I came to Zapata by recommendation of my boss after being frustrated by big-box auto shops overcharging me and not always providing good service. I was thrilled with the service at Zapata. They worked quickly and were super willing to show me the details of what they saw on my car. Hiram and his sons were friendly, and the unnamed garage cat and dog Porfilio were an added bonus. Finally, the pricing was very reasonable. Just the good old-fashioned auto garage that I was looking for.

Went here on recommendation of a friend of a co-worker. Amazing! So glad I did. The owner was professional, friendly and got the work done quickly.. I will be going here from bow on.... oh and the prices are beyond fair.

I’ll start by saying I like to repair my own vehicles when I believe I am able and sometimes it doesn’t work out. This was one of those times. I snapped a bolt off and tried to drill and tap it myself. When that also didn’t work out I took it to Hiram and explained myself, we had a little laugh on what I had done but he was respectful. Hiram fixed it at a reasonable fee and even gave me advice for a future repair I am attempting. He even offered to help get a typically stubborn bolt loose before I started the project. I will come back to Hiram for future advice and repairs. Though they work

Anywhoo, they just celebrated 10 years which caught me off guard. I thought these guys had been around for the last 2 maybe 3 years. So much of for what I know.
Hiriam is a good dude, solid guy that you can trust won't upcharge you just because you've got lady bits and showed up without a man to get the "right" price. Yeah, there are a number of shops that still overcharge ladies as if we can't just look up the prices even

After being in Madison a couple years, I am happy to have found a team of friendly and trustworthy mechanics. I was referred through a friend, and it was immediately apparent this was exactly what I was looking for in a shop.
