The Mill has one of the largest floor plans out of all JMU off-campus housing communities and is consistently voted "Best Place To Live" by JMU students. Our apartments include four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, full-size washer and dryer in extra large storage room, entertaining style floor plan, and thoughtful roommate design.
It's your choice; The Mill is just three blocks away. The Mill's excellent location near the west side of JMU's campus gives you quick access to the Music Building, the Quad, Forbes Performing Arts Center, food/retail shopping, and Harrisonburg's revitalized downtown. You're also a convenient drive to Eastern Mennonite University (EMU), Bridgewater College, and Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC).

I am sure this has the worst mail services, they are stingy enough to not put mail box for each building so the mails and boxes would be thrown on the ground with no management, rarely things would be delivered at the main office and very likely 90% of you’re mail would get lost for bad management and zero indications for postal workers. Plus they won’t help you or give you a solution. If you look to live around Harrisonburg I suggest you find a building with good postal services If you don’t wanna lose your money on lost mail and items. And this is totally the wrong place for that.

Waste of time for a student. There is only one positive about this location and that is the proximity to campus. The current owner is a scammer from New York whose reviews from the property she managed before reflect what most of the negative comments on this thread describe. She removed facilities that were standard issue for all other apartments near by and treats tenants with a two face behavior that only makes you feel she cares. The parent company should be appalled that they allowed Nancy to even be the manager of another property. If

The mill is a good first place to live if you are looking at a your first apartment off campus. Good amount of space and easy to make your apartment how you want it for you and your roommates. Helpful and kind admin and maintenance. Great distance from campus for those who drive, bike or walk as well.

If I could give The Mills less than 1 star, I would. Both the manager and regional manager are rude, unprofessional, and lack follow through.
My son and 3 friends, all James Madison University students, had an apartment at The Mill from 8/15/19 to 7/31/20. Like many other college students in the country, they came home for Spring break on 3/7/20, but never went back to their apartment after classes at JMU went virtual and Virginia went into lockdown due to COVID-19. The only time they went back was to retrieve items such as books and computers before moving out completely prior to the lease

The Mill was such a great choice for my first apartment off campus. There is a huge living room, and laundry/ pantry, plenty of room for storage!! The staff at The Mill is so sweet and nice. Nancy, the property manager, is the one of the sweetest people ever and I always love going into the office and talking with her. I know if I ever need anything I can always call the office or go in there and my issue will be solved. I recommend living at The Mill, such a great first apartment and so close to campus which is so convenient!

I absolutely adore Ms. Nancy! she is always professional, asks us what need. If we ever had any issues she was more than willing to help us. she goes above and beyond what her job description entitles. she truly cares about her residents. she makes the property a clean and safe environment for the students that live here and maintenance always comes at a timely manner. My time here has been wonderful and has completely exceeded my expectations! I will most definitely recommend anyone I know to The Mill!

Be prepared to have cockroaches in your kitchen and possibly bathroom even though they have exterminators come like five times a year. Frequent inspections and the staff comes into your apartment sometimes with less than 24 hours notice so you don't feel like the space is actually yours. Even if there are empty rooms you will get fined if you use them. Staff is not the friendly. The dryer burned a hole through my comforter one time and they blamed me for putting a comforter in it. $40 dollar comforter almost up in flames. And they wouldn't fix the broken dryer until I asked a couple times

Just fully moved out after being at this apartment complex for 3 years. DONT MOVE IN! These people try to get you for every little thing. When I first moved in, my mattress was flipped over, when I went to move the bed to the other side of the room, it REEKED of urine! They flipped the mattress over to hide the smell! When I complained they explained the last people had cats... When moving out, they charged me for everything! Even normal wear and tear. Will try to scam you, the office people aren't even nice. Only good thing is the quick and friendly maintenance man, and the distance from
