Nestled in the Catalina Foothills, Trattoria Pina Italian Restaurant is a hidden treasure that offers superb Italian food: including veal, fresh seafood, a large variety of pastas, salads, and gourmet pizzas in a wood-burning oven. Cosmo Ali, former founder of Tucson's famous Da Vinci restaurant, originated in 1974.
Our homemade desserts and gnocchi are some of Trattoria Pina's customer favorites. These traditional family recipes have been passed down for generations while the authenticity of each dessert is preserved and still made in house by Cosmo himself.

We came here for New Year's Eve dinner. We were surprised to be able to grab a reservation on such busy day.
We decided to try one of the Specials which consisted of a plate of angel hair spaghetti with Marinara sauce, 2 stuffed mushrooms and 2 shrimps. (A little skimpy for the price $30) and the Risotto Luca (very tasty with 4 shrimps and bits of bacon).
For dessert we ordered the chocolate mousse cake and it was extremely sweet for my tastebuds ( almost had a heart attack).
I was disappointed of them running out of Malbec, I couldn't find anything else to drink.
Service was courteous

My god. Every single thing I had was amazing! My cappuccino was perfect, the Bellini was gorgeous, the chicken on the Caesar salad was so juicy and perfectly grilled, then we have the eclair cake…. It will frequent my dreams for years to come, I’m sure. Give this place a try, they’re family owned and absolutely delicious.

Actually, our recent dining experience doesn't deserve any stars. The 4 of us were seated in the center of the restaurant in a major thoroughfare surrounded by multiple tables pushed together. The noise level was deafening so we asked for a more peaceful setting and were told the back patio was full as was the restaurant as they had overbooked. Unfortunately we decided to stay as we have always enjoyed the food. After our waiter Ramtin took our order, drinks and salads promptly arrived. Diners were seated after we placed our orders and were served entrees and dessert before we even saw our

I am sorry but this was a bit of a disappointment. It was our last evening here and we had hoped to have a good meal. We were seated promptly and were brought water and eventually bread. We both ordered entrees my wife the Polenta alla Griglia and I the Scampi Portofino. My wife had the minestrone soup which was ok, but her entree was non descript with some odd tastes. My salad was ok, but the Scampi was a bit lacking in flavor. We would have expected a bit more for the prices.

Great to go back again to this little gem, the owner is a class act, what makes customers come back. Had a wonderful oven fired pizza, vegetarian, sauce excellent, the crust was just perfect. There was four of us, we tried all different dishes, the grilled scallop salad was also great. I remember going there to pick up biscottis when I first moved here, she was out of them today, but we had the tiramisu and the pope's pillow, both great. I will definitely be going back.

Hadn't been here since covid hit but glad to return with a friend. Masks are optional but servers are wearing them. I had the salad called the capesante due sorelle which wAs excellent. It had grilled scallops, dried cranberries, almonds, bacon, strawberries, mixed greens, and cranberry poppyseed citrus dressing. The mix of flavors worked very well to compliment the scallops. The portion was generous and I took half home for later. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that the bread was a bit hard when usually it is very fresh.

Trattoria Pina is located close to the mountains, very picturesque. We were seated promptly, the staff were very attentive. The veal piccata and the salmon with risotto were outstanding. Although we did not partake of the desserts, the tray of choices presented at the table looked outstanding. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity served. We recommend this restaurant.
