrost my anniversary layer that I am keeping in the freezer. I'm getting phone calls from my friends wanting to know how did I get a famous baker aka cake war winner to make my wedding cake. Shantal of Shakar Bakery did a remarkable job on my twin boys' 4th dinosaur theme bday cake. Completely impressed with her attention to detail and really making the cake extra extra special for my boys .. She updated me every step of the way (not that she needed to, because I completely trusted her judgement)... Perfection ! I showed her a cake I liked but she asked if she can make some changes and boy am I glad she did!!! It honestly surpassed my expectations.. im so impressed with her work. Where do I begin? The cake was absolutely amazing. It was ordered the last minute so I thought it was going to be just that. It arrived on time and was so perfect no one even realized it was a cake. I then said" well it looks good but it must taste like #$% because it was so last minute ." IT WAS THE BEST CAKE I EVER ATE! I am a foodie and I know my cakes. She had chocolate between the fondant and the cake and the strawberry cream filling was orgasmic! I only hope she photographed the cake. My wife and I hired Shakar to create a birthday cake for our niece's 9th birthday. Being aware of Shantal's talents in both baking and engineering, the only two requirements that we gave her was that the cake had to incorporate the mad-hatter theme of the party and that it had to be spectacular. We met with her twice and she provided wonderful ideas for creating design elements within the ballroom to compliment the cake.
From our initial inquiry through the follow-up that she did after the party, my wife, our guests and the birthday girls were completely in awe. Thank you Shantal

Shakar bakery designed an adorable Peppa Pig themed birthday cake for our daughter! Shantal was so accommodating and put her own creative twist on the design. As for taste- haven't had a more decadent, soft, buttery, smooth and delicious piece of cake ever!! I wish we still had some left over- we devoured it! Definitely recommend for any cake needs for kids and adults! Wish Shakar bakery only success!

My wedding finally came and went and Shantal did NOT retire. I really wanted a different type of cake for my wedding. I think the only thing I told Shantal was upside art deco lol. She filled in the rest. I gave her full creative control because I trusted her. Everyone loved the cake at the wedding and it tasted AMAZING! Thank you Shantal for everything!

We ordered our wedding cake from Shakar bakery and loved it. I adored that cake with all my heart. When we met the owner "Shantel" we knew she was great from the moment one. She is a careful listener, a brilliant mind, and a solid & persistent personality who is combination of an artist and a scientist. She delivered exactly what we asked for. So many good things to say about Shakar Bakery and Shantal the owner/baker. Shantal made an amazing 3 layer cake for my fiance and his sister's birthday 10/2012- Nightmare Before Christmas-themed vanilla cake with chocolate ganache and top layer pumpkin flavor muffin/cupcake with cinnamon frosting. After a lot of back and forth messaging (due to picky eaters and ever-changing ideas for the look of the cake and event date- she was so understanding, patient, and easy to work with) we ended up with the most delicious, moist cake made with free-range eggs and grass-fed cow milk and butter. I'm not a pastry expert by any means, but am fortunate enough to be able to consume quite a bit of it throughout my days. The first thing I taste with any cake is *freshness*. Before any flavor profile or trendy icing fondant whatever messes with my taste buds, this is usually my all-important first impression. I guess it's a combination of moistness and that just-right sponginess that good cakes have. Mix in a bit of layering to give the cake a bit of dynamics, and I'm a happy guy. If these criteria are met, I'm a happy, easy-to-please cake inhaler.

I recently got married 2 weeks ago and used Shakar Bakery as my baker. A dear friend/wedding coordinator recommended her. From the very start, Shantal was attentive, creative, sweet, and all around incredible! I approached Shantal with my dessert table ideas and she brought them into complete satisfaction. I have been a maid of honor in 3 weddings and a bridesmaid in 7. I have seen it all!
I wanted my dessert table to top all others and I have to say it absolutely did! Instead of a wedding cake, I desired a groom's cake special for my sweet in the shape of the 'Death Star' space

She made my 'kikay' cupcakes for my 25th birthday. Very flexibe, nice and sweet. I am very pleased of her creation. Oops, did I mention the taste? 4 people finished 8 regular cupcakes and 20+ mini cakes in no time. So now, I'm pledging cakes/cupcakes for my friends parties this year and I'll be ordering it from here! :)
