This roller coaster ride can be amazingly fun, or utterly exhausting. Let's work together to identify new tools for your "parenting toolkit" which you can use immediately. The goal: positively impacting your children (and you) to create more balance and harmony in your relationship. I'm a Portland Oregon based Parent Educator and Counselor with 25 years experience providing practical parenting advice.
I'm enthusiastic about working with you to learn new cooperative + positive co-parenting skills, or strategies to thrive as a sole parent. My work includes developing fun workshops for parents and teachers. All presentations are certified through the Oregon Registry and Washington Merit systems for clock hour credit.

Services
My counseling approach is rooted in a client-centered model. We find your compass bearings, then work towards helping you feel empowered and confident to make the very best parenting choices. I have over 25 years of experience working with families in schools, non-profits, and juvenile court programs.
Very young children are spending more time in front of (((glowing))) screens. Teachers and parents are concerned how all this "screen time" will affect our children's developing brains. We will explore how to encourage children to practice self-control, self-regulation, develop a tech/life balance, and plug into healthy choices.
Our goal is to work together to identify new tools for your "parenting toolkit" which you can use immediately. The results? Responses to challenging behavior are consistent, loving, and healthy. Partnered or as a sole parent, we work to identify your unique parenting style and fine tune it. My 25 + years of counseling is rooted in simple and relevant behavioral approaches.
The Nurturing Parenting Programs classes are recognized by the National Registry for Evidence Based Programs and Practices (NREPP). I contacted Richard a few months ago to review my parenting style and set goals for the raising of my children.
Richard was responsive and made himself available around my busy work schedule. He went above and beyond his role by talking to other professionals that my children were seeing. His rates are very reasonable for the service received and am very appreciative of the work he has done. I wholeheartedly give Richard my endorsement.
