My experience at South Duff apartments was overall quite good. I was on the 3rd floor. I almost never heard any noise from the neighbors on my side of the unit, although my roommate did complain about hearing the dog of the neighbor on her side whining.
We did have some maintenance issues that cropped up like a washer that wouldn't drain and a deck door that wouldn't lock. Both got taken care of in a fairly timely manner. I do have to complain that the maintenance worker who fixed my washer make kind of a mess that I had to clean up.

South Duff is hands down the best apartment complex I ever lived at in Ames. The staff is amazing. Ashley is the sweetest person and will help you with anything you need. Chelsea can answer any question you ask and is very professional. The rest of the staff is great too! They have great amenities and are the best price option in Ames!

I've lived here about two years, at first everything was great, the staff was nice and maintenance came relatively fast. However when it comes to ensuring residents happiness and safety the staff could care less. My roommate started a small fire and emergency lines that were listed for residents in our move in packet were unresponsive. Staff are also unwilling to listen to complaints and genuine concerns. Parking is also god awful. Other than that, I really liked living here.

I moved in at the beginning of August and have honestly enjoyed my time here! My unit is the perfect size and is super comfortable. I am a student at ISU and would definitely choose South Duff over the dorms. There are many different options, including different sizes of units, floor plans, a good range of affordable prices, the option to have your unit furnished or unfurnished, etc. If you're not happy with where you were placed, they work with you to come up with the best plan for you. I plan to go with South Duff next year as well!

I would never recommend this apartment complex at all! When my daughter moved into the apartment, the bathroom had black water standing in both the sink and bathtub. It was filthy! My daughter lived here and had to move out early for medical reasons. The hospital sent them a letter explaining her medical reason for having to move out and they will not work with her at all! They are even making her pay utilities. Her rent is usually 385 dollars and they want her to pay 517 dollars, which is more than she paid when she lived there. They say it's all in the contract, which they didn't even give us

I have lived at South Duff for the past three years and have renewed and can't wait to continue living here! From the very beginning, all of the staff has been extremely kind and helpful. If there was ever an issue, it was taken care of immediately! Every single staff that I have met goes above and beyond to make their residents feel happy and appreciated by hosting resident events (with free food!!) The prices at South Duff are very reasonable, and the apartments and amenities are wonderful! I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

This place has been a GREAT place to live! Living at South Duff has been an amazing experience. First off, the staff is beyond incredible, always friendly and is willing to help with any issue. Moving here I feel that staff has made an effort to get to know me not as just a resident, but as a friend! The maintenance crew is also awesome, you can put in a maintenance request and they will come within the next day to fix the problem. If you don't own a vehicle or just simply don't want to drive, they offer a shuttle service to their residents. Their property has a large space of grass to offer a
