The Hansen A-team comes through again! Worked on a Gremlin in my electrical system during the hottest stretch of the summer until they fixed it right or had to tell me that I needed a new car. Absolutely fantastic experience!! I needed my headlight bulb replaced and was quoted over $200 at a nearby mechanic where as Hansen’s quoted me for less than half that price. Hansen’s is fair, honest, and does good quality work, not to mention that the people who work here are very friendly! I will be recommending Hansen’s to anyone who is in need of a good mechanic!!

I first went here in December of 2020 when my engine broke down and needed replacing, along with a few other things that went wrong. They were quick, affordable (as affordable as you can be with replacing an engine), and did excellent quality work! My car runs beautifully and now I go here for any auto service I need. As a young woman, I was also taught to be wary of car shops trying to make me spend more than I need to, but this has never been an issue with them. Very grateful for Hansen's Auto!

Go here! I went to Hansen's on the recommendation of a friend after having being misled or screwed over at the last 2 places I'd been to. I had my oil changed, transmission fluid changed, and brakes checked. They assured me my brakes were in good shape, and actually charged me less than quoted for the transmission stating that they used less oil than anticipated. When you're used to being talked into extras, it's so refreshing dealing with an honest shop.

This auto services try to rip me off . I told them how much for the labor for headlight installation fee ? he try to charge me $200 OMG it's a 20 minutes installation work so I go head and bought me a drill. Took me 15 minutes installing my own headlights ez pice of cake. I know that they don't like dumb Asian folks lucky know how to fixed my own car because. I don't recommend anybody who doesn't know them don't service your car there.

I had an evap leak in my fuel system that caused a pesky 'gas cap' light to come on in addition to the 'check engine' light. I went to them to get it taken care of and they got the job done. They took great care of me to such an extent that I want to bring my vehicle back for any maintenance that needs to be done.

I can't say enough about Hansen's. My 2007 Xterra has entered the nickel and dime phase of life. I brought it in for its most recent issue - small leak in the oil cooler seal - and an oil change. Price was right and they, as always, took extra steps to make sure things were all good like blowing debris out of the radiator grill, filling the tires, and visual inspection of the underside to let me know of any potential upcoming issues. Honestly, if you are looking for trustworthy, friendly, competent mechanics this is the place to go. It's that "small town garage" feel

Can't recommend this place enough. Being new in Madison, I wanted to find a place that was fair and had good quality service. The guys here take great care of anyone that comes in, and will walk you through every step of what they're doing. As my car is older, they gave me some really honest opinions about what was and wasn't worth getting fixed, and didn't ever push me to do anything that wasn't necessary. Outstanding service and great people. I won't be going anywhere else.

They are wonderful! Bring your car here! I just moved here from Chicago and I've been going to the same family-owned mechanic for years (YEARS) so i was nervous to find someone here. My car (a VW, just to complicate things) started making a really bad noise on Monday. I called Hansen's right before closing and they patiently talked to me about the problem. They told me to bring it in that night or in the morning and they'd take a look at it. They looked at it and gave me a fair estimate, then did it for less than the estimate AND fixed a tire that was in my trunk, put it back on

This place rocks!
Look I do a lot of my own car repairs and after changing out some tie rods on both sides of the Honda Pilot I thought it would be a good idea to get the alignment taken care of. So off to Hansen's goes my beautiful wife and they treated her perfectly! Some garages are full of gruff, cranky, sometimes stinky staff....not Hansen's.
They took the extra time to fully explain the process to M and went the extra mile tightening down a bolt that I hadn't quite torqued properly :)
I will definitely check them out again in the future and I highly recommend you give them

Quick service, nice crew, fairly priced. Went in to have a headlight changed. I was having difficulty doing it on my own due to the awkward design of the light placement. Even had a couple friends try and they failed as well. I called Hansen's shop and they told me I could come right in. I believe the gentleman that helped me was named John. Took him 5 seconds to pull the headlight out. Turned out I needed a new socket as well because the original had melted. They were able to get a new one put in within 20 minutes. It was great! Good to have both headlights back. Definitely will go back when

Honest, hardworking crew that was very helpful on the phone and in person. I had some bolts loose after my dad did some brake work on my car. They got me in early since they were booked for the day since I had to drive out of town that afternoon. Reasonable rates, friendly service and fixed the repair in under an hour. Couldn't have asked for better service on such short notice!

Their work is the very best, and I've always gotten a detailed discussion of everything, so I've always been able to make informed decisions about the work. Eric P. here....I can't say enough good things about Hansen's. Just last week I was out delivering Meals on Wheels and all of a sudden I discovered my trunk would not shut. (a disaster in this situation) I stopped by Hansen's and John (the owner) dropped everything, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part (a trunk lid actuator switch), and sealed my trunk shut. Less than 24 hours later it was totally repaired! This is just one of many positive encounters with Hansen's. This place is great! Great guys, who don't overcharge or try and con you into getting more work done on your car. As a woman I find it important to be treated fairly and honestly. Most mechanics see a woman and they pump their fists up and down yelling CHA-CHING! I have NEVER encountered this at Hansen's.
Today I brought my car in because the low tire light came on. They were up front about the guestimated cost. Took no time at all...they were able to get my car in right away. After a valve stem replacement, I paid the cost that was slightly under estimate and boogied out.

I had a problem with the windshield washer pump on my old Subaru, and called them on a Monday morning at about 8 am. They were swamped, but told me to bring it in. By 10:30 I had a reasonable quote, and by 1:30 the part had been ordered and installed. They were friendly and easy to work with. I will definitely take my car back to them.

Two Toyota dealers quoted me at over $700 to get my 2008 Prius breaks fixed and also told me that $800 worth of other repairs were needed. The dealership auto shops did not show me anything on my car or explain the specifics of what was needed.
I went to Hansen's where I was treated great! They looked at my car right away and then took me out in the garage to have me look and feel my own breaks and what breaks should feel like to see why I needed a repair. They quoted and fixed the breaks for $380 with no additional costs or suggested repairs.

I haven't done many reviews on Yelp, but I think my experience with Hansen's is worthy of my time.
What I thought was a ignition problem, turned out to be a simple" dead battery". They assessed the situation quickly and had my auto back to me in no time.
The staff was great and kind. I would definitely recommend taking your car to this family shop for your auto needs.

Great personal service and reasonable prices. Took my 92 van for an exhaust repair unexpectedly. They took a look immediately, offered two options and completely understood when I took the $80 repair over the expensive one. Completely supportive of "drive it til it drops" owners. Definitely will be a repeat customer.

This mechanic shop offers very reasonable prices and good service. For putting on four tires, they charged less than some other places I called. Plus they honored the labor charge I was billed last year so I saved money. When I called this winter, the owner recognized me from earlier this year, so he squeezed in my car for repairs even though they were booked till 3 days later. Great service.
